Children at one Massachusetts elementary school are no longer able to celebrate Valentine’s Day – or any other holiday, for that matter – because of concerns for cultural sensitivity.
Parents recently received a letter from school administrators explaining there are “many different nationalities, cultures, and languages spoken” at the school; therefore, “we don’t honor specific holidays.”
Somehow, the exchange of friendly cards and chalky hearts is deemed offensive to the politically correct, multicultural, perpetually outraged leftists in the public school system.
The school’s principal said instead of purchasing cards designed specifically for Valentine’s Day and available at virtually any retailer across the nation, these kids must bring a “friendship card” to a revamped celebration.
“I wanted to make sure that every single student is given the opportunity to get a card and also give a card,” she said. “I didn’t want some students feeling left out.”
One retired teacher spoke for those nostalgic of a more traditional time in America.
“I am so glad I am retired,” she said. “I don’t think I could stand all the bans in the schools today.”
The principal noted a large population of the school’s students don’t speak English, and she was afraid they “wouldn’t understand the concept of having to bring a card or get a card.”
The act of giving and receiving cards still remains, though, so I’m not sure how she is dealing with this perceived problem by merely removing any references to Valentine’s Day.
Despite logic that strikes me as questionable at best, the school district’s superintendent is on board with the holiday ban, explaining there are “certain traditions we have to modify and adapt.”
This nation has undergone so much modification in the name of inclusivity that those expressing traditionally American views and beliefs are the only ones now excluded.

This tells me that our schools no longer teach english, nor Amrican taditions. They come to this country to become Americans. Unless they learn what it is to be an American, they will never be one. Our schools have run amuck and if parents and the people don’t wake up, we will no longer have America.
OH BOO-HOO might offend soneone. Well this school offends me. Every parent should remove their kid from that school and either send them to another one or home school them. If there is an empty school with no kids to indoctrinate things might change. it`s time parents did what is right for their kids for a change.
So, we throw out our traditions so those who come to this country won’t have their feeling hurt?…Not much of a trade off is it…….after all, it is our country and not theirs until they become citizens……the schools are now teaching socialist ideaolgy starting in the first grade, thanks to our country following the laws of the UN…..a/k/a the NEW WORLD ORDER.
This is a bunch of crap ! It’s because our teachers do not know how to handle the situation. OMGosh ! Being left out ! Come on that is how we learn to accept these disappointments in life…. EARLY ON !!! Get use to it !!!
I come from a family of 13, I learned very early ! I was the 11 th one. I was always too small to go to the movies on Friday night….and because I was the older of the younger two I didn’t get the ice cream !!! So there !
If they can’t cope with our way of life….GET THE HELL BACK WHERE YOU CAME FROM !! ASAP !! LEAVE US THE HELL ALONE !!!
Nobody used to be left out. I haven’t looked for a while but it used to be way back when I was in elementary school in the 60s, they sold packages of 30 cards so students could give on to everybody.

Perhaps we could cut out Martin Luther Kings day too… no one celebrates it but the blacks… whereas on Valentine… EVERYBODY celebrates it.. and we dont even get a HOLIDAY
Gee I wonder what they will come up with on Independence day. I’m sure that Holiday has offended many foreigners. They going to cancel all the holidays there by making the kids go to school on the Holidays that fall on a weekday or will they still have off and be able to observe them with family?
When are the American people going to start stepping up in mass protests about these special interest and minority groups demanding that the majority accommodate their needs. Since when in a Republic, does the minority rule?
Furthermore, since when and where is it written that when foreigners come to this Nation, the Americans citizens and culture must adapt to the visitors and tourist or the new immigrants by which largely hold dual citizenship there by their allegiance is not exclusive to this nation only. In any and every other Country on this planet, new foreigners coming to that Country would be expected to adapt to that Countries culture and laws and policies. Not us adapting to every other countries policies and cultures and believes. For example: the Muslim attempting to try to force this Nation to abandon our laws and adopt and enforce sharia law.
