Sarah Palin’s recent email to Time Magazine Congressional Correspondent Jay Newton-Small started off congenial enough. The mood soon shifted dramatically when Gov. Palin attacked the magazine over the “total lies” that had been published about her. Included in her email is not only a call for a retraction of the false stories, but a demand for an apology to Fox News’ Sean Hannity and Christina Aguilera who were both included in the story Time ran. The text of the email follows:
“Subject: Great job, MSM!
Jay – pls tell your bosses there at Time Magazine thank you for the invitations to attend the upcoming functions. I’ll sure put a lot of thought into those invitations.
Then, have your editors retract Time’s most recent ridiculous lies about me supposedly giving Sean Hannity a radio interview wherein I supposedly talked about Christina Aguilera (that I slammed her for her Nat’l Anthem mistake, and called for her deportation, etc). You guys were fooled into running a fake story that even US Weekly pulled and apologized for their blunder. Total lies – and you guys (once again) even put quotation marks around things I have never uttered. Then, Time needs to run an apology to Christina along with the retraction. (Add Hannity in your apology, too…those good folks don’t deserve to be in a caustic, untrue story about me.) Thanks much – keep up the great work, Time Magazine.”

I have yet to cancel Fox .. actually I mostly enjoy their reporting.. of course there are times when it's a tad stretchy… but out and out lies and fabrications are rare,, not so with Time it's more of the normal…but nice try anyway… you wouldn't have seat now would you. it's there on the LEFT

Cracker, you make a valid point. You're right–Palin shouldn't be expected to complain about the unethical behavior of her employer unless it affects her directly. And besides, how would she keep up?
The point, sir, is whether the story in question was directed toward her, not whether Palin had appointed herself guardian of all that is true in media. In the case of the TIME piece, there is no question as to who it was intended to malign and she responded accordingly. Were FOX to come out with a story full of untruths about Palin I'm sure she would defend herself with the same energy that she expended against TIME. You're twisting the plot for no reason. I was led to believe you were above such partisan behavior. Guess not.

I always thought Time magazine was an unbiased presenter of events until it's reporting of the Viet Nam War and later, I'ts coverage of the "Watergate" scandal. From then on, it has been hostile toward conservatives, Republicans, and the military. I cancelled my subscription to it years ago because I considerd it to be such a biased rag that the articles within it could no longer be relied upon for accuracy, but instead, reflected Time's editors political agenda.

Time magazine, who reads it these days? The most liberal hate magazine published to date. I haven't purchased or read any of their publications at the library or the free magazines at the barbershop in the past 10-15 years. You showed your true colors again by the publishing of the comments on Palin and her family. No class at all.
I agree, as a former reporter, that news media seeking sensational, rather than factual news, is guilty of yellow journalism, or whatever it is called now. I'm 75 and almost embarrassed to tell anyone I was ever a reporter. That is why I turned to fiction writing in my older age of 68. I couldn't stand being one of the now considered news reporters.

Wow Kathy, feeling optimistic about Palin, lol. She sure does get the left rattled. If she were to gain the Presidency at least she would be a legal citizen! And even though I think she would want to do a great job…the problem is there is such a powerful force that actually controls the Presidency ( and Congress ) to where that person is nothing but a figurehead/puppet that is forced to follow a program or else!

They sure do enjoy using her as a target of the operation detraction theme they love to use. The problem is when someone on the left does something, like having a relationship with an intern in the White House and lies under oath about it. That just fine and is acceptable behavior. Ever notice that when someone on the right does something like that they step down (Mostly). but the left will defend this behavior with every tax dollar they can use to protect that person. They are the most hypocritical of the two parties. I still think Nancy is stepping up on her promise to drain that swamp now that she has more time on her hands. It won't be the swamp to the left. I wonder does she have go though the scanners or does she take the pat-down at the airport now. Bet she misses that airline she use to own. Back to my point, in my observations, the right seems to always have pay a higher price for there misdeeds than the left.
I dont know which one is worse, Time or Newsweek. I quit reading Time magazine about 10 years ago for the same reason people are not reading it now. They are not really interested in reporting news but creating it. The L.A. Times is another example. Their first 15 pages of news reads like the editorial page. All of the major news agencies should be ashamed of the way they covered Obama and continue to cover him. What is most surprising, if Obama had his way, most of these major news agencies would be out of business with only one news source able to print anything, I think they call it Pravda.
Time magazine is nothing but a Communist party organ! THE only way I would contribute any money to Time, would be in the form of diesel contributions for a D9 dozer to bury their entire operation! I haven't read it in years, and never will!
Our founders gave the press the freedoms they enjoy today to keep the Federal Government true to its principles, not to be a propaganda arm of the party in power. However, save for certain few news organizations, the MSM has kneepads on for the Obama party line and will do everything in its considerable power to bring this country to the far left with the most disgusting and vile smears their little minds can think of. The MSM regularly reports Classified Documents with impunity. They should be seen for what they are, a propaganda arm for the Democrat/Far Left loons who want this country to fail. And, as such, should lose their first amendment freedoms and rights. It would be a different kettle of fish if their poison came in the form of paid advertising, as it did back in the beginnings of the republic; however, their bias is an editorial decision and editorial-ad copy are now considered "journalistic" top of the fold stories complete with propaganda from the Obama White House and the DNC.
As for Time Magazine, I used to read it, had a long time subscription but I canceled it when they refused to pull their backing of a piece of "music" about cop killing. I won't go into detail but they are not and have not been the quality publication they once were in a long while. Not unlike the trash magazines, and many times the news papers, they go for whatever they think will make a buck . GREED is the name of the game and it is why newspapers are dwindling so fast. I don't read nor subscribe to any of them, either..
Time? News Week? I didn't know that they were still in business. I canceled them so long ago I hardly remember when. Age will do that to you. I'm 75 now so I'm guessing I canceled them 40 or 50 years ago. My how time fly's.
The sad thing is that so many of the older people (older than us) have read it for so long and they think because it is published that it is true. My father-iin-law passed last year at 88, and he read every issue from cover to cover. He never realized that much of what he was reading was absolutely biased if not completely false.
Time's time has longed passed. In fact it passed 30 years ago! I'm a 73 year old male and when in a doctors waiting room I have the fascinating choice of reading Time or Better Homes and Garden, I chose the latter. They know what is fertilizer and what is not!
But, if you want to read of "fertilizer", all that TIME has anymore is that four letter word that rhymes with HIT!

It is because she is not afraid to speak the truth, She has her fingers on the pulse of those Americans who love and are proud of the greatest nation on earth. The Fairness Doctrine has been dead since the 1980s and there has never been any meaningful attempt to bring it back–but conservative talking heads love to use the lie as a scare tactic.

Remember that it was the Times that had knowledge of and failed to report to the American people the killings that Lenin and Stalin had ordered for 40 to 60 million Russian citizens that were of the Christian faith. I agree with all other comments. It was in the early-mid 80's I discontinued my subscription and tossed all the Time Magazines I had in the trash can. If you want professional journalism with facts; accurate, reliable information and news you can trust, don't bother with Time Magazine; I get better journalismfrom the National Inquirer.

Aloha John, There is value in reading Time, imho. I try to cover all the media, as much as I can. Contrast any Obamamedia agent (Time, Newsweak, NY Times, NBC, etc. etc.) who will tell it's audience to shun or ban FOXNews, for example, and believe only them. They cannot stand having their audience hear anything else. FOXNews, on the other hand, virtually BEGS its audience to "check it for yourself, listen to all, then decide".

Time's fabrication of facts puts it at the level of the worst of print media. It's such a lousy magazine that one word from me, to my dentist about Time, initiated his cancel request for no further issues to his office waiting room. Of course, the fact that he was able to get the Time subscription for next to nothing was his attraction to subscribing, but it also indicates how little Time even values itself.
I repeated to him what he'd often told me, "You only get what you pay for."
He quickly got that message and now his waiting room is stocked with decent reading matter.
Time and many other 'once respected" publications have all lost their way on the Obama socialists railroad to nowhere.
