In urging lawmakers to vote for his tax deal, President Obama is using one of his go-to lines from the healthcare debate, according to a Democratic lawmaker.
Obama is telling members of Congress that failure to pass the tax-cut legislation could result in the end of his presidency, Rep. Peter DeFazio (Ore.) said.
“The White House is putting on tremendous pressure, making phone calls, the president is making phone calls saying this is the end of his presidency if he doesn’t get this bad deal,” he told CNN’s Eliot Spitzer.
But the White House shot back late on Wednesday.
“The president hasn’t said anything remotely like that and has never spoken with Mr. DeFazio about the issue,” said White House spokesman Tommy Vietor.
Obama’s push shows that the president is going to the mat in order to push through Congress the compromise brokered with Republicans.

Well there's a great reason not to pass it! His Presidency is over anyway, as far as I'm concerned, he's never proven he's in the position legally anyway. Prove it!
Does that mean that Lt. Col. Terry Lakin can be taken out of his court martial and that the liar, Treasonary, illegal ALIEN can take his place? If and when he decides to quit (I'll believe it when I see it) he'll be able to show his so called "Birth Certificate" and then Terry can be released, then the Alien can be inprisoned for all his crimes, along with Reid and Pelosi, oh and put his so called wife in there with them as the "Aid and Abet" American, White People Hater (are they really married?) and we can install electric fences on our border next to the made Alligator Pits to pick up the trash, and clean out this country once and for all.

He is correct that the tax bill can wait until next year..I believe THIS congress should pack up and leave… next year the important legislation. All they are doing now is destroying everything they can before leaving…kind of like terrible renters trashing the place before they are evicted! Very un-American!

Richard, you can only impeach an American Citizen, not a British Citizen, like his father was or is. Someone like this, has to be imprisioned and should be given the Firing Squad, hanging, or Old Sparky (the electic chair) for attempting to wipe out, sell out, bankrupt, treasonary actions, trying to let the Drug Cartels and the whole Mexican country admission free with a college education promise then we can "sue him" like he has done to so many states and Citizens here.

Boy is that ever tempting! It might be worth giving up the tax breaks if it would mean getting rid of the worst president we have ever had! Think of the tax savings which could come about without Obama in the whitehouse. Another bonus would be a huge improvement in our national security without Obama around to scuttle it! Also we might be able to strengthen our armed forces.

If the dems do not pass this bill they will be gone on the fourth of Jan. The new congress will be in place to vote in the tax bill of their choice hopefully one that will benefit the whole country. So it may be better that these fools do not get their bill passed. And Obama will be done at the same time. How good is that?

Republicans haven't learned anything from the election last month either. There should be no compromise. Democrats do not compromise when Republicans are in power. The tax rates should be maintained and unemployment should not be extended. The Dream Act, the Omnibus, and the Tax Compromise need to be voted down!!
