You may recall that on Monday President Obama refused take any questions from the press (irony alert!) immediately after signing the “Press Freedom Act” in the Oval Office. The president, who hasn’t held a prime time press conference since last July, said this was not a press conference and he would have something later in the week.
He was presumably referring to today’s scheduled “Joint Press Conference” with Mexican President Calderon in the Rose Garden. But so-called “press conferences” with foreign leaders usually allow for only two questions from the White House press corps and two from foreign reporters.
But today he said there was time for only one from each side. And in what I suspect was a White House effort to assure that the questioning was limited to immigration and other issues of U.S.-Mexico concern, he called on the Univision reporter from the U.S. side.
So if his goal was to avoid answering any tough questions about yesterday’s elections, or the oil spill in the Gulf, or financial regulation, or Iran, or Afghanistan — he succeeded.
As he and President Calderon turned to walk back toward the Oval Office I asked, loudly enough for him to hear, if he had any comment on the elections. No response.
I then shouted “Do you have any plans for a REAL press conference?” No response, not that I expected one.

Why was I not surprised at the outcome of this MEETING? if that what it was. It was a total waste of everyones time and money. We DO NO need a Mexican President telling our Congress and other make believe leaders how we should run the USA. Send him back home with the rest of the illegals and put up sidn in all languages that read "You will be shot if you cross this border illegally " short , sweet, and simple

Hawk… I repeatedly ask my "representatives" why no one in the government is willing to even mention the word IMPEACHMENT. They refuse to answer me. I have asked them why they fear Obama…no answer. I think, if this senate and congress continues to do nothing but watch Obama and his gang of Chicago theives wreck this country, the only thing they will hear, and soon, is the sound of gunfire. I would not like for that to happen, but I think Obama is forcing it.
Lets face it, it is very sad but true, our President is a Chicken$#!* and an embarrassment. He treats United States citizens with no respect so I have no respect for him or any of the Socialist/Communist that he has appointed.
I am so sick and so tired of every one and their freaking brother wanting to give America over to foreigners to run. The UN, the EU, Mexico, the Muslims….WHEN are we going revolt. My heart just breaks for the America that I knew and loved so much. I long for the freedoms that we used to have. I long for the morality and respect that used to used to be the norm…one for the other. The pride and patriotism that we took in our country. Now, we are nothing but a laughing stock to the rest of the world. It makes me so sick!
I was on the tail end of listening to radio talk show that said (someone, I don't know who it was) said something (I don't know what it was) needed to be removed from text books in the schools because it promoted patriotism. What the HELL?

The White House press corps are a bunch of kitty-cats. Even if there was news conference there would be no tough questions.
If the President is so concered with immigration why doesn't he PROPOSE legislation and give us that "we face a crisis" business and report that "this must pass" before the end of the weekend stuff. He has nothing to propose on immigration legislation. Instead he fumbled around with his words and made it sound like it was up to Congress to act. What a leader! The Critic-in-Chief stirred the pot by suggesting Arizona cops were incompetent and would therefore harrass people who went out to buy ice cream with their kids at night. That is because Obama thinks cops are racist. Period.
Obama FEARS Les Kinsolving. He can not answer what Les is going to nail him with so he avoids the press entirely. He tried to hand pick his media mouthpieces too and that's not working out too well unless you consider Gibbs a reliable source. Myself, I'd want to put his secret service agents under oath and ask a few questions. One would be, how long was the president inside the Kenyan embassy on April 10, 2010 ? Did any agents accompany him inside or were you instructed to remain outside?

He didn’t answer because he feels he doesn’t have to. The media were willing partners while acorn, Chicago thugs, George Soros, left wing traitors and subversives financed with Muslim money all conspired to elect this totally unqualified Manchurian Candidate to the highest office in the land. Some people with minds not rotted out with the utter stupidly of political correctness and “white people’s guilt” tried to raise the alarm but were shouted down with the democratic parties’ favorite ploy

The media, all but the most complacent, (or maybe just plain stupid), are only now beginning to feel the sting of realization that they were the “useful idiots” in this charade. Spend a few minutes reading the excuses and half truths on such Obama apologists’’ sites as “The Urban Legends” or listen to Combs twist the subject on FOX News to get an idea how it’s done. Now that the internet did so much to get him elected he is now turning on it as “disruptive” and “distracting”.
This election, touted as something good for the country or “about time” will go down in history as the most racist election in history. Who can deny he was elected him not because he was the most qualified politician but because he is a minority politician. When, for reasons of race, guilt, political correctness, or just to have “change” whole segments of the population threw common sense out the window and elected a politician with left-of-Mao politics, unsavory advisors, a contradictory background, shadowy finances, pitifully limited qualifications and shall I say it, “questionable” loyalties. It’s all for your own good, Comrades; and for the good of the nation. Suck it up for in a few years one of two things will happen: either no one will admit to have voted for him or everyone will be afraid to admit the didn’t vote for him. Can’t happen here? Dream on.

Can't help but chuckle when Obama gives the press thumbs down. They have loved him for so long, and admired his greatness (smartest man in the world), going to save the world, no matter how much he shamed us to the world. I think you deserve the treatment he gives you. Guess he has muzzled you, too.
The propper call (LOUDLY) is: "Mr. Nixon, When are you going to give a real press conference?". In 6 years the 37th president gave 37 press conferences. Obviously Mr. O. dislikes the press even more than President Nixon did!
