Those crazy “birthers” are citing National Public Radio.
Really? NPR?
Archives for the tax-supported organization reveal that a 2008 report described then-Sen. Barack Obama as “Kenyan-born” and a “son of Africa.”
NPR’s promotion for the story included a brief description of West African correspondent Ofeibea Quist-Arcton, who “describes the stories that have been exciting, including the U.S. presidential race of Kenyan-born Sen. Barack Obama.”
After discussing various issues developing in Africa at the time – such as Kenya’s violent elections, the attacks in Zimbabwe and the presidency of South Africa – the conversation on the program “Tell Me More” turned to Obama.
At about 9:45 of the audio report, interviewer Michelle Martin said “a son of Africa. Barack Obama is poised to at least have the opportunity to become the next president of the United States.” She asked, “How does this campaign look overseas?”
Quist-Arcton responded by describing Obama as a member of the Kenyan Luo tribe and reporting how Africa viewed the race.

The link to the NPR article dated October 9, 2008 has this "correction" on it, "Correction
An earlier summary of this story that appeared online incorrectly identified the birthplace of Barack Obama. The audio correctly states that Obama's father was born in Kenya."
Mistake or censorship? Who knows?
If it can be corroborated by DNA analysis that Obama is the son of Stanley Ann Dunham and Barack Hussein Obama a Luo tribesman, he is not a natural born citizen eligible to the Office of President under Art. II Section 1 of the Constitution, wherever he was born. "Natural born citizen" is a term of art meaning one born in the land of which both parents are citizens. It does not mean simply "citizen" in the generic sense used in the 14th amendment. The two additional modifiers, "natural" and "born" must mean something, else why would they be there? Obama the Luo was not a U.S. citizen. Hence corroboration of the generally accepted parentage of Obama would mean that he is ineligible. But, even if he were a natural born citizen at birth and simply adopted by Stanley Ann and the alien, there is ample cause to suspect that any claim to citizenship was later forfeited or renounced, or both. The term "natural born citizen" subsumes "citizen". You can't be a natural born citizen if you're not a citizen at all. The situation cries out for a thorough investigation, not only of his origins, but of his life.
When Obama was running for Senator, the Major News Paper for the African West Coast had a full page article mentioning "Kenyan Born Barack Obama" running for U.S. Senate.
