From Jay Leno to Jay Uh-oh!
Three weeks into his move from late night to prime time TV, the comedian’s rating are on a slide, according to USA Today.
He has finished in last place every night since Sept. 21, and Monday he had only 4.5 million viewers — the fewest of his short stint.
NBC anticipated Leno would have a tough task competing with prime time dramas. But the white-haired host will have 46 weeks of original shows, while the dramas won’t come close to that.
“The big test will be how he does when repeats begin, and if he sees a surge,” John Rash of ad firm Campbell Mithun told USA Today. “If not, it’s particularly troublesome.”
