Peter Parker’s uncle Ben said it best: “With great power comes great responsibility.” The Spiderman character had a great deal of power. While that was important, the way he used it was more important. If you’ve ever seen the film Unbreakable, starring Bruce Willis and Samuel L Jackson, you know what I mean.
Right now John Boehner is the Speaker of the House of Representatives because (1) the Republicans are in the majority and (2) his fellow-Republicans elected him. In this position he has a certain amount of power.
What if Spider Man or any of the fictional superheroes decided that they were going to give up some of their powers to their arch enemies? What would we think of that choice? We would say that it was counterproductive and dangerous.
It seems that John Boehner and some of his colleagues don’t know much about superheroes and villains. At this moment in time, the Democrats are villains. They want to steal money and burden us with more debt. How is it possible that the opposing party would agree to these villains to steal even more money and make us slaves to the State?
In addition to giving in to Obama and the Democrats, Boehner is purging conservatives from leadership positions. That would be like breaking up the Avengers and adding recruiting Loki.

Many have said for years now that expecting elected people in DC to restore our Constitutional Freedoms and Liberties is like digging a hole in your yard expecting to find a diamond and gold mine. Just not going to happen.
So, that leaves three remedies – Nullification using the 10th amendment [which the Supreme Court has used the 14th amendment to limit the power of the States] second is the use of Article V to repeal the 14th, 16th and 17th amendment – lastly is the Jefferson final option –
I hold it, that a little rebellion, now and then, is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical. – Letter to James Madison (30 January 1787)
The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions, that I wish it to be always kept alive. It will often be exercised when wrong, but better so than not to be exercised at all. I like a little rebellion now and then. It is like a storm in the atmosphere. – Letter to Abigail Smith Adams (22 February
I believe there are too many people who have been bought, bribed, blackmailed, threatened or their loved ones threatened. I think they somehow got to Boehner.
Boehner needs to go. The more the RINO’s like him support the opposition, the stronger the TEA Party should get. If TEA Party activists would go after this liberal Republican actively and loudly, maybe the rest of the RINO’s would get the message. The Republicans can’t even put up and support a Conservative candidate for President because of people like Boehner. Mitt Romney might have been an improvement over Obama, but the candidate needed to come out in support of the Constitution and against the erosion of the rule of law. Romney was just another RINO like McCain that paid their dues to the party elite.
You are right, Candyman. It seems the Repubs are part of the problem instead of part of the solution. They’ve proven just how traitorous they are to the American people. I think Repubs like Bohner and Romney are somewhat complicit with the destruction of this country. Bohner and others like him need to go. It’s gonna take We, the People, to restore this country to it’s God-given rights/freedoms. Otherwise, we’are going down and we’re going down hard. Our children and grand children will suffer the most because of our inaction, apathy and complacency.
The Republicans should just do away with the title Repub. and just call themselves Rhinos because it’s so much more fitting.
I am so, so disappointed with Mr. Boehner. I thought he would do a good job but when the going got rough he just caved. I agree with christian, the Republicans have let this country down in a big way. I no longer consider myself one but I’m sure not stupid enough to be democrat! I’ll vote but no longer will I vote Republican. Mr. Boehner, you should be ashamed.
