About a month ago, EPA regional official Al Armendariz made news when a YouTube video of him describing the way the agency handles oil and gas companies surfaced. In it, Armendariz said an analogy he liked to use about enforcement was how the Romans used crucifixion to keep smaller towns and villages under their thumb. Since then, Armendariz has resigned his post at the EPA. Case closed, right? Wrong.
A local North Carolina man named Larry Keller didn’t particularly like the analogy that Al Armendariz used, so, along with thousands of others assumably, he set about to contact Mr. Armendariz to discuss his views on the oil and gas industries. One of our basic rights and privileges in a free society is to be able to petition our government for a redress of grievances without fear of repercussion from said government simply for voicing our grievance.
Keller proceeded to try and contact Mr. Armendariz by Googling him. His domain was a subset of Southern Methodist University, he was directed to contact a Dr. David Gray who is the Director of External Affairs for the EPA. Keller wrote a simple, one sentence email to Dr. Gray which said simply, “Hello Mr. Gray-Do you have Mr. Armendariz’s contact information so we can say hello?”
On May 2nd, just a little over a week after the Armendariz crucify comments had flared up, two special agents from the EPA and a local police officer showed up at Mr. Keller’s home. Here is the story in his own words:
On Wednesday, May 02, 2012 at about 1:45PM two Special Agents from the EPA and an armed police officer who stood 6’6” tall visited our house in Asheville, NC. Their visit was a total surprise as we had not received any communications requesting an appointment. The agents presented very official looking badges and asked if we could sit and chat awhile. We moved to the back porch and took our seats with the exception of the armed officer who stood by the door to the house the entire time.

All dictatorships operate by means of fear and intimidation. The little people must understand that unwelcome “questions” will be met with “chats” of the sort described above. In this way, such questions will be kept to a minimum!

Well what happened after you sat down? I would have told them to leave and get a warrant. You don’t talk to these people you tell them to go away.

It took me a few minutes to figure it out. It should have been part of the story, as printed by the Western Center For Journalism.

I would ask if they have a warrant and if they are charging me with anything. I would NOT have let them in the house. If they had no warrant, which they could not have since there was no probable cause for a judge in his right mind to issue one, they could leave. If they didn’t leave, I’d call the local sheriff office and tell them you have some unwanted agents trespassing on your property with no charges, no warrant, and no real reason to be there and you’d like them removed. I would then go in my house and lock the door, and call a trustworthy lawyer ASAP. They would love to escalate it into a situation, so you’d have to be really careful not to let them interpret anything you’re doing as hostile.
If they had no warrant and wouldn’t leave I would go to my gun cabinet while calling a lawyer. Then call a sheriff. It wouldn’t escalate anything because they wouldn’t have a chance to escalate they would leave or I would have to make them leave. If they didn’t they would leave in body bags. This has to come to an end, His story is a prime example of tyranny and oppression
I loved Eddychucks response, I also admire his nerve saying it out loud with Holders secret police spreading like cancer. It is nice to know that there are people like Eddy still around, I hope there are millions and I hope I have the nerve to join them when the explosion finally comes.
It doesn’t take nerve. Right is might. I will not sit back and let my family, my children and my grandchildren be subject to a bunch of psychopaths. I could give a shit about Holders henchmen, I welcome them to try any bullshit with me. I have drawn my line in the sand, I have lived a good life, that seems to be souring in my golden years. I have faced death, have seen the aftermath of tyranny and oppression, I have witnessed life, freedom and liberty. I have deep abiding love for this country and consider everyone in it as an extension of the American way. I have swore an oath to my country and countrymen. I will not tolerate dictatorship, opression or tyranny. So if their are spies, you have been given notice.
If we had any living congressmen, they would put together a bill to defund the EPA and the Presidency, until the constitutions is acknowledged by these enemies of the USA.
What the hell, is “crystal knacht” next? Why was EPA officials armed? When did they become a police force?
