I made my slow turn to the right during the Clintons' reign and started to listen to people like Mark Levin, Laura Ingraham, Barbara Olsen, Hitchens, John Gibson, Lucianne Goldberg, (I'm still an L.com-er) and radio talk shows in '05. (9/11 was also a HUGE turning point for me.) I reclaimed my patriotism when a (legal) Russian immigrant called in to KFMB San Diego in '05 and told us that we, as Americans, need to kiss the ground every day because we take our freedoms for granted. (Last year I read all of Russian, Ayn Rand's novels and that helped to cement my position on the right side of life.) After hearing what that caller had to say, I fell to my knees and sobbed; I had hated this country for so many years as a far-left lunatic. This was when Dubya was pushing amnesty and I was terrified that I would lose America and pass on nothing but misery to our children. I had lost my mother in '78, I was not about to lose my country to tyrants who wanted to sell America to the lowest bidder.
