As Florida becomes the first state to register one million concealed carry permits and the Illinois’ legislature proposes the nation’s most draconian gun regulations, the US government is quietly using $1.6 billion in borrowed money to amass ammunition for the domestic operations of Homeland Security.
A 91 page standard transaction form filled out by the Department of Homeland Security Training Center in Glynco, GA reveals a staggering amount of ammunition purchased (in unit price in the thousands) by the Department. The .223 Rem Caliber 62/64 Grain JHP was purchased in quantity of 1,100; the .40 S&W Caliber 180 Grain JHP buy quantity was 2,824; 209 9 MM Luger 115 Grain JHP along with even buckshot is on this order form now hard to Google.
The purchase of 1.6 BILLION rounds of ammo and other weaponry, which may or may not include bullets banned by the Geneva Convention, leaves many Americans wondering why all this heavy stuff is needed inside the United States! For the DHS operates only within the nation’s borders, only on American soil.
The first page of this huge, federal government ammo buy states: “Acceptance of an award certifies that the firm will comply with FAR 52,22-50, combating trafficking in persons, by notifying all employees and subcontractors at all levels. Period of Performance: 10/01/2012 to 09/30/2017.” The next item on page 1 states: “Lot 1-base year: date of award and continuing for 12 months (actual 12 month period of performance will be reflected on award document) This contract is for commercial leaded training ammunition (CLTA) in accordance with this document”
Commercial Leaded Training Ammunition is being acquired upon award of this order, but the period of performance extends out over five years! This offer due date was made on 08/20/2012 at 1430 ET and extends out to September of 2017. What is this? Way into September of 2017, these CLTA ammunition bundles are being acquired for domestic use by Homeland Security. And the Department is buying the stuff with money our country does NOT even have! Just what is their purpose? One source even says that “radiation pellets for protection of the thyroid gland” are even included!
Yet just as federal bureaucrats have decided to arm their agencies for a level of action seemingly not anticipated since World War II, State legislators in Illinois are hoping to place legislation on the Governor’s desk next week that will guarantee an outright ban on countless rifles, shotguns, and some 80% of the state’s most widely-owned handgun models. Why would elected officials prepare the GOVERNMENT for a massive gunfight on U.S. soil while working to disarm the American people it ostensibly serves? Could it be the leftist breed that now dominates the nations’ capitol harbors a greater fear of the American people than of the country’s well-known enemies?

It fully details how U.S. Gun Control Acts, specifically the 1968 Gun Control Act was lifted, verbatim, directly from the 1938 Nazi Weapons Act for total gun ban. It explains that Thomas Dodd, former US Senator Christopher Dodd’s (D-CT.) father was able to obtain the written version of the Nazi gun control laws after the Nuremburg Trials which he participated in.

Actually the 1938 German Weapons legislation was a loosening of weapons regulation following the 1928 legislation. The Weimar Republic gun laws of 1928 represented in turn a liberalization of the draconian post-World War I prohibitions on gun possession which were mandated by the Treaty of the Versailles of 1919 (ending WWI against Germany). The Treaty of Versailles itself imposed severe gun restrictions on German citizens. One of the key provisions of the Versailles Treaty, Article 169, stated that “Within two months from the coming into force of the present Treaty, German arms, munitions, and war material, including anti-aircraft material, existing in Germany in excess of the quantities allowed, must be surrendered to the Governments of the Principal Allied and Associated Powers to be destroyed or rendered useless.” In fact, German Firearms legislation under Hitler, far from banning private ownership, actually facilitated the keeping and bearing of arms by German citizens by eliminating or ameliorating restrictive laws which had been enacted by the government preceding his: a left-center government which had contained a number of Jews.

When they get the gun ban passed, and I’m sure they will because there is no one in DC that will stand up and fight to save the Constitution. Where do you hide your weapons? Will they go from house to house and turn them upside down to find any weapons or ammo? Will they just come to your front door and ask you to turn in your weapons? July 22, 2012 was the one-year anniversary of the massacre in Norway; a country with very strict gun control laws, which was perpetrated by Anders Breivik, where 77 people, mostly children, sadly lost their lives. In June 2, 2012, there was a shooting in a Toronto mall where one man was killed, and seven others injured. Again, this is a country with strict gun regulation. There was also the March 11, 2009 shooting at the Winnenden School in Winnenden, Germany, which left 16 dead and 11 injured. Germany also has strict gun regulation. There
are violent and mentally ill people all over the world. If they are looking to harm innocents, they are going to do it, regardless of law. On Friday, December 14th, 2012 in China, there was a knife attack where 22 children and 1 adult were stabbed. It was a miracle none died. Jeffrey Dahmer killed 17 people without a gun. Ted Bundy killed 35 people, and he didn’t need a gun. Timothy McVeigh killed 168 people without the use of a firearm. The 9-11 hijackers killed 2,996 people, and not even they used guns. (2) Citizens frequently must use firearms to defend themselves, as evidenced by the following:
(A) Every year, more than 2,400,000 people in the United States use a gun to defend themselves against criminals–or more than 6,500 people a day. This means that, each year, firearms are used 60 times more often to protect the lives of honest citizens than to take lives.
(B) Of the 2,400,000 self-defense cases, more than 192,000 are by women defending themselves against sexual abuse.
(C) Of the 2,400,000 times citizens use their guns to defend themselves every year, 92 percent merely brandish their gun or fire a warning shot to scare off their attackers. Less than 8 percent of the time, does a citizen kill or wound his or her attacker.

You may recently have seen some in the Internet rumor mill feverishly repeating the obvious truth above, in an effort to stir up fear about recent acquisitions of ammunition by the Department of Homeland Security and a number of smaller agencies. The mildest writers have questioned why seemingly mundane agencies would need ammunition at all; more incendiary authors suggest that these government agencies are preparing for a war with the American people.
Much of the concern stems from a lack of understanding of the law enforcement functions carried about by officers in small federal agencies. These agents have the power to make arrests and execute warrants, just like their better-known counterparts at agencies like the FBI.
For instance, the Social Security Administration solicited offers for 174,000 rounds of pistol ammunition. But the agency has 295 special agents who combat Social Security fraud that costs tax payers billions each year, so the order works out to roughly 590 rounds of ammunition per agent for training, mandatory quarterly qualification shooting and duty use. More than a few NRA members would use that much ammunition in a weekend shooting class or plinking session.
Another recent rumor questioned a request for 46,000 rounds of.40-caliber ammo by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. NOAA inadvertently fueled that speculation through a clerical error that suggested the ammunition was destined for the National Weather Service. NOAA later clarified that the ammunition was actually for the little known Fisheries Office of Law Enforcement, which enforces laws against illegal fishing and marine life importation. The ammunition is for 63 personnel, amounting to about 730 rounds per officer.
The most widespread of the recent rumors involves a Department of Homeland Security contract for a maximum of 450 million rounds of .40-caliber jacketed hollow-points, to be supplied over the next five years.
After receiving numerous questions from his constituents regarding the contract, pro-Second Amendment U.S. Rep. Lynn Westmoreland (R-Ga.) and his staff set out in search of the truth. In a press release, Rep. Westmoreland’s office explains:
If you take the number of agencies that will be using this ammunition – CBP, Citizenship and Immigration Services, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), ICE, the U.S. Secret Service, Transportation Security Administration, the DHS police force, and all the guards that protect the various buildings these agencies are housed in, and spread that out over 5 years, you start to see that 450 million rounds really isn’t that large of an order. Especially considering it is used for training purposes like firing range and live fire exercises, on-the-job use (though that is very limited), and to shore up their supplies. In fact, there are 65,000 – 70,000 law enforcement personnel at DHS who would be covered under this … ammunition contract. If DHS were to purchase all 450 million rounds over 5 years, then that would equate to only about 1,384 rounds of ammo per year per law enforcement [officer] … assuming the lower estimate of only 65,000 law enforcement personnel at DHS. Considering those agents go through training exercises several times per year, that is not a lot of ammunition.
Perhaps most strangely, some have cited the purchase of hollow-point ammunition as evidence of the federal government’s evil motives. Hollow-points are the defensive ammunition of choice for federal, state and local law enforcement officers across the country, just as they are for private citizens. These attacks are eerily similar to statements made by gun prohibitionists, who spent the much of the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s complaining about “dum dum” bullets. (In fact, the Violence Policy Center’s website still exhibits a publication lamenting that federal ammunition law “has no effect on today’s generation of high-tech hollow-point ammunition.”) The attacks also ignore the fact that federal agents, unlike average taxpayers on more limited budgets, normally train and qualify with their duty ammunition.
As most gun owners will agree, skepticism of government is healthy. But today, there are more than enough actual threats to the Second Amendment to keep gun owners busy. With two key Supreme Court decisions hanging by a one-vote margin, the Justice Department deeply involved in a cover-up of a disastrous Mexican gun smuggling operation, and President Obama touting a ban on popular semi-automatic firearms, there is no need to invent additional threats to our rights.

I think perhaps the amount arrived at had been “doctored” to feed those that are so very convinced we are on the very brink of a National catastrophe brought to you by non-other than the U.S. Government………..
