The Bible character most like Obama would be Rehoboam. He was the spoiled brat son of King Solomon who was used to being coddled and getting his own way. When he became king upon Solomon’s death, he decided he would put very onerous taxes and demands on the citizens of Israel. When they aired their grievances and complained to him he consulted with his advisers. The wiser and older advisers told him to compromise with the people and lighten up on them. His younger snotty nosed friend advisers ( think Rahm Emanuel and David Axelrod) told him that he was king and should come down harder on them and he listened to them and ruled against the will of the people. He was as divisive in his day as Obama is today. The people rebelled against him, a civil war ensued and the country was split in two. Our country has been split in two, whether this ends up in an actual civil war or not only time will tell.
