The National Rifle Association (NRA) warned the United Nations on Wednesday that the effort to craft international rules for weapons sales will go nowhere in Congress if it includes civilian arms.
Wayne LaPierre, the CEO of the powerful lobby group, said 58 senators have pledged to oppose the treaty if it covers civilian weapons, fearing an infringement of America’s gun rights.
“I am here to announce NRA’s strong opposition to anti-freedom policies that disregard American citizens’ right to self-defense. No foreign influence has jurisdiction over the freedoms our Founding Fathers guaranteed to us,” LaPierre said at the UN Arms Trade Treaty Conference in New York.
“The only way to address NRA’s objections is to simply and completely remove civilian firearms from the scope of the treaty. That is the only solution. On that, there will be no compromise.”
The UN will be negotiating the treaty throughout the month of July. If the members involved in the effort all agreed on the final product, it would still need to garner a two-thirds majority in the Senate to be binding on the United States.

Under no situation should our United States be subject to UN treaties when our nation’s rights are trampled on. NO to the treaty, and NO to Hillary Clinton’s attempt to get this treaty through. She will be signing off on her political future if she continues to support such a treaty!

The UN Small Arms Treaty shouldn’t go anywhere near Congress even if civilian arms are not mentioned, because, eventually, we know that it will be ammended to include them at a later date. Don’t trust the U.N. their Charter was written by communist’s. What can communist’s offer me that I do not already have. NOTHING! Not only that, but the President of Iran Iamanutjob is helping craft the treaty. HELLO! Wake up and smell the coffee! We don’t want him to have nukes, he won’t want us to have guns.
What in the heck is going on in our United States? That which was elected to lead our Government giving orders to his obediant head dog who runs the state dept. for him, thinks that because she is a female head dog, can just do what the head cheese tells the head dog to do without the regards of the people of the United States. I DON’T THINK SO, MISTER? If the attempt to pull the wool over the Citizens of America, and the little pups, that the people elected by the people, signs it into law, those pups will not just have possibly started a rebellion, they will have also, ended their political careers as well, and if they do not believe that will happen, just remember 2010 healthcare debacle mid general elections,and how many democratic pups LOST their JOBS, if the pups thought that 2010 was bad, the pups would NOT have seen anything in comparison. The American people will have a clean house, and the dung cleaned out by the exiting pups who LOST their laid back retirement job, because they have a very hard time listening to the American people. So, I hope we THE PEOPLE will not have to defend our rights because of ignorance. America have we had enough of this obvious attempt to take over our country? Are we just going to close our eyes to the obvious, and let it happen? We have a few leaders from the NRA that is working dilently to keeping our 2nd Amendment Rights, and personally I am very thankful that he has gone forth in front of the UN to warn them, now it is up to us to stand behind the words he spoke in front of the UN. Let us ALL stand together to keep America FREE ay whatever the cost may possibly be, GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
