As the mainstream media synchronized their watches over the Shirley Sherrod affair, the object of their little trench raid was clear. Demonize Andrew Breitbart for the unethical publication of a video featuring Ms. Sherrod uttering racist remarks at an NAACP awards dinner.
You could see the strategy. The MSM wanted to discredit and demonize Breitbart so that he could be fired or marginalized, just like Rush Limbaugh was fired from ESPN for the thoughtcrime of suggesting that the media wanted Donovan McNabb to succeed as the Philadelphia Eagles’ quarterback because he was black.
But then I thought: Yeah, but who can fire Andrew Breitbart?
When Rush Limbaugh wanted to buy the St. Louis Rams, the Ruling Elite trailed a few stories about his supposed racist remarks. They pressured the NFL, and the NFL could pressure the syndicate to remove Rush.
But Andrew Breitbart? Can anyone fire him?

Cougar, you're probably right. I missed the tape and the opening salvo but a friend emailed me some very interesting information on Ms Shirley Sherrod. As a WW II veteran I took part in a local GI farm school, drawing a $90.00 check every month. I don't remember some of my dates but think it was in 1948 after another way closed up on me. This was private in that the government had nothing to do with it. So I changed course and focused on the farm. I think it was the end of the fiscal year in July of 1949 rather than 1950, At any rate the county agent still had money in the till that had been appropriated for cost sharing projects like building farm ponds, terraces, planting cover crops and other so called conservation efforts. Like the seat belt, these all had some merit but the government had no Constitutional authority to impose them. We had about 30 days left of the old year and the USDA was desperately trying to sign us up for anything they could give a stamp of approval on so they could show an empty till. I asked why we didn't just carry the funds over into the next fiscal year which any business would have done. Talk about a scalded cat. They let me know that they had lobbied very hard for a 15% increase in very badly needed appropriations and now to have more money than they could spend……??? That was far too embarrassing to consider, This built in ratchet has led us to the stimulus package that takes all your working capital to fund it, forcing debt financing instead of capital financing. Then the government makes sure it is the only source from which to borrow. I told them if thats the way the ball bounced I was out of the game. I was having a real struggle to make ends meet but after resigning and losing the $90 It was no more difficult to make ends meet. In fact, I began to pull ahead and I could not raise any of the covered crops without an allotment and I would not sign for an allotment. The USDA has continued to put the farmer behind the eight ball of debt through their approved practices and cost sharing. Now I find that Sherrod has had a finger in that corruption pie and there is a lot of information just under the surface that we need to mainline. Breitbart may have been snookered on the tape but The Left may have been the more snookered in trying to play this joker of a race card. Lets all pull together and get to the truth of how these colored farmers were beat out of their unconstitutional rights. Incidentally. my farm is paid for and I am out of debt but still have some heavy medical bills to meet. If we had kept the government out of all of this, I believe what I fork over in co pay is sufficient to take care of my medical bills and all the rest is government waste.

All these people who say Breitbart "edited" the tape to make Ms. Sherrod look bad don't know what they are talking about.
Breitbart received a segment of the talk Ms. Sherrod gave. He didn't cut it up and make it look as though she said something she didn't. She said what she did on her own and made herself look racist. I watched the entire 42 minutes of her talk and came away with the same impression, i.e. she holds racist views against whites. It's obvious as the nose on my face. AND, she encourages black people to get jobs at the DA because they are cush jobs that people never lose. In other words, "we deserve jobs and we are going to get jobs and just coast!" Wonderful. Way to go, Shirley.
Another thing that disturbed me about her is that she claims to have "prayed" about the challenges she faced during her journey and experience with all these racists. But when asked about Breitbart during the recent CNN interview, Sherrod says she wants to "get back at him". Wait a minute. Since when do people of faith (Christian faith) focus on getting revenge? I would seriously question her sincerity of faith as a result of her comments. And after listening to her husband talk about black radio stations and voting, I would say this couple puts their black victimization theories ahead of any well-grounded faith in a higher power.
