RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Dozens of volunteers armed with clipboards and voter registration forms gather at President Barack Obama’s field office here every day. Their mission: Fan out across the city seeking new voters in this rapidly growing state.
“Are you registered to vote at your current address?” asks Douglas Johnston, a volunteer wooing voters outside the county courthouse. “Do you know about early voting?”
The effort, it seems, has borne fruit — to the tune of more than 250,000 new registered voters in North Carolina since April 2011, according to Obama’s team. That’s more new voters than the campaign has registered anywhere else in the country.
It’s an eye-popping total in a state that Obama won by just 14,000 votes four years ago. And the flood of new voters — presumably a chunk of them Democrats — could help keep North Carolina within the president’s reach in a year when everything else here seems to be working in Republican Mitt Romney’s favor.
North Carolina has voted for a Democratic presidential candidate just twice in 40 years. The state’s economy is abysmal; its 9.7 percent unemployment rate is among the nation’s highest. And the president’s embrace of gay marriage put him at odds with a majority of North Carolina voters, including many blacks, who make up the core of his support here.

OBummer will do everything and anything to get votes. The polls are nothing but BS. He is not ahead the way they say because if he was why would he be trying to buy votes and try to sign people up to vote weather they are legal or not. I hope the ones that sign up are REALLY Romney voters. That should show OBummer that he his games aren’t going to win him the WH
Wonder how many of the 250000 got free phones? Hey NC hold out for more free stuff. Don`t just sign up for nothing. Make the lyer in chief pay.
I’m from middle NC and one is hard pressed to see Obummer support here. I’d say you see 10 or 12 or maybe even more Romney stickers and signs for every one for Obummer. I personally don’t know but two or three people that admits they’re voting for Obummer compared to at least 100 for Romney. Don’t misunderstand me, I’m not for either person and will vote for neither, but the facts I see and witness is that Romeny is actually walking all over Obummer in middle NC. Even many black people are voting for Romney here. I can’t speak for the Raleigh, Chapel Hill areas because they are the heart of the Democrat Party in NC. Charlotte is a banking and finance center which is full of white collar workers, mainly middle age, so that is slightly to Romney. I just don’t see the Obummer support as the polls and media is saying.

He knows, the only way that Muslim Terrorist will get re-elected is to register illegal immigrants, prisoners and those who can’t read and instruct them to vote democrat. ‘Look for the “D” symbol on the ballot.’ If he even thinks he is still going to loose the election, HE WILL declare Marshall Law and eliminate elections on Nov 6. This will make him dictator and the 5-tons and trains will be filled up with “non-believers of the Muslim Faith” for immediate transport to his detention centers. The thing is, after Nov 6 and Marshall Law, he won’t need those illiterate, illegal voters and, they too, will be shipped out to a detention center.
The Obama team will do everything under the sun to re-elect this President who has failed the American people in many aspects of our life (Economic, social, and religious). Domestic policies failed and now, his foreign policy, which the Democrats are arrogantly claiming to be excellent is now in shambles because of the Benghazi murders of four Americans…..Now, there is voter fraud caught in Florida… During the 2008 election, we have ACORN which substantially committed voter fraud….we better watch out for this group which are now “maybe” on the loose.
I certainly would not trust these voter registration numbers are legit and not fraud!!!
