This short video from the NRA proves how stupid the gun grabbing politicians including Barack Obama really are. They are scared of how assault weapons look. The have no idea that an 30-06 will inflict much more damage than an AR-15.

It’s not at all that these people are ignorant about the 2nd Amendment or firearms in general. They know more than they are given credit for.
Think about the stupidity you see form them this way. These people are *acting* out their desires for a higher purpose, for a greater agenda. They are contributing to a specific topic of debate in order that they may further their goals and agenda, firearms restrictions being just one of them that they are currently using.
In order to further their goals and agenda, attacking the 2nd Amendment and firearms, being just one avenue, they are more than willing to lie, cheat, steal and mis-represent anything in order to achieve their goals. It matters not to them the truth or fiction of any given statement as all they must do in order to succeed is to continually make accusations, hoping something somewhere along the line will stick. They will simply use what claims they make that gets the least amount of backlash from the opposition. All the while the general public is wondering who is right and wrong.
While we may know the lies being told by the opposition and even the opposition knows some of what they are saying is lies, the problem is the general public does not know these things, thus they give both sides equal standing. And to simply point out the lies of the opposition is not good enuff because the general public will simply think the anti-gunners made an honest mistake, as this happens to all sides.
In the end the anti-gunners keeps their clout and stature because the general public is not smart enuff to understand that the anti-gunners are doing this on purpose and that this is only one part of a much larger agenda.
Michael– Deo Vindicabamur
Yep, I agree there is a hidden agenda which is becoming more and more transparent as each new “cause” surfaces.
you are absolutely right. The owebomb knows exactly what he is doing in presenting his straw dog arguments. If he can keep the gullible low information voters convinced that banning any type of weapon will stop crime he will continue to use that line of (lack) of reasoning and he does not have to confront the real reasons for the lawless killing in places like chicago. for the owebomb to admit that the total lack of morality and concern for fellow citizens is the reason for the crime he would have to denounce the culture of the city and we all know that he will not do that because it would slow down his agenda of monarchy, oligarthy and new world order. ie agenda 21.
Once the Liberals get to ban one type of gun, the rest will be much easier. Wish I could of afforded an AR15, they are light, have light recoil, durable, have versatile mountings for accessories, easy to maintain and they scare the hell out of Liberal Democrats…
They are NOT ignorant. They are using indoctrination techniques and propaganda to feed the iiliterate, and the uninformed in order to get them firmly in their corner so they can push their horrific agenda.
Forget which gun does what.
It doesn’t matter.
Gun control has nothing to do with guns….and everything to do with CONTROL.
The leftist-liberal agenda is THEM (the self-proclaimed ‘intellectual elite’) dictating life-style to EVERYONE else….since they feel that they are so (arrogantly) smarter than any of us.
For this reason liberals HATE rules that restrict them (such as the Constitution) but LOVE to create dictates for the rest of society (often excluding themselves and friends such as OwebamaCare).
Understand that today’s liberals are the result of the ‘anti-establishment’ hippies of the ’60′s and ’70′s who detested free enterprise and corporations. Refusing to join the productive workforce, they remained in academia….sowing this hatred in their impressionable pupils. (72-87% of collegiate professors are declared liberals/general populace: 20%)
What we are witnessing is EXACTLY what maligned-by-academia Joe McCarthy spoke of 60 years ago:
a coup d’etat from within.
Keep your temper hot….your blood cold….and your powder dry.
You are very right; it is all about control. The government somehow thinks it can disarm Americans. GFL!
Hawaii, you are partially right. Obama and the libs have 2 purposes for wanting tougher gun laws. Obama knows that most gun owners are conservatives and he dislikes conservatives so he wants to
“punish” conservatives by restricting their ownwership and use of weapons. No 2 is that he wants to make money off of our ownership of guns by making gun registration on all guns the law. That would require licensing guns like cars are licensed. He wants to hold “guns” for being responsible for their use in killings so he can sue the gun companies instead of the killers who generally have little money like the blacks who commit most of the crime against one another. Never a mention of that by the MSM or Obama. He needs their votes. Liberals never blame other liberals for their crimes. Harry Bellafonte proves that every time he opens his mouth.
My view is Obama want’s to ban all weapons that use the same ammo the military uses, so when he goes for his big gun grab and power seige, the American citizens can’t use all the captured ammo when the American citizens remove obama’s civil forces from the playing field. Obama’s pretty stupid, just use all seized obama civil terrorist force guns against his terrorist civil forces.
Anybody that wants squirrel guns and ammunition could pick up plenty after the smoke clears. Those of us that hunt deer will probably leave it on the unfortunates who think they will take our rifles. Why would I want an oversexed .22 when I HAVE a 30.06? I almost had to carry that plastic POS when I was in VN. Over the course of two tours I carried an M14, an M79 and M1911, a Remington 870, and finally I bought an M1 carbine from an ARVN.
The AR15 is probably a good varmint rifle. It is not a battle rifle. Too finicky and delicate, no real range, and no knockdown power. I like 165 gr soft points at 2550 fps when I want to reach out and touch.
@Huapakechi
I agree. The M16/AR15 are POS with no knock down power. An oversexed 22 was a good analogy. If one doesn’t believe or know this about those rifles they should read up on the M16/AR15. History doesn’t show them as being what they’re hyped to be. “Mattel Toy” aptly fits their name.
I too would prefer a 165 gr soft point at 2550 fps, but most people can’t handle that easily. An intermediate round with a solid firearm would be the Ruger Mini 30, which comes in 7.62×39 round. Even an SKS when properly adjusted/modified makes a good combat rifle. People should just stay away from the Mattel Toys with their oversexed 22 round.
Michael– Deo Vindicabamur
Those of us that hunt or have served know the difference. The 7.62×39 doesn’t have the range I prefer. I was spoiled for the M14 back in 1968 when I took basic, and the 30.06 has just a little bit more. Have a good recoil pad though.
@Huapakechi
I still agree.
I have two rifles chambered for the 30-06 and I have plenty of 30-06 ammo.
It is my caliber of choice. The damage they can do compared to a puny 223 is amazing. In reference to the recoil pad, that’s one reason most people need something a little less than a 30-06. A 7.62×39 is on par with a 30-30 round. Not a powerhouse by any means, but using the right bullet it can be a stopper at short to medium ranges. And the Ruger Mini 30, well they don’t come any tougher than that rifle.
Michael– Deo Vindicabamur
I could wish for two 30.06 rifles, but I can only shoot one at a time. I got a Remington 760 for cheap and it’s now my favorite. Same action as my Remington 870 12 gage, and it even has the same trigger group.
I like the design of the Ruger Mini 30. I’d prefer to have it chambered 7.62×51 but we take what we can get. I’ve had fantasies of an M1 carbine chambered in 40 caliber as well. One of these days I might have the money…..
@Huapakechi
I’m getting too old to do much serious shooting any more. You may have just read my comment concerning senility. I used to be a decent shot out past 750 yards, but age shows no mercy to anyone or anything. I’ll try and do what I can do depending on what circumstances dictate.
When I was young I had hoped to just live a peaceful life and mind my own business. I was too naive and gullible to know the federal government wanted my body and soul. I found out differently under King Bush I and then King Clinton made it even more clear. By then I had been long out of college and I actually played in politics a while. I went to DC several times lobbying for a few causes, specifically gun rights. I was connected very well with the NRA and in state politics. (I had a small but notable hand in getting concealed carry into NC.)
Under King Clinton and the resultant shortages, I said I would not let that happen to me again, for I knew it would. Sure enuff we are witnessing this today. I’ve been in DC and Raleigh enuff to know that things are NOT what they appear concerning politics. There really are groups of people that wishes to make you their slaves. This battle takes place every time congress or a state legislature is in session. There really are people that wishes to rule you, me, your state, country, and even the world. And they use any other group of people, pitting them against other groups of people causing divisiveness in order they can come in and play peace maker, while all the time making laws and rules that favors them at everyone elses expense.
The questions now are; How many or how much of the American public is aware of this? Are they going to try and oppose these people by force, because force is all they will understand? Do these people have the capability to oppose those that wish to enslave everyone? Can people understand that it is the “educated” that is mainly behind these goals? What will it take to cause people to actually resist such usurpation of our sovereignty and freedoms? And I could ask many more questions, but you get the idea….
All I wanted was to live my life in peace and die a free man… Now I am regulated as to how I will die and I will be taxed for it! I can’t have peace even in death! I’m simply tired of the continual grinding down…
Michael– Deo Vindicabamur
I can sympathize with you, but as a used car salesman once confided to me: “It’s not the age that gets ya, it’s the mileage and neglect.”
I’ve stayed away from the whores in state and national politics as much as I could. My experience in intel soured me on professional manipulators.
When faced with an intolerable situation, one can only do one’s best to eliminate the cause of that situation.
I’ve been shot, stabbed, and hanged, all before I was 21. I’ve also learned to be devious and to economize my efforts. Anything I do may well benefit my children more than myself, but that’s the way it’s supposed to be, isn’t it?
The American people are being made more aware of the quislings in our midst every day, and they can easily identify the lies and broken promises put forth by the cabal currently running this nation. Don’t give up on ‘em.
As Heinlein advises, “Be wary of strong drink, it can make you shoot at tax collectors. And miss.”
well gee Newseditor—they have you writing about the Gun issue and the 2nd Amendment–instead of demanding a competent Budget –or an attempt at crafting a policy to address problems —instead of behavior that foments them
don’t you at least think there’s a tiny line of logic that suggests that this is their intent?
The dumbies aren’t so dumb. They want to disarm us because they plan to attack us;assault us and our familites. They don’t want any resistance from us. Criminals DON’T WANT their victims armed. The reason is obvious. Our government is criminal.
@christian
You’re exactly right, as strange as that may sound to some people.
Every despot and tyrannical regime there has ever been has worked under the same MO. Hitler is the most notable of recent history, but so too is Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao, and most every other oppressive government you can think of. You said it best is stating, “Criminals don’t want their victims armed.” That goes for criminals in government also!
Michael– Deo Vindicabamur
“Never forget, even for an instant, that the one and only reason anybody has for taking your gun away is to make you weaker than he is, so he can do something to you that you wouldn’t let him do if you were equipped to prevent it. This goes for burglars, muggers, and rapists, and even more so for policemen, bureaucrats, and politicians.” – Aaron Zelman
The deadliest sniper in Marine Corps history, Carlos Hathcock (93 confirmed kills in Vietnam) primarily relied upon a 30-06 with what would be comparatively described as a crude scope by today’s standards to kill his adversarial enemy. It was used then and is used today as a wildlife / game rifle. So these morons in Congress who couldn’t find their backsides with both hands think that banning firearms that have something on them that make them look like military firearms is the wave of the future? Of course that’s a ruse to get a foot in the door which they will then pry fully open so that all firearms can be banned. Good luck with that one. They can generate all the hot air and sign “snowflakes” to their little hearts content that gives them the supposed authority to do it but it ain’t gonna happen, not now, not ever without one helluva a fight. Are they up to it? We’ll see.
The theory for changing from 30-06 to .223 by the military was expense and practicality. The 30-06 kills, the .223 wounds, the idea was to force the enemy to use two people to aid one, where as the 30-06 kills one. Not to mention the power of the 30-06 vs. the .223 for distance and accuracy. They found that most soldiers didn’t fire at distance but waited until the range was much closer, and Congress knows all this.
“The theory for changing from 30-06 to .223 by the military was expense and practicality.”
Also practicability. Evaluation of infantry combat in both World War II and Korea showed that the greatest use of personal longarms (rifles) was for suppressive fire and reconnaissance by fire, which were effectively not aimed at particular targets. The original intention of U.S. infantry training since the earliest years of our national army (from the Spanish-American War forward, with emphasis on World War I) was to make long-range rifle marksmen of our individual soldiers and Marines. To this purpose the Enfield and Springfield rifles chambered in .30-06 were superbly suited.
When U.S. divisions got to the front during 1917-18, the Allied liaison officers were stunned by this fact. Not since the earliest days of the British Expeditionary Force (that “contemptible little army”) in 1914-15 had real riflemen appeared in such numbers on the largely static battlefields of France.
But for reconnaissance by fire and suppressive (“keep their heads down”) fire at the ranges most common in infantry combat, you didn’t need big, propellant-heavy, long-ranging .30-06 ammunition. A little, intermediate-range cartridge derived by way of popular varmint-hunting practices – like the Remington .223 – was just fine.
And a rifleman could carry a boatload more of ‘em, conferring higher volume of fire upon the rifle squad in action. You want to “reach out and touch someone” on the battlefield? That’s the job of the designated marksmen, maybe even including trained snipers equipped with heavy, larger-caliber longarms specialized for that purpose.
By the bye, forget about these “Liberal” idiots’ lack of familiarity with firearms in their yammers about “assault weapons.”
Have any of these bloated damned fools ever considered the wound ballistics involved in gunshot injuries inflicted by .223 and 5.56mm projectiles versus those intrinsic to the use of .30-06, 7.92mm, .308 Winchester, 7mm, and other types of ammunition commonly used in hunting deer and other medium-sized game animals?
How stupid do you have to be in order to suck as one of these “Liberal” fascist gun-gropers, anyway?
Our little brown brothers in S.E.Asia didn’t have the physical stature to handle an M14, so the geniuses (sarc) decided to build a toy suitable for them. Eugene Stoner handed them a decent rifle although the .308 version failed in testing. Then they decided to change the manufacture specs and powder to save more money, and issued the plastic toys without cleaning kits. proxmire deserves his special place in hell for the soldiers his bean counters killed.
Nobody bothered to ask the VC or NVA how they cared for casualties. It was my observation that they usually ignored ‘em until the fight was over.
How stupid do liberals have to be? When they get all pissy about cosmetic changes to a .22 rimfire, the answer is obvious.
@Huapakechi
It was Ralph Nader who authorized the powder change and with-held the cleaning kits for the M16s. He also changed the specs for chrome lining/chambers to regular steel.
Michael– Deo Vindicabamur
Are we discussing the same ralph nader? When did ralph nader have anything to do with R&D or procurement? I couldn’t find a word that might suggest he was ever employed by the government in any capacity. Even though he’s a sleazy ambulance chaser (I owned three Corvairs, magnificent sport cars), ya have to provide some sort of verifiable source to that charge.
@Huapakechi
My bad…..
It was actually Robert McNamara that I had in mind. Why I wrote Nader I can only attribute to old age and senility…..
Here was what I was thinking of:

Supposedly the M16 A4 of today has all its’ bugs worked out. However to me that still doesn’t change the fact it is a complicated firearm that is a short range weapon. The gun and cartridge was specifically designed for close combat. Wikipedia has a decent article on the M16 and the intent of its’ design, but I personally believe in future warfare will not be fought under the criteria the M16 was designed for. At least not on as large a scale as originally planned for by military officials.
Wiki here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M16_rifle
From my reading of Robert McNamara, it was he who caused the premature and un-necessary deaths of many soldiers. I blame no one but him…. He was the king of *bean counters*!
Michael– Deo Vindicabamur
Chicken necked bean counters with no possible personal risk sent too many good troops to their deaths by providing them with defective weapons and equipment.
A friend of mine has told me that the M14 is enjoying a resurgence in the armed forces. He carried one in Iraq. The M4 and SAW have severe overheat problems at high rates of fire, and they fail.
I’ve got to agree with you. My problems usually present as an inability to recall words or names, even when I can picture the person I am talking about. That little problem really pissed off the most recent ex wife, especially when I’d start an introduction and forget her name. Too many head injuries.
There’s a book titled “The Man Who Thought His Wife Was a Hat” that explains the results of brain trauma.
Lets face it, from the enactment of the Patriot Act to recent executive orders it all points to a looming turmoil that may include civil war and the government preparation of it. The spark that ignites this tinderbox will be the confiscation of guns, we all have seen it happen throughout history, register, ban, confiscate and seize power. This has happened recently in the UK, Australia and Canada.
Then they will be able to implement any Orwellian type laws or ideals upon its people, including population control or selective genocide. The founders of America knew power would corrupt and they provided a means for us to combat any budding tyrannical seed buy providing us the right to own fire arms.
We are at the threshold of major changes in this country, the propaganda machines have already geared up, we are provide distraction, we are divided with race baiting and immigration, and narrow issues between parties. If there where middle ground that would mean a majority of Americans agree and have solidarity, and that is dangerous for growing a bigger more powerful government.
The banning of assault style of weapons has nothing to do with safety, they need to get their foot in the door, the assault style weapon is used and focused on because armies use them, they look intimidating and because of this the media is able to sway ignorant people into thinking that these gun should be considered bad. When they, the media, talk of semi automatic weapons, they show a film clip of a fully automatic gun being fired, that is the subtle deception that never get pointed out, so gullible people never get the truth to have the freedom to make their own intelligent opinions. Brainwashing in America is legal.
Our media has become a propaganda machine not just from their terribly slanted news, but, also through the content they air constantly in their television shows. Anyone who tries to defend their second amendment rights will not be portrayed as a patriot, but, as a violent unpredictable radical extremist. Anyone suspected of defending their rights will have the Darth Vader garbed government goons surrounding their home and breaking down their door in the early morning hours.
Many feel this wont happen in America, they don’t see the signs that the stage being set, but, when its time and they feel comfortable, the suddenness of actionn will be like a bear trap being sprung.
It is easier to sway large masses of people than individuals, in mass you only have to speak in broad general terms without the finer points of specifics and there usually no questions garnered, if questions are asked the it is easy to deflect the question. With individuals or small groups there are direct questions and specifics have to be discussed, this is where deflection and general statements do not work. This is the reason why, in real town hall meetings, politicians really look bad and lose ground. Strategic speech is used by any dictator who knows his salt.
If we allow them to ban the ARs and AKs, then they’ll come after the others that are more powerful.
Then they will call your scope, bolt action deer rifles “sniper rifles” and come after them.
And on and on until we are totally disarmed and defenseless (against them).
DHS and other alphabet agencies have recently purchased over 1.8 BILLION rounds of hollow point ammo – enough to shoot every man, woman, and child in the country 5 times or more – ammo that’s illegal for military use under international law, and have just ordered more and an additional 7,000 FULLY AUTOMATIC “personal defense” weapons. How does anyone with the capability of rational thought escape the conclusion that our government is preparing for a war on its own citizens?
Feinstein, Schumer, Obama, Holder, Bloomberg, Cuomo, and their whole gang are tyrant wannabes. To them, anyone who does, or might, oppose their control over every aspect of our lives, is “a criminal” because they said so.
To quote a few of their heroes, with explanatory comments in ( ):
“Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun.” – Mao
(They revere Mao and the way he ruthlessly grabbed power in China. The fact that he murdered about 100 million Chinese to do it is, to them, a “feature,” not a “bug.”)
“If the opposition disarms, well and good. If it refuses to disarm, we shall disarm it ourselves. … The only real power comes out of a long rifle. … Everyone imposes his own system as far as his army can reach. … We don’t let them have ideas. Why would we let them have guns? … The death of one man is a tragedy. The death of millions is a statistic.” — Joseph Stalin
“The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to allow the subject races to possess arms. History shows that all conquerors who have allowed the subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by so doing. Indeed, I would go so far as to say that the supply of arms to the underdogs is a sine qua non for the overthrow of any sovereignty.” — Adolf Hitler
(These psychopathic sociopaths in our government – and THEY ARE PRECISELY THAT, never make the mistake of doubting it – believe that they are anointed to be our rulers and that we are the equivalent of Hitler’s “subject races.” And we know what they did to “them.”)
Don’t tell me, “It can’t happen here in America.” To borrow a quote from Mike Vanderboegh,
“Anyone who tells you that ‘It Can’t Happen Here’ is whistling past the graveyard of history. There is no ‘house rule’ that bars tyranny coming to America. History is replete with republics whose people grew complacent and descended into imperial butchery and chaos.”
Hitler disarmed the Jews and others, then murdered millions
Stalin disarmed the Russians, them murdered millions
Mao disarmed the Chinese peasants, then murdered nearly 100 million.
The Turks disarmed the Armenians, then murdered 1.5-2 million.
Pol Pot disarmed the Cambodians and murdered millions.
Rwanda disarmed its ethnic groups, then murdered millions.
The list goes on … about 262 MILLION people murdered BY THEIR OWN GOVERNMENTS in the 20th century – AFTER they allowed those governments to disarm them. See: http://www.hawaii.edu/powerkills/20TH.HTM
They ALL thought “It can’t happen here” – until they were disarmed and it started, then it was too late. Don’t make the same mistake. Don’t EVER let your government disarm you.
The Founders knew that government, if not constrained at every step, will continue to accumulate power and control until it becomes tyranny. That’s why they feared standing armies and insisted that the “right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”
“A tyrannical rule cannot in any reasonable construction be accounted lawful, and therefore the disturbance of such a government cannot be esteemed seditious, much less traitorous.” – Thomas Aquinas
When Injustice becomes Law, Resistance becomes Duty – Thomas Jefferson
Take the pledge:
http://oathkeepers.org/oath/2012/12/19/my-personal-pledge-of-resistance-against-any-attemp-to-disarm-us-by-means-of-an-assault-weapons-ban/
Even sportsmen themselves may have “missed the boat” when the term “semi-automatic” came into common use, rather than the term “autoloading”, which was an alternative term used when autoloading firearms became available. It is so easy to confuse “automatic” (fully automatic, i.e., machine guns) with semi-automatic (autoloading, i,e., “one pull, one shot”). I kind of wish we had adopted the term “autoloading” which is a little less scary and nebulous than “semiautomatic”. But that’s all water under the bridge now and we’re stuck with the term “semi-automatic” and its attending confusion.
I agree that the war on the Second Amendment is part of a greater agenda, because if the Second Amendment is regulated or legislated out of existence, all the other freedoms in our Bill of Rights will follow because the government will no longer fear any resistance from its citizens.
I am a member of the NRA because I care about our freedoms and the NRA fights to protect those freedoms. I think every responsible firearm owner needs to support the NRA, whether by active membership or by monetary donations. The NRA needs members who will be informed about attacks on our rights and will be in a position to appeal to their elected officials at every level of government to make their voices heard. But membership dues don’t cover the costs of supporting legislative and court battles or fighting the lies of the liberal media. These funds must come from everyday people like you and me, not billionaires like George Soros or Michael Bloomberg. We all know who George and Michael support with their billions. It’s a kind of “David and Goliath” scenario, but we all know who won that round and with what.
