No Media Coverage Allowed As Remains Of Elite U.S. Troops Return To U.S. Tuesday

The loss of dozens of elite American troops to a Taliban rocket-propelled grenade is a window on the war to come — focused increasingly on the type of special operations the troops were pursuing when their helicopter crashed.

The U.S. military released new details Monday about the crash in the Tangi Valley, a dangerous area of Wardak province on the doorstep of the Afghan capital. The 30 U.S. troops, seven Afghan commandos and an Afghan interpreter who died were taking part in one of thousands of nighttime operations being conducted annually across the nation.

The sheer number of these missions is evidence that progress in the nearly decade-long war depends more on efforts to kill or capture insurgents than the overarching strategy of building support for the Afghan government at grassroots levels. And these missions will take on relatively more importance as troop levels decline.

Saturday’s crash of the CH-47 Chinook helicopter was deadliest single loss for U.S. forces in the war and raised anew questions in the United States about why U.S. troops are still fighting the unpopular conflict.

U.S. leaders vowed on Monday not to let the loss rewrite the war strategy.

HMMM. Wonder what the troops knew. Funny how these accidents? happen , I remember the list of deaths during Clinton. Dead men don't tell tails they say

  2. So far they are using the taliban rocket story but if there were afghan troops on board my red flag warnings are on high alert..this whole incident and government explanation has a false ring.

  3. Geral Sills says:

Dead men don't talk, so the fake Osama Bin Laden story gets to remain in the minds of the little brain voters. Anyone who believed all that hype about the Seal Team Six and the recovery of Bin Laden story shouldn't be allowed to vote, for the producers of this story are the ones enslaving this nation. Bin Laden has been dead for ten years, and the whole mission was a stage production. Apparently word was getting out that some of the Seals wouldn't stick with the script, so to make sure they do, kill them all.

  4. I don't need media coverage to pay my silent respect for our country's finest and their families. My God give the families comfort and peace through this trying time and I know that their loved ones have been welcomed into the loving arms of God.

  5. I so agree with this action!

They should be honored & their families allowed to heal without the media invading their privacy.

God Bless all of them & their families.

Strange..what a coinicedence??? the Seal team gets killed that supposedly killed Bin Laden…What makes this really weird is I have felt all along since I caught a online news item that Bib Laden had died in 2002 of kidney failure and the government actually had his remains frozen in ice.. Also in the article I read Bush was going to have bin laden unfrozen as he felt he was going to lose the election but as it turned out he didn't need to do it . Just when Obama was slowly heading towards the beginning of the 2012 election cycle with slowly eroding confidence in his ability to lead this country out of a crisis this bin Laden thing pops up. SO what the He** id really going on. This government and its all of the sudden we get the news that a seal team had had killed Bin Laden. This is just too weird . I have a gut feeling all this was a charade and a set up to make Obama look good as Bush sought to do. The BS from this government is getting too deep…get the hip waders out and get them on for more of the same.

    • bamadick probably gave the taliban the gps coordinates of the chopper or put a marker on it so a fifth grader could hit it. This is highly suspicious.

  7. Oh how this stuff stinks, containment, containment, containment. See what’s on my “Children” page. Ten million, 20 million, 30 million, 40 million… Hello Sharia flag, for English please press 2!

P.S. Did you vote this week at “you cut”? http://majorityleader.gov/YouCut/
They have removed the “and tell us what else to cut” link.

  8. Who gave the order to put all those troops in one helicopter that was prone to greater damage than the
Black Hawk helicopters they would normally use. I think the person that gave the order should be
prosecuted and never allow such an order to be given again.
