As the lone black member currently serving in the U.S. Senate, South Carolina Republican Tim Scott began taking heat from the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People even before he was sworn in Thursday.
Giving him a failing grade, NAACP President Ben Jealous claimed Scott “is not one of” the “Republicans who believe in civil rights.”
The race-bating spokesperson explained the scoring system as “always about what’s in people’s hearts,” suggesting the GOP has historically “gone after so-called RINOs” based simply on their civil rights positions.
To those who view everything in terms of race, it’s a natural reaction to assume that any criticism of the left is due to inherent racism – even when the critic is black.
Instead of a levelheaded discussion, individuals like Jealous seek only to sully their target’s reputation through character assassination and unfounded attacks.
During an interview after the incident, Scott called the accusations against him “baseless,” explaining “some folks really want to find a way to make race more of a part of their conversation going forward.”
As one Fox News host explained, the NAACP included Scott’s position on issues completely unrelated to race – including greenhouse gas regulation – in its tirade against him.
To Scott, the entire ordeal is “almost laughable,” though he noted “some people take it pretty seriously.” Instead of sideshow sensationalism like that coming from Jealous, Scott said he chooses to “focus on the serious opportunities to move moving people forward.”
In the end, he said that the fundamental difference between his worldview and the NAACP has nothing at all to do with civil rights.
“[F]olks like Mr. Jealous believe that a larger government somehow means more freedom,” he said. “I just completely disagree.”
I firmly second that statement, which apparently means I’d receive an “F” rating from the NAACP, too. I’m OK with that.

The NAACP’s main objective is ‘stick it to Whitie’ theme. When things are not going their way, Whites are called RACISTS….. knowing full well, it will get under their skin. Blacks can be BIGGER racists than anyone and get by with it. They can use the ‘N’ word…. something they feel they created, and no one else is able to use it but them. They OWN it….. Jealousy breeds hatred… and they are full of it or they wouldnt be so determined to tear down the White people of this country. But it matters not what they call me, I know what and who I am – they do not. Look how they ‘stuck it’ to the Whites during the O J Simpson trial. They sure had the last laugh on that one. Now they’re having an even BIGGER laugh since ‘Joker of the Day’ Obama was made King of the Universe a second time. Obama reminds me of Jim Jones who took all those ‘followers’ of his to Jonestown, Guyanna, then told them they had to drink the kool-aid, knowing they were going to die…. which they dutifully did. Obama thinks along those same lines, VOTE ME IN A SECOND TERM or else you will get some WHITIE in here who won’t give you food stamps, who’ll not give you healthcare, who’ll not look after your best interest —- only Me… These people can’t think for themselves, he does their thinking for them.
I believe Ben Jealous, Pres. of the NAACP, is just jealous of Senator Tim Scott. Tim Scott is a black conservative who believes in the God-given liberties/freedoms for all Americans protected under our U.S. Constitution. Senator Scott has worked his way up to being a U.S. Senator. He didn’t get there by lies, perversion, voter fraud or calling others “racists.” He’s honest and stands up for what is right. He believes in civil rights for eveybody — blacks, whites, brown, red, yellow, etc. The NAACP believes in civil rights ONLY for black liberals, whie liberals, brown liberals, etc. Actually, they are the REAL racists and so is Obama and Holder(man). And they are JEALOUS of any other black man who’s honest and stands up for ALL Americans civil rights.
The NAACP is the most racist org. in the US today…..with Sharpton and Rev. Wright coming in as second.
The only black person serving in the Senate currently, and the NAACP is back stabbing him. Talk about hypocrites!! The NAACP is just another servant of the Democratic party, which says alot about both the Dems and the NAACP, that they would follow the party of slavery, Jim Crow laws and anti-civil rights. Seems like the NAACP President, Jealous, is just that – jealous of an intelligent, articulate, conservative black man who doesn’t need to bash others for having different beliefs, or political views, or to make themselves feel better.
I’m glad to see that Senator Scott intends to integrate himself into the senate as colorblind and deaf to comments of racism and devisiveness.
I lost respect for the NAACP long time ago. If you need their help, you must pay and join their organization. If you don’t they are very slow in helping you, if at all.
