The latest NBC/WSJ/Marist poll gives President Obama an eight-point lead in Ohio, and the RealClearPolitics average shows Obama ahead by 5.5 percent. Obama beat John McCain in Ohio by 4.8 percent, and if we are to believe these polls, President Obama is on track to beat Mitt Romney there by an even wider margin — despite the down economic indicators and a lack of excitement for the president.
But that’s not going to happen.
With a month to go in this election, the one real performance indicator we have for Ohio — early absentee ballot requests — shows Republicans have narrowed the gap since 2008 in every county on record in the state.
Two of the most populated counties, Franklin and Summit, are on track to narrow the gap 10 percent and 27 percent, respectively. College professors in Ohio who have begun to keep track of this county data have shared it with my organization, American Majority Action (AMA).
In 2008, there were 1,158,301 total absentee ballots requested: 33 percent were requested by registered Democrats and 19 percent were requested by registered Republicans — a 14-point gap. So far in 2012, only 638,997 ballots have been requested, 29 percent by Democrats and 24 percent by Republicans — only a five-point gap.

presidents are elected by the cities , not the country folk . and what lives in the cities ? minorities that the democratic party has been making fools of for a very long time , unfortunately you cant convince them of that ! so city votes are democratic votes , here in pa it is philly and pittsburg who determine winners . the rest of us might as well stay at home ! as long as he has the cities obama will win !
Obama beat John McCain in Ohio by 4.8 percent–and we know that there was at least that much voter fraud in Ohio—in the cities, of course!
I was born in Cleveland, raised near Akron. It was once a decent place, now it’s ‘Oh, way to go Ohio!’
Now, that it looks like I’m going to lose by a “landslide”; therefore, I am going to promise the lower 98% a tax-free vacation until after the election, then my socialism will take full effect. No common American will have ownership of anything, not a car, house, nor a pet! I’ll take children from parents just like my Hero Stalin, Hero Hitler, and Hero Mao did!
Also, I think that I should get another Nobel Peace Prize, because of all of the peace I am going to lead in the Middle East and around the world! You know my word is truth!
Peace is moving “forward”? Forget “Hope and Change”! Where did I get my new slogan “Forward”? Yes! From Mao, Hitler, and Stolin of course.
I lived in Ohio at one time – I did NOT know how many clueless and uninformed people lived there! Sad!
I was born and raised in Ohio. Many of my friends who still live there are die-hard Dems. They just cannot see the forest for the trees. However, there are Christians there who will NOT back Obama. Sadly, they think the Dems are the same as when I was a girl (in the 60s) and that’s not the case at all. It wasn’t until I moved to California and saw what the Dems REALLY were that gave me cause to pause. At that point, I switched parties. And while Mitt would not be my first choice for President, he is, in fact, the lesser of two evils. (I’d like Adam West, to be frank…and HE would not have had the left shouting “racism”…because they couldn’t. – Did you see how West cleaned the clock of a talking host pundit? He was AWESOME!!!)
Ohio voters will back Romney and vote him in as our next President. I have faith for sure.
