Barbara Johnson and her family are calling for Rev. Marcel Guarnizo of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Gaithersburg, Maryland, to be removed from his ministry. The family is making bold proclamations after Guarnizo reportedly denied Johnson, 51, communion at her mother’s funeral on Saturday.
Johnson, a lesbian, was joined at the church by her partner to celebrate her mother’s life. Just before the service, Guarnizo apparently learned about her sexuality and relationship. Then, during the service, when Johnson stood up to receive communion, the priest openly denied her.
“He put his hand over the body of Christ and looked at me and said, ‘I can’t give you Communion because you live with a woman, and in the eyes of the church, that is a sin,’” she explained following the incident.
When he refused her, Johnson said she was shocked and stood in front of him, thinking that he’d change his mind.
“I just stood there, in shock. I was grieving, crying,” she explained. “My mother’s body was behind me, and all I wanted to do was provide for her, and the final thing was to make a beautiful funeral, and here I was letting her down because there was a scene.”

If you don’t like the tenets of the church, you have FREEDOM (for now anyway) to go to another church. If it’s your mother’s church. TOO BAD!!! Don’t go there any more!
These people living perverted lifestyles like lesbians and gays want to change God into their image. Homosexuality is an abomination to God and they know it. You can’t receive Holy Communion in a state of mortal sin. If you don’t like the Catholic Church or it’s preachings leave it. You can’t change the teachings of the Catholic Church according to your way. That’s like trying to change the teachings of Jesus Christ. His teachings never change. God/Jesus is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. No one is supposed to receive Holy Communion unless they are in the State of Grace. The Priest obviously knew this person was not in the State of Grace by her lifestyle. His first duty is to protect against anyone trying to receive if there be an impediment to their receiving. She can always change to a church that does not have this command. Do not try to make the Priest do something against his faith.
This is nothing but an out right lie. All this is, is Anti-Americans taking down Americans one by one with one lie after another cause they know any other way would result in a lost for them. It’s time we Americans start helping our fellow Americans. Don’t you think ? By standing up for each other, watching each others back, and just being there for our fellow American.
We need to find out HOW the priest discovered her being a lesbian “shortly before the service”. I suspect this was a set-up to bring more criticism on the Catholic Church. Obama has attacked them and tried to force them to violate their beliefs, and this incident can just be used by Obama and others to further try to marginalize, discredit, and disenfranchise the church. It seems that the Catholic Church is one of the few denominations that continue to stand up for their beliefs. Many other mainline denominations have violated their beliefs and even ordained lesbians as ministers. It is sad that now the government and the anti-religion people have used homosexuality and birth control to attack the church, but there will be more attacks since they know Obama supports the turmoil and may well be behind this latest event.
I applaud all such criticism.

Homosexuality is a sin and the Catholic church is against it. The Priest did the right thing by denying her communion. She does not have to like it, she must realize her life-style choice is wrong and change if she ever expects to receive communion again. Don’t people understand the moral depravity of this type of perversion? Anyone who has read and understands the teachings of the bible would know this is precisely why G-d destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. Also, why do you think the AIDS/HIV virus continues to mutate and defy every medical attempt at a cure? It’s because this nasty little bug was sent to destroy all who engage in homosexual depravity.
The only thing more disgusting than homosexuality and the perversion that is their “love” are the churches that allow it to pollute their congregation. Oh, and you know what, I could care less how many of them get pissed and throw a hissy fit over what I have written. Just because two adults of the same sex want to bump uglies and get each other off doesn’t mean it is okay. It is not. It is sexual perversion and, at one time, there were laws against such acts. Homosexuals are sexual deviants. The sooner one realizes the folly of their way, the sooner they can seek a riteous path back to G-d. If they deny their way, they deserve the same fate as the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah.
I agree with Rev. Marcel Guarnizo. It is wrong for these people to openly mock Christianity by trying to force their deviant life style off on the world. These people have no reverance for God, his Church or his people. Enough is enough and more people need to take a stand against this sick life style.

to OMG~ The rest of the story is this ~ Ms. Johnson, before mass, introduced her partner to F. Guarnizo as her lover. She obviously wanted to embarrass Fr. G, but he did exactly what he should have done. She admitted that she is not living within the teachings of the faith & Fr. G could not give her communion.
The priest was 100 % right! She is a Sexual Deviant living in Sin and disobeying the teachings of God and had no business even trying to receive what she had no right to! Get right with God or suffer! With the new Pope we may see more of these good things happening. If you want to be a sick Deviant find another church that does not live by and or the teachings of God! Can’t wait to see all the bad Catholics in our Church are kicked out of the church!
