Will impeachment play in Peoria? A recent letter-to-the-editor proves the motion is picking up steam in every corner of the country. Mike Schwerer, a Navy vet, engaged in citizen activism in his local newspaper, The Peoria Journal Star. On Saturday, January 7, he replied to a local woman who spoke about the alleged achievements of Barack Hussein Obama:
I read with interest the Dec. 31 Spotlight letter by Barbara Penelton and signed by the “group of seven.” She was bemoaning the selection of Tavis Smiley to speak at the local event celebrating the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. because he dared to speak out against President Obama.
Perhaps she doesn’t believe in celebrating the diversity that Tavis represents. I don’t know, and it’s really none of my business. However, I do take exception to her statements about the great things Obama has supposedly done for blacks and citizens in general.
The history of the Democratic Party in the last 45 years is to make economic slaves of all of us. Obama is merely continuing that trend, which has hit the black family harder than most. In my younger days, the black family was much more viable. Today it is more rare for blacks to be husband and wife, raising children in a traditional family unit. But then the federal government has not done much to uphold family values for anybody.
Ms. Penelton may well think socialized medicine is a good thing, but I do not. You think health care is expensive now? ObamaCare’s mandatory provisions are in contradiction to the Constitution as well as Judeo-Christian values. The powers he expands are at the peril of our liberty.
Obama got us out of Iraq, but left that country in a Sunni/Shiite turmoil. The plan to get Osama bin Laden was in the works for many years. His foreign policy has consisted of insulting our long-term allies and has been a disaster in general.
Let’s talk about jobs bills. The government does not create wealth; private citizens create wealth. The government merely taxes money out of the economy and redistributes it to those who have their hands out. Isn’t 99 weeks long enough for unemployment payments? A better way of helping the poor is to lead them out of poverty, not make them comfortable in it. If the government would get out of the way of private business, we’d all be better off.
OK, so Washington spends money it doesn’t have and rebuilds something here or there. What happens when the work project cannot support itself and the money runs out? Stimulus comes to a dead end and the country is further in debt. And the payroll tax cut is a joke. What genius came up with a two-month extension? For most businesses, it’s more bother than it’s worth.
Just who is Obama working for when he bankrupts our nation with huge government giveaways, nationalizes some private industries, and plants Marxists throughout his administration? The only thing I can support concerning Barack Hussein Obama is a move for his impeachment!

My Friend Mr. Mike, I hope you do not mind me calling you Mr. Mike ,but thats what i used to call a very good friend of mine that past away a few years ago thank you,I did not retire from the Army but have been forced to stay at home and not able to work for the last ten years,the V.A. denies that my ailements are do to Agent Orange but that is something we have to deal with,if i could show you a pic of our living quarters when in the Nam,you,ll see that our tent is surrounded by barrels that were once filled with AO.Anyway enough of that i just wanted to let you know that there are a lot of us out there who know exactly how you feel.We were not welcomed when we returned and have been pretty much put on the back burner as you have.
Does it surprise me that obama has a inbreed hatred for our military NO,he has expressed his dis-like in many ways,as his wife has done the same.We the American people must and i repeat again must have this traitor of America Impeached,and Impeached not to soon,there are evil powers behind this man that we must confront as soon as possible and get rid of the whole bunch.Our way of living has now come to an end as we know it,unfortunately there are millions of people who believe what obama is dishing out as gospel-it is not,it comes from the evil that has attached it self to him and must be dealt with,as we get closer to election day we are going to have to demonstrate in the streets to let the government know that we are Americans first and we will fight to defend our Constitution.
We shouldn’t have to impeach him. Every single graphics expert that has examined his latest Cert of live birth has said the exact same thing. This is a forgery filled with changes and mistakes. He does not qualify to be President and should be jailed for his many felonies. Congress is silent. Are they affraid of him and his Marxist buddies or are they in on it? It will still require impeachment as the American voters saw fit to allow this lower form of life Sworn in. Therefore impeachment or vote him out and then take legl actions against him and all of his kind and watch them scurry like the cowards that they are to leave America!
You can’t impeach a usurper. There is overwhelming evidence that what’s residing in the White House may not even be human. He must be arrested, tried for the greatest criminal act in American history and sent to the gallows! He was never sworn in, how’s that for a non-starter! So along with the sealed records, the multiple forged BC’s, the fraudulent social security number, the proven fraudulent selective service registration, the perjury to the bar association, his adoption in Indonesia and Indonesian citizenship, his Indonesian passport, his British citizenship via the British nationality act of 1948 as the son a a British citizen (dual loyalties at best but actually triple loyalties), his receipt of foreign aid while at Occidental, his supposed attendance to both Columbia (Patrice Lamumba College in Russia) and Harvard while sleeping in the alley in New York according to the book Ayres wrote for him. Combat vet, You are absolutely correct, we need the military to do it’s job, step in and arrest the Usurper, stabilize the country and insure “Free Elections” and not another farce, like we endured in the 08 election cycle. Beside that impeachment would lend an air of credibility to the Usurpers occupation of the oval office, there is but one verdict, guilty of treason and crimes against the nation, and our constitution has but one remedy for traitors……. I have been advocating impeachment for at least 1 year even to my Congressmen and Senators but to no avail and the only response I got was from one of his Lackey Dog Democrats who attempted to give me a lesson on the Checks and Balances of our Governmental System which I have learned many years before he was a gleam in his Daddy’s eye being his Senior! The people in Washington are afraid of the Racist Card trumping and they are all due to be voted against bye me and my family, That is if we get the opportunity to vote in November. For he is behind all sort of Schemes to try to create Anarchy in an attempt to initiate Martial Law and if he is successful we are Dead in the Water this side of I am sure you can imagine what comes next. The Internment cams are being built, Military and Home Land Security forces being trained to operate and run these Camps which have been spotted in some of our National Forrest areas and the Military Bases on Top Secret contingency are building them on Base sites and they are equiipped with the abilities and the means to Execute those that oppose them!
I too am a disabled Vet. It took me 8&1/2 years after the last time I applied for VA benefits. That was after trying 3 previous times & giving up. The last time I decided not to give up & went clear to the Court of Appeals in Washington DC. I have a neighbor across the street from me, who also was exposed to Agent Orange in Viet Nam, & has been fighting for benefits now for 4& 1/2 years, with no luck so far. When I was being turned down time after time, I went to see if my Senator could help. That Senator was none other then HARRY REID of Nevada. The Son of a Bitch wouldn’t even talk to me. I guess what I am driving at, is the Illegal in the Presidents Office, the corrupt members of Congress, & many courts, & even some of the people who head up areas of the VA, need to be replaced. They all have their good paying jobs, with all the perks, & don’t give a damn about anyone else, except for their own ilk.

But all they can do is prove to you that they used you boys for a Political War that they themselves had no intention of winning. Thank you, Mr. Schwerer, for your service to our country, both in the armed services and as a shining example of someone who actually studies the candidates and their records BEFORE they vote. Would that ALL Americans took the priviledge of voting so seriously. Now, ask everyone you know to “study up,” start calling their Congressman, and repeatedly ask just why Articles of Impeachment were not already in their 3rd draft. Document what you are told and publicize it.
Maybe, the problem is that which is described by “snidley,” and BHO is acting “under color of law.” Clearly, he is NOT a natural-born citizen of these United States, as that designation has been clearly defined by the courts.

I agree that Obama must be impeached. He has danced upon our Constitution for his own convenience, and that of his friends. There are millions of Americans who want to see him impeached for various reasons, each and every one of them is valid.
But, unfortunately it takes the US Congress (House) to impeach him, and they will not do it. It doesn’t matter which party controls the House, they still will not do it. The Democrats won’t impeach Obama because he is one of their own. The Republicans won’t impeach Obama because they are afraid of all the name calling they will be subjected to. In other words, both parties in the House are cowards. The Senate, who will have to conduct a trial will act just like their House breathern, the Ds will note vote to convict him, and the Rs are afraid of the PR.
No matter the party, we the American people have no leadership in the Congress, and we also have no confidence in them, either. The current White House administion is to busy handing out money we don’t have, and favors we cannot keep to their cronies and friends from Chicago. This, my friends is Chicago style politics on a national, and at times international scale. We saw that when Obama flew Air Force 1 to Copenhagen to lobby the International Olympic Committee for the Chicago Olympic games, they turned him down. But that same year, he won the Nobel Peace Prize, for…..well I still don’t know what he won it for. At least Jimmy Carter, when he got his trying to bring peace to Israel and the Palistinians, which of course failed. But that’s another story and another failed President.
Obama brought down our credit rating. Today the EU is screaming about how France, Austria, Italy, Spain, and Greece all have had their credit rating downgraded. Well all of them combined, even if you include the rest of the EU do not have an economy the size the US does. Which Obama has been secretly bailing out for the past 3 years. Impeachment proceedings can only be brought against an acting President. Obama is NOT legally the President of the United States BECAUSE e never met the Constitutional requirements to be the President. Charges of treason should be charged for usurping the Office of the Presidency.

The last line is a bit confusing, but I think the answer is “yes they would” the Senate is so confused with all the infighting that those of them who really ARE interested in the welfare of our country, don’t know who they can trust, nor how they should proceed. The Senate is probably just trying to bide time and hope that the elections will straighten things out. Ok, I’m sorry, but a lot of people need to learn a very simple concept concerning civics, US politics, and our Constitution. Because you disagree with the president’s ideology or policies, does not mean there is grounds to impeach him. The Constitution is pretty specific about what are impeachable offenses, and “I don’t agree with him” is not one of them. It is also specific as to who can impeach a president, and a random citizen is not one of them, even if he is a Navy vet.
I’m sorry folks, but losing an election has consequences. It means that the administration is probably going to do things you don’t like and enact policies that you disagree with. That’s why you didn’t vote for that person. But, that’s why we have term limits and democratic elections. If you don’t like the policies of a sitting politician, then you vote them out. This idea that we are going to call for impeachment every time someone we don’t agree with is elected, is pretty ridiculous, and sets a bad precedent. Our system works pretty good, but in order for it to do so, it means that sometimes things are going to happen that we don’t like. If you don’t like the way things are going, then volunteer for another candidate. Campaign for someone else. Go to the polls and vote. But, trying to make a case for impeachment of someone because you disagree with them just makes you look overly dramatic and silly.
No one is calling for an Obama impeachment because they disagree with him politically. We know what the US Constitution says, and it is not specific, as you say it is. Presidents, and anyone else subject to impeachment proceedings are impeached for “High crimes and Misdomenors”. When the Constitution was written, a misdomenor was what we call a felony today. Treason is also listed in the Constitution. What many here are accusing Obama of include the recent “recess” appointments. It takes both Houses of Congress to adjorn in a recess, the House never did. The Senate was also in secession, even though it was doing no work. The President made his appointments without the “advise and consent of the Senate”. This is a clear violation of the US Constitution, which makes it a “high crime or misdomenor”. Of course we also have “fast and furious” in which a US BPA was killed, so the President and AG may be guilty of murder.
So no one is making a case for impeachment just because Obama and company they are on the wrong side of the political street. We are making the case for criminal activity. But it doesn’t really matter. In the case of F&F, there would be no staute of limitations, and both Holder and Obama can be held accountable in a court of law after they are out of office.
I disagree. Calling for impeachment makes conservatives look desperate and overly dramatic. The world is not ending. Conservatives don’t think Obama is any more evil than Liberals thought Bush was evil. But Liberals couldn’t impeach Bush just because they didn’t agree with his policies or ideology either. Obama was not born in Kenya. He is not purposely and maliciously trying to do harm to America. Even if his policies are bad for the country, again, that is not an impeachable offense.
So it appears you attended Barry’s birth since you know where he wasn’t born….or was he? Treason is grounds for impeachment. Sedition is grounds for impeachment. Repeatedly violating the oath of office (which wasn’t properly administered), is treason. A purposely flubbed swearing in ceremony and bible-less re-swearing in simply means a usurper on several levels is pretending to be President! Question is how do impeach an impostor? A criminal felon whose history is a mystery with no cultural connection to America whatsoever! No need to impeach, you arrest him and all of his accomplices for crimes against the people and the Constitution!
