Since such records have been kept, no Democrat presidential candidate has ever lost the Catholic vote and won the general election. Republicans can win a general election despite losing the Catholic vote but a Democrat simply can’t. This makes Barack Obama’s war on Christians in general and Catholics in particular so dangerous for him and his Party.
The results of a new Pew survey of voters by religious affiliation holds devastating news for Obama’s chances of re-election. The ease with which it can be found proves this news is being purposely ignored by a delusional media that believes Obama is cruising toward an easy re-election.
Pew found Mitt Romney with a commanding lead among Evangelical and Catholic voters that has actually grown by 5 and 8 points respectively in just the past month. Obama now trails Mitt Romney 73/20 among Evangelicals and 57/37 among white Catholics.
The significance of Pew’s findings among white Catholics grows geometrically when added to that of Evangelicals because it means that Obama is also on track to lose by a very large margin among whites, who make up 2/3 of the electorate in November.
Over the history of polling by religious affiliation, the Catholic vote has served as a 90% accurate predictor of final results. Moreover, the winning Catholic percentage has consistently been very close to the winner’s victorious percentage in the general election – Obama’s 54% of the Catholic vote was the same as his overall winning margin in 2008.
Democrats like Hubert Humphrey in 1968 have even won the Catholic vote with landslide numbers (56/37) and still lost their race. Conversely, George McGovern was pummeled in 1972 when he lost Catholics by 20 points.
The fight is just getting underway.
The hard numbers point to an electoral disaster for Obama and his Party next November. To avoid this total wipe-out, Obama has to reverse himself and back down from his demands that the Catholic Church change her doctrine to suit him. Since that is not going to happen, the question becomes: how vigorously will the Catholic Church fight back?
If a new video titled Test of Fire: Election 2012 from a group called Catholics Called to Witness is an indicator of what is coming from Catholics who are determined to defeat Obama, his Election night will be a nightmare. This brief video contains a chilling reminder that the way a Catholic votes next November will be recorded for “eternity.” This time, Catholics are playing for keeps and starting with a huge lead.

Ron Paul might be a good VP candidate, but I could not support him for president because is simply too old. Yes, he has made some excellent points so far. However, he has also put his foot DEEP in his mouth and shown his total ignorance on some topics. These times convince me Paul’s age is already affecting him mentally, even if only occasionally at this time. We need a president who will have FULL mental faculties throughout his/her term(s) of office. Are you absolutely, 100% sure this will be the case with Ron Paul?
Ah, the same constant idiotic crap about Dr. Paul having uttered some kind of gaffes (precisely what mistakes? when? where?) and how he’s supposed to have demonstrated “total ignorance on some topics,” but never specification of the topics of which he’s supposed to be ignorant, or how any other candidate on either side of the contest has knowledge superior to that demonstrated by Ron Paul.
I originally met the guy at a convention almost a quarter of a century ago. We discussed some current matters of concern to the medical profession, then talked political economics (mostly about how each of us, respectively, had gotten interested in Austrian School theory and scholarship), and he doesn’t sound a goddam bit less acute and on top of things now than he did back in the 1980s. He was sharp as hell then, and he reads and responds to points in interviews and debates today on the basis of easy access to an impressive fund of knowledge.
And unlike either the Etch-a-Sketch or the TelePrompTer-in-Chief, Dr. Paul thinks and speaks on the basis of a solid grip on every aspect of his campaign policies. He can’t be flummoxed, confused, or caught havering.
Heck, the greatest difficulty he seems to have is “dumbing down” his responses so that he doesn’t blow the lamestream media lightweights completely out of their loafers.
Well, if they weren’t stupid, they wouldn’t be “Liberals,” would they?
And then the babbling about Ron Paul’s age, the last despairing whine of somebody who’s really reaching way up there around the level of his splenic flexure in a desperate effort to find something not absolutely false with which to evade appreciation of the fact that – out of all the candidates standing for election this year – Ron Paul is the only one with both the record and the plan to fix the flaming mess into which we’ve been dumped by the “business-as-usual” professional prostitutes of the Boot On Your Neck Party.
OK, so you’re a passionate Ron Paul supporter. That’s fine but it’s a lost cause which I suspect is partly the source of your passion at this point, i.e. frustration. I must admit yours is the first post I’ve seen in these forums that actually has complete sentences with reasonably intelligent arguments favoring the candidate of your choice. Only problem is – Ron Paul has been, is now and for the rest of his political life will be a loser in American presidential politics. Why? Because while he has some domestic policy ideas that are sound and constitutionally legitimate his isolationist foreign policy philosophy would in these perilous times be nothing short of disastrous not only for us but for the free world at large. In any head to head campaign for the presidency he would be reduced to mince meat by the opposition on that issue alone. As much as you will no doubt be tempted to blast me in defense of your candidate for making that assessment, you needn’t bother, it’s water under the bridge. Ron Paul’s presidential candidacy on the republican ticket at least is history. Believe me, I feel your pain!
Romney is certainly no great improvement in my opinion. And yes the one post I did see that mentioned his Mormon faith as part of the kingdom of the cults, which you and one or two others condemned and scoffed at, was correct but it has little if anything to do with conservative’s distaste and distrust of Romney. He has demonstrated by word and deed that he can’t be trusted to say what he means and mean what he says. He has flip flopped all over the political landscape much like other so called moderates, RINOs, who have also been losers. If he’s indeed to be the only alternative to Obama I’ll reluctantly vote for him more as a vote against Obama than a vote for Romney. His choice of a running mate will be critical.
Congressional candidates for the Senate is where our focus needs to be but its hard to do that when the elephant in the room, Obama, is impossible to ignore. There are some good ones, true conservatives by their records, that are running for election. Three seats gained in the Senate is a reasonable and achievable goal.
Inasmuch as you’ve remarked on the grammatical quality of my post above, it’s pretty obvious that you’ve never read any of my other posts on this or any other online forum. If there’s anything of “frustration” impelling my expressions of support for Dr. Paul’s campaign, it’s nothing new. Hell, like most constitutionalists, I’ve been suffering “frustration” since the Rockefeller Republicans sabotaged Barry Goldwater’s presidential campaign in 1964, and I’ve been expressing that “frustration” with the Red Faction for more than half a century.
As for my “passion….” Well, that “passion” is for the U.S. Constitution and the conduct of civil government under the strict rule of law. Ron Paul is simply the single political candidate who shares that “passion” most fervently, and because of that I support his presidential aspirations today as I’ve been supporting them for the past couple of decades.

Neither Gingrich nor Paul have even a remote chance of getting the nomination but I hope both of them stay in the race until Tampa. Their continued presence will incease the possibility of an open convention. An open convention is the best chance we have of nominating a Conservative with a real chance of defeating obama in November.
It is time to give it up Daniel-from-TN. An open convention is the last thing the Tea Party and GOP want. But it is exactly what Obama wants, in fighting at the GOP Convention. Both Gingrich and Paul have a zero chance right now of winning the nomination, and if they do they each have a lot more baggage for Obama to throw out there than Romney does. If you want to keep Romney in check, then help elect more conservitives to the Congress, and help capture the Senate. The main objective is to defeat Obama and eliminate Reid’s control of the Senate, as well as keep Pelosi in the minority.
You have valid points but I have a question. Why are obama, the Liberals, and the MSM rooting for Romney? The answer is simple. They all know Romney cannot beat obama. That’s why we need an open convention – to nominate someone who CAN defeat obama.
Romney already has two strikes against him:
1) He’s the Republican establishment candidate going against an incumbent Democrat president. It’s been over 100 years since an establishment Republican defeated an incumbent President (Reagan was not the establishment candidate in 1980)
2) RomneyCare will bite him in the end. Romney continues attempts to justify his actions instead of stating it was a mistake and he’s learned from that mistake.
I disagree with your statement that Gingrich and Paul could provide ammo for obama to use against Romney in an open convention. Liberals have items against Romney that have yet to be revealed. In past elections, Liberals did not show all their cards until just a few days before the elections, when it’s too late for a response from the Republican candidate.

I don’t listen to the MSM and haven’t for many years. I listen to and research candidates and then make up my own mind. I’ll give you just one example of why I will not support Paul. You can do your own research to find his other beliefs. In an interview several years ago Paul stated he belived ALL drugs should be legalized. Drugs like cocaine, heroin, etc. He believes legalizing them is the only way to stop the drug war.
PLEASE do not take my word for it. Check it out for yourself. In your research you will find other outlandish statements and beliefs from Ron Paul.
Why the devil are you muttering this like it’s some kind of big secret? Dr. Paul has been explicit about this for the past thirty years or so, to my personal knowledge, and he posts it on his Web site and speaks about it all the time.
There are good and sufficient reasons why Dr. Paul considers the federal “War on (Some) Drugs” both ineffective and illegal, and why you should, too.
First, it’s flagrantly unconstitutional. There’s nothing in Article 1, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution that empowers the Congress to criminalize the manufacture, possession, sale, or consumption of “Drugs like cocaine, heroin, etc.”
When the idiot progressives at the beginning of the 20th Century wanted the federal government to wage their insane “War on Demon Rum,” they had to amend the Constitution (ever read about the Eighteenth Amendment?) before Congress could lawfully act.
After the Prohibition years proved that the “War on Booze” not only didn’t stop people from drinking but increased government corruption and gave us Murder, Inc., and a powerful organized criminal underworld, we had to repeal the Eighteenth Amendment (which is why the Twenty-First Amendment had to be passed and ratified in 1933).
Okay, so has the U.S. Constitution been amended to empower the Congress to wage the “War on (Some) Drugs”?
Nope.
Now, is Dr. Paul a strict constructionist on the U.S. Constitution? You betcha.
Are you? If you want your insane “War on (Some) Drugs,” do what your fellow prohibitionists did in 1919, and amend the Constitution to make it legal. If you can’t do that, then you’re advocating government action outside the rule of law.

Second, Ron Paul is a medical doctor. All of us medical doctors know – because it’s been proven every time we’ve studied the problem – that habituation to psychoactive substances (and addiction, which is worse) is a problem that can’t be addressed by criminal sanctions any more effectively than you can reduce the incidence of tetanus by making it against the law to step on rusty nails.
Worse. You can vaccinate against tetanus. You can’t make people immune to opioids (like Heroin), stimulants (like cocaine and methamphetamine), sedatives (like Valium and booze), and the rest of the suite of psychoactive substances in our environment.
Third, and finally, there’s the plain obvious economic fact that by criminalizing any of these substances, you create what’s absolutely and unavoidably a government price support program for the criminal purveyors of these substances.
Our cities are infested with criminal gangs making huge profits selling crack cocaine. Mexico is in as near a state of civil war as makes no damned difference because these narcotrafficantes are dripping with money gotten by making and moving “controlled substances” up into these United States, and our Mombasa Messiah’s minion, Eric Holder, has been selling American handguns and assault rifles to those drug cartels in his Operation Fast and Furious.
One bunch of criminals – based in the White House – dealing to their political profit with another gang of criminals in Sinaloa.
So there’s three good and sufficient reasons why Dr. Paul advocates a complete end to the “War on (Some) Drugs,” not to “legalize” them but to decriminalize their use so that we can more effectively deal with the damage done by the drugs themselves (’cause habituation and addiction have to be treated medically, not by way of fines and prison terms) and put an end to the way the “Drug War” both corrupts our government officers and enriches organized crime.

Stevor, You need to learn a little more about Mormons. They are some of the most patriotic and loyal citicens you can find. And when they vote, they base it normally on their values, which in most cases, are family values. Mormons are not only some of the most industrious, but high achieving people that you can find. I was raised in the M church, but decided that for a few reasons, I needed to go elsewhere. I still have great respect for most and a lot of respect for Romney, even tho’ he wasn’t my first choice. M. Bachman was my elect and she exemplifies much of the same kind of values as Romney. If somehow, there is an election and he wins, I will be behind him 100%. I agree. The lesson has been throwing itself at Republicans for over 100 years, yet they REFUSE to learn it. Here’s the lesson. Without exception, everytime in the past 100 years the Republicans have nominated the Republican establishment candidate to run against an incumbent Democratic president, the Republicans lost. The ONLY time an incumbent Democrat was defeated was in 1980 when Reagan won the election. However, Reagan was NOT the Republican establishment candidate.
As far as a new party is concerned I believe the TEA Party is on the right track. They did not become a third party immediately because they know third parties have short lives and only split Republican votes, thereby insuring Democrat victories. Instead, they are slowly taking over the Republican Party from within. This is the same tactic the Liberals used to take over the Democratic Party starting in the late-50′s and ending in the mid-70′s. It will take several more years but I believe that one day the TEA Party will BE the Republican Party.

Most Mormons are people of great faith who have STRONG family and moral values. I had Mormon friends and I am Catholic and always will be. My Mormon friends were very warm and inviting and did nothing to recruit me to their faith. So get over it. Having someone in office that has TRUE moral values would be refreshing. I, to this day, have wonderful memories of my Mormon friends. ( We moved frequently so I lost track of my friends which was my loss).
Amen to that. Some of my best and most loyal friends are Mormon and I have to respect their focus on family. Maybe if the rest of us had placed the same emphasis on the family, we wouldn’t be in this mess.

Not to correct you but to make you correct: you need to check out the Mormon history where a handful of mormon foot soldiers defeated an entire company of U.S. military. This occurred during Pres. Z. Taylor and it caused the U.S. to work out a peace treaty, which brought Utah into the union. Also, the M. battalion sent a company into Mexico during the war with Mex. and their achievements were many, some of which were the settling of the SW., which at the time, our country was at war with many of the indigenous indian tribes.

As my people were among the first European settlers here 392 years ago I am a voracious reader of American history with all its high and low spots. This “Emperor With No Clothes” President has created more white racists than any President in history. Some friends I know who were ambivalent are now “haters”. I cringe with the “N” word coming back to life.

I do not think there has been so much hate in this country since the Civil War [Northern term] or War of Northern Agression [Southern term] and that led to America’s worst war casualties 1861-1865.
For those of you who are atheists go back and read about the British burning of Washington in the War of 1812 and the aftermath of carnage God turned loose on the British. We once were a favored nation. Now as we reject God we will face the consequences. Teaching kindergardners about homosexuality? Really? It’s done in Massachusetts. This should be offensive to all religious or atheist people.

The folks in my family came a bit later than yours – mostly during the 1890′s into the early 1900′s. They all came through Ellis Island and settled in the New York City area. My family is a mixture of German, Irish and Italian and as a kid I heard lots of stories about krauts, micks, and wops from the old folks. You never hear any of those terms used anymore. The difference is that these groups worked hard and they made sure that their children got an education. They instilled some morals and ethics into us and made sure we went to church and got some instruction in religion. Most white folks that I know have been open to blacks. Before retiring I worked for many large corporations and ran into people of all races at high levels. Corporations don’t worry about race – they worry about the bottom line – if you work efficiently and show some creativity and are conscientious they want to keep you around. You are right – the “N” word may come back in style. If you are white and you are watching groups like the Black Panthers spouting hatred toward whites and threatening to come into your neighborhood to shoot up the place and kill your friends and family you are going to react. It is the blacks that are creating the racism right now – if there is a reaction to it from whites, oh well – they asked for it. You can’t go around threatening people and expect them to love you for it. It’s been about 150 years since the civil war. When are black leaders going to start encouraging their followers to get an education and become productive members of society. Instead, all they do is encourage them to continue to be slaves and stay on welfare.

Don’t get me wrong – I despise Obama as much or more than most of the people commenting here. In my view, if we are to take back our country back we need to do two things. First, we must return to the religious values that this country was founded on. Our government under Obama has done everything it could to undermine the Judeo-Christian values, beliefs, and freedoms that formed a large part of what our democracy is based on. Obama has promoted muslims while diminishing christians and jews. This has to stop. Throughout history dictatorial governments have always suppressed religion and Obama is no different. Second, we must stop trashing our constitution. We must remove liberal judges, particularly in the 9th circuit court and stop liberal legislation from the bench. We must also elect politicians who seriously uphold our constitution. Through most of the Republican presidential primaries I have been pretty much neutral – I had two favorites (Cain and Bachmann) but they were removed early on. Since March, 1 of this year, after compelling evidence was presented regarding Obama’s phony birth certificate (which has been substantiated as a fraud my several other experts as well) and a fraudulent selective service card (a federal crime) the Republicans have refused to investigate Obama’s background and his eligiblity to be president. There are also many questions surrounding his social security card – originally issued to someone else who is now deceased – failure to pass an e-verify test. The Republicans have refused to look into this matter as well – this is a form of identity theft using a federal document – again it is a federal crime. We have wondered why they have refused to act. Now that Mitt Romney appears to have the nomination in the bag I have read a number of articles lately regarding his short list for a vice-presidential nominee. In every article I have read the names Marco Rubio and Bobby Jindal appear. Neither of these men are constitutionally eligible to be vice-president. To make it even worse. Marco Rubio is now trying to gain support for a Republican version of the “Dream Act”. With all the financial problems that our country is facing do we really need another entitlement program? Do we really need to be giving people that have thumbed their noses at our immigration laws benefits that are beyond those that our own legal citizens get? Our forefathers were concerned that a president or vice-president whose roots were too closely tied to a foreign nation may tend to make decisions that could be favorable to that foreign nation but not in the best interests of the U.S. Rubio, in my opinion is doing just that. We must have leaders that defend our Judeo-Christian heritage and uphold our constitution. As much as I want to see Obama go I am starting to wonder – are we just getting rid of one problem and putting another problem in its place. I have lost my confidence. I hope I am wrong about Romney. I hope he chooses a vp that has no controversy about his eligiblity. I hope that true conservative republicans will reject this new dream act.

In 2008 it is rumored that Hillary & Bill Clinton had evidence proving obama was not a US citizen at all, much less a natural born citizen. Just before Bill was about to make the evidence public a close friend of the Clintons was murdered. Bill received a message telling him to keep his mouth shut or he would be next. Bill hesitated but decided to reveal the evidence anyway. He then received another message telling him to be quiet or Chelsea would be next. Both of them have been quiet on that matter ever since.
The next may explain why Republicans have not addressed the matter of obama’s eligibility. It is rumored that members of Congress have received death threats warning them not to investigate obama’s eligibility or try to impeach him.
I hope both of these ARE just rumors: I hope neither is true. However, it would explain everyone’s lack of action if they were true.

Catholics have been energized by the outspoken courage of the bishops. Ted Nugent said that if Obama gets re-elected, he would probably be dead or in jail by this time next year. The bishops, many Catholics and others are taking the same chance. A friend of Obama owns the company in Spain which will be counting the votes in November. If Obama gets to stay in the Oval Office, there will very likely be much civil disobedience and passive resistance. If Obama calls in his National Civilian Service Corps, “as large and well funded as the army”. there are many in this nation who are as well armed.
Liberals are preparing for war. They have pushed the people for years; boldly since obama took office. The people are ready to push back and that push back MIGHT be in the form of civil war. The Liberals know this, which is why Homeland Security ordered 450 million rounds ammunition. What? Since Republicans can win without the Catholic vote, Catholic votes are not the deciding votes. Democrats have consistently gotten the Catholic vote when they win along with other votes. That doesn’t make Catholic votes any different from other votes. There is no evidence, new or otherwise, that Catholics may save Romney’s ill-fated candidacy.

Obama’s mandate is not just intended to force Catholics to obey his law requiring them to act against their religious beliefs. It is intended to establish his authority over all aspects of our lives.
1st Amendment: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” Obama recently passed another law taking away much of our rights to peaceably assemble and petition the government for a redress of grievances. This law makes it a felony for any person or group to approach any person or location deemed to be “protected” by the Secret Service. Even if you are not aware such person or location is “protected” you will be arrested.
I think Obama already knows he has lost the Catholic vote. You don’t win their vote by insulting them.
