An archived article from 2004 on Barack Obama’s run for the U.S. Senate in Illinois describes the relative political newcomer as “Kenyan-born,” providing further fuel for speculation over the president’s eligibilty for office.
WND has noted various news reports that have either stated or implied Obama’s birthplace is not Hawaii, as he has claimed, but Africa.
The issue is significant, since there are a number of lawsuits challenging Obama’s eligibility that argue if he was not born in the U.S., he does not meet the requirement in the Constitution that the president be a “natural born” citizen.
Now have come a flood of blog questions and e-mails regarding the apparently archived article from the Sunday Standard in Kenya.
The report starts out, “Kenyan-born US Senate hopeful, Barrack (sic) Obama, appeared set to take over the Illinois Senate seat after his main rival, Jack Ryan, dropped out of the race on Friday night amid a furor over lurid sex club allegations.”

Because he has shown the OFFICIAL birth certificate of Hawaii, and the facts on it have been confirmed twice by the officials in Hawaii. The Wall Street Journal commented: "Obama has already provided a legal birth certificate demonstrating that he was born in Hawaii. No one has produced any serious evidence to the contrary. Absent such evidence, it is unreasonable to deny that Obama has met the burden of proof. We know that he was born in Honolulu as surely as we know that Bill Clinton was born in Hope, Ark., or George W. Bush in New Haven, Conn."
Of the story that Obama was born in Kenya the National Review commented: "The theory that Obama was born in Kenya, that he was smuggled into the U.S., and that his parents somehow hoodwinked Hawaiian authorities into falsely certifying his birth in Oahu, is crazy stuff."

So its equally ridiculous that during the 1960s there were four forms of "legal certificates" in HI? Only one of them actually required the delivering physician to be present-the long form. The others could be filed in absentia by the parents without any confirmation that the birth actually ocurred in HI. They are simply "Certificates of Live Birth".
I have a question for "Because he has shown the OFFICIAL birth certificate of Hawaii" If you would take the time to read his script for his "educating our children" speach several weeks back, there is a sentence that states (and I am paraphrasing) "When I lived in Indonesia with my mother, because we did not have much I could not go to school with the American kids". Now re-read this sentence very carefully. "I could not go to school with the American kids". Now if he was an American, why wouldn't he have said "I could not go to school with the OTHER American kids? Now, why would he say "Other"? Don't fudge on me, just respond to the question. How would you interpret that statement? Period.

If this is crazy, then why has Obama spent some $1.4 million to hide all his personal documents. And how did he get a foreign-student scholarship if he was born in Hawaii. He would have had to shown that he was foreign born and a citizen of another nation in order to qualify for the scholarship. It looks like Obama will eventually be proven a fraud on the Constitution and the Office of the Presidency. The truth will eventually come out.

He hasn't. The vast number of lawsuits against him were before the election, and they were to stop the election. After the election, the vast number of remaining lawsuits were to stop the certification of the election or to stop the inauguration. The remaining lawsuits ask for many things including Obama's kindergarden records and his housing records while at college. There has never been a lawsuit against Obama that simply asked for the birth certificate.
Gee,… How is it possible that John McCain, would be required to prove that he is a"Natural Born Citizen" due to the fact that he was born in the Panamal Canal Zone, to two U.S. American citizens, on a military base? While Barrack Obama, with only one, under age, American parent, who could not pass on citizenship to him, was never asked to provide prove he is a "Natural Born Citizen."
Congress made McCain submit to this test. Why on earth did they not require Obama to submit to the same test? McCain was approved because both of his parents were U.S. citizens. Since then there have been numerious law suits filed in courts accross this land, yet our courts have said, "no one has standing", "this court does not have jurisdiction", GOOD GOD, every American citizen has standing, every American court has jurisdiction. Even if we concede that Obama was born in Hawaii (although I still have doubts), the undisputable fact is that he will not allow anyone to see his long form bith certificate which identifies the attending physician and the hospital of his birth. He also will not allow anyone to see his college records. He will not allow anyone to see his client list from his days as a Chicago attorney. Maybe he really does have nothing to hide and is just being an arrogant elitist who wants to show how little respect he has for his "subjects." I simply have a hard time believing that this man has NOTHING from his past that he feels it is imperative to keep hidden from his fellow citizens (if indeed we ARE his fellow citizens!).

Hawaii no longer sends out the long-form birth certificate. It only sends out the short form. (http://www.starbulletin.com/columnists/kokualine/…
That being the case, unless Obama has a copy of the long form that his family saved from the time of his birth. And it is likely that he lost it or his family did during moves. Then all that Obama can show is what Hawaii sends out, which is only the short-form birth certificate.
However, that is now the official birth certificate of Hawaii, and it is accepted by all the departments of Hawaii (yes, including DHHL; I checked) as proof of birth in Hawaii, and it is accepted by the US State Department as proof of birth in the USA.
As for letting others see his college records. That was in a suit that also asked to see his kindergarten records and his college housing records (which would have revealed who he lived with while at college). Since no president has shown such a thing before, Obama opposed the lawsuit.
BUT, he did show his official birth certificate.

Personally I agree with you. But the precedents that bar people who cannot show that they are directly affected from filing these kinds of lawsuits date from the Vietnam War, when anti-war groups filed lawsuits against the war. Also, the rules are to cut down on lawsuits by those bad old trial lawyers, who would file numerous suits against corporations and government claiming damages unless the rules prevented lawsuits from being filed unless the plaintiffs could prove that they were directly injured.
Claims that Obama was born in Kenya are just as unproven. The plaintiffs, in my opinion, also have to
prove he wasn't born here. In the run up to the War of 1812, the Royal Navy routinely stopped American ships on the high seas and took off American seamen they thought were deserters. This was
true in 1807, when the British ship HMS Leopard, stopped the American frigate USS Chesapeake, on
the pretext of sending letters to the United States. The Leopard sent a boat over to the Chesapeake and removed several American sailors. One of them was sentenced to 500 lashes. American seamen impressed into the Royal Navy showed the captains of British ships their Orders of Protection, (similar to a modern passport), and the captains would call them forgeries claiming that the seaman was a deserter and could go to a justice of the peace and swear out multiple Orders of
Protection for other deserters from the Royal Navy. Let both sides PROVE THEIR CASES.
Why is Obama hiding his actual Birth Certificate?
I saw this and was wondering when the fringe media is going to catch on.
I would suggest that all who comment on this subject get all your facts together. Besides all the controversy surrounding the birth certificate I would ask a few more questions:
1. How did BHO travel to Pakistan in the 80's when American citizens were banned from traveling there?
2. How come no doctor or hospital in Hawaii will come forward and conclusively state he was born in Hawaii?
3. Why won't he release his college records from Occidental College showing how he paid for his time there?
4. Hawaii states they have his long form birth certificate, just don't state where it is from!
There are a ton of questions surrounding his past that no one seems to have answers to, other than a scant and spamodic history of very controversial characters. I agree with one of the commentors here he doesn't act like an American….and nothing he does will change that.

Because American citizens WEREN'T banned from traveling there. The allegation that Pakistan barred US tourists from visiting or that Pakistan was on a "no travel" list is phony. Why should he? Has any previous president released such records? Is there a law that says that presidents have to release their college records, or the records of how they paid for college? Back during the election campaign was the time to ask for those records. Now he does not have to.

Look – I for one am not going to take anyone's word that they saw the long form BC from Hawaii. Show it to us all – all signatures. You can't believe anyone when it comes to Obama – especially Obama. The short form Certificate of Birth – is not true proof of his birth – look it up as to what it is and how reliable it can be as proof alone. Anyone – especially at that time in Hawaii could get one with a little fudging. The more he hides – the longer he hides – the more he will be pushed to provide these provings, academic records and all…. just research his mother and her age – he's already disqulified for that alone.

For the simplest of reasons. Because he does not have it. Hawaii does not send out copies of the original anymore. It only sends out the short-form certification of live birth. This however is now the official birth certificate of Hawaii.
If you would like to see the original, you may be able to get Hawaii to change the law to send it out. You can't get it from Obama because he doesn't have it.
No matter how hard one tries, he or she CANNOT get anyone to believe that Obama was born in Kenya. It is an exercise in futility. Obama and his ilk have spent millions on lawyers to deceive America about this and they have accomplished it.
Part 1) Down to basics – it is obvious that for whatever reason – be it not available because it was destroyed or too old to still be warehoused or not made an electronic record as a file… the efforts are being made to FORCE this person to PROVE who he is – his place of birth…
