I was in a Social Service’s office w/a friend whose husband has been w/out a job since 2009. They lived on the $20,000 they had in savings and now have no money for food etc. She said she NEVER imagined she would be sitting in that place. She fells like a looser. She prays that things will change so she doesn’t have to do this. but while I was sitting there i looked around and I would say more than half of the people there were Middle Eastern or Hispanic & Somalian. And they weren’t speaking English. There are Arabic & Spanish translators there for them. I thought to myself…………….Obviously they never paid into the system but are able to get all the help they want!!!!!! It even seemed it was easier for them to get food stamps, money & medical than the American’s. I would say there were about 8 or 9 Whites in there among at least 50 Foreigners. It felt like I was in a foreign country because of all the communication going on was NOT in English around me it was Spanish or Arabic or Somalian. I just don’t get it!!! My friend at least paid into the system for many many yrs but it is utterly disgusting to see those who never put one dime in are getting help WTH!
Lani…. I agree with you 100%. I have been in the emergency room before…. where there were approximately 60 or 65 people waiting in there with me. There were 4 blacks, and 3 whites including me. the rest were Mexicans. This is the way it is all over this state. You can’t pick up the phone w/o the recording coming one… ’1′ for English ’2′ for Spanish… I get so sick of that I wanna pitch that phone across the room. I went in Lowes one time to buy something.. and as I entered the store… they had a stand there with their ads on it. I picked up one and was I was walking through the store… I started looking at the ad and saw it was all in Spanish… thinking I had picked up one that was just for them.. I went back to the front and that was ALL they had…. ONLY for Mexicans… I went to the desk and said where are the ones in ENGLISH…. and she said.. oh you will have to go over to the checkout counter for those…..
By that time.. I was foaming at the mouth it made me so mad. But get used to it.. its that way all over this state …. The whites in this state are the minority now… the Mexicans are the majority… Totally TRUE… !!
Then the schools wanna change what the books are written to benefit those who can’t speak English or slow learners. Gee… wonder what they will change next…. possibly the rest rooms… and they’ll have
new signs made up for the restrooms in places now such as…. Dama del baño. Then in all restaurants, they’ll have the menus in spanish too. Guess all whites need to learn spanish, huh? Cause it’s here to stay.
It’s time that all the taxpayers got together and demand that if you don’t put in the system you don’t get a thing from us. I have an Iranian neighbor who has never worked a day in the US who is getting social security, medicare, his retarded daughter born in Iran gets $1000 a month…he’s able to go to Las vegas 3 times a year…went to Iran for a month and stayed in 5 star hotels and recently was able to replace all his tile work in the kitchen and bathrooms while I don’t have the money to do mine. I don’t get free medical attention like he does and can’t aford to eat out 4 times a week like he and his family does…what the hell is wrong here? Tell me…..please…..

When a person wants something from another —- what do they do? They will give them something in hope of getting that favor back — ‘See what I’ve done for you????’ Obama knows what all these ‘freebies’ buy…. they BUY him votes… He is mighty FREE with the People’s money.. but he’s NOT free with his OWN money…. He BUYS his votes by giving people things… They OWE him !! Then he OWNS them! Simple as that!
As long as the fed`s has money to waste by soaking taxpayers more, and more nothing will ever change. When the people that have to pay for the waste finally say enough and cut off the tax pie will government ever change. No work no eat.
First we just had food stamps. But then I guess the mothers or fathers were too lazy to pack a kid’s lunch. So then we started paying low income kids lunches. Then I guess the parents were too lazy to get up and fix their kids a bowl of cereal, so then we started offered low – income kids breakfasts. I was a volunteer reading teacher for many years and you would be surprised at how many kids just threw the
majority of their breakfasts away. I don’t know about lunch because I was not around to see what they did.
Just ask any person who checks-out say at Walmarts or Meijer or Kroger and ask them what they see being purchased with the food stamp money. This is a disgrace.
Why are you just stereo-typing all parents? You should know better than that – you are supposed to be an adult. Sometimes there are circumstances that the parent cannot control. Shame on you! Now, I know why you didn’t stay too long with that kind of attitude about parents.

I don’t know where Lani observed these people applying for benefits, but if it were e.g. Prince Georges County, Maryland, I can tell you that lots of Latinos and Ethiopians who look lost in Upper Marlboro have had part-time jobs in Hyattsville. You have to learn Spanish (or even Amharic) to get any service in some of the kind of stores that are laying off workers or holding them down to 28 hours a week due to Obamacare. If you teach them the English equivalent of what you just said, that’s more than their employer ever did. Some of these people are in line for benefits now. They’ve not paid in much…because their wages never were good…but they’ve paid. I hate that Obamacare is pushing them back into poverty.
Limit to unwed or single mothers with a max of 2 children. Any more, no way. No spending the stamps for lobsters, steak, alcohol, etc. This is not limited to uneducated but to those who don’t want to be responsible for their lives. They need to get a job. Most of us are living on a very limited income but we don’t ask to be put on the dole! Also, with fewer taxes being paid they will not be getting any money! They need to wake up and smell the coffee. We need to help but not support!
Its so strange when so many are on food stamps and some are not even allowed to have more than $10.00 what will that buy ???? We already have more people still needing assistance but they can not get it yet these idiots that voted for Obama just because they got food stanps plus in my book need to go get out of America But free loaders are here in America for all the free stuff they can get and also are the ones voted no doubt illegally for this piece of trash Obama he is a liar thief and killer 4 Americans in Libya and you still want this for a president no he wants to be the dictator then what are you going to do it will be like Libya Egypt and all those countries fighting yes that is what Obama is fullfilling for America then the bastard will run back to the rest of the bums that has helped him get in office and they will be gone due to no free stuff and will have to work if there is a job which I doubt be like all the other countries killing one another Get rid of this trash and his rear kissers before this happens Impeach him charge all with fraud and treason send to prison with sentence to die just like the ones he killed in Libya

I can name you two people right now… who are/were on the dole for being without a job. One was on it for almost two years… now her son has been on it forever and just signed up for another session of it. They do NOT wanna work.. and the govt never checks on this cause now all they have to do is look up on the internet and say they checked with this job or that job…. when in fact.. all they did was just jot down places of business as having been there… Their daughterinlaw was on the dole for almost 2 years.
When I was without work.. we had to stand in line for hours.. then go to the first desk.. and from there we had to go to the second desk.. where she took down all the info… you had collected by GOING to EACH place you had VISITED – the Owner’s name and telephone no.. … etc… we had to do this EACH week… Try standing in line with a jillion others… now.. all they do is sit at the computer and say I was there … nope..no job available… and you’re home free to collect $$$$$. It’s nothing but a racket….. but the Govt.. doesnt care
