Prejudice is the act of prejudging someone or something without facts. We all do it sometimes; that’s why we are always told that first impressions are important.
If you go to a job interview for an accounting position dressed in raggedy cut-0ffs and a dirty shirt, you will be prejudged.
If you enter a country club in a $2000 suit, you will be prejudged.
Saying all blacks are criminals is racist.
There have been jokes about every race, religion, background, hair color, height, weight, nationality, and so on for as far back as anyone can remember (and I am sure beyond.) For years, my daughter found some of the best “blonde” jokes (we both are blonde); now, it is politically incorrect. I miss the blonde jokes!
It isn’t racist to say that Barack Obama is black; he is. At least half. It isn’t racist to say that his ideals and goals for America go against mine; they do. It would be racist to say that he has these ideals and goals along with all other blacks just because he is black. Not all blacks agree with him, and not all others disagree.
It isn’t racist to mention that black mobs and gangs are roaming downtown Chicago beating, killing, and destroying; they are. If the roaming gangs were black, white, Asian, and Hispanic, and we were blaming it all on blacks just because they were black, that would be racist.
Why is it that only white people can be accused of being racist? Years ago I worked with a black woman who believed that only she should be allowed to take care of black customers because she was black. When the boss decided that he would take us all to lunch, she made a big fuss, saying she “would NOT ride in the back”; she was serious and very adamant until the boss showed up in a limo! She was racist.
When I was growing up many years ago, races were actually more divided (and at the same time more united). We lived together in harmony, each doing their job without the anger or hatred we see today. We had “negroes”, or “colored people” (don’t get your panties in a twist; this was before they decided to be called black), Polish, Jews, Germans, Irish, Swedes, Italians, Scots, and on and on. We had American Indians, India Indians, Persians, Egyptians, etc., etc., etc. Everyone was a minority.
When the movie “Roots” came out, not so much the book, America started to change. As with “Uncle Tom’s Cabin”, the ideas and themes of the book started a movement. The book by Stowe created the setting for the end of slavery in the US. The Haley book created the setting for retribution over 100 years later.
How far back must we trace our heritage in order to justify being owed something? If I trace back far enough, I’m sure I could find some group of people who treated my ancestors badly. Around the time of the Civil War, my husband’s people were being forced to give up their lands, their homes, and in many instances their lives. Much of this land was deeded to the freed slaves in the late 1860′s. So in actuality, the slaves took from his ancestors. Was that any better?
Our leaders have made mistakes over the years as have the leaders of all nations from the beginning of Man. Let’s face it, Eve royally screwed up. But retribution and revenge are not always the answer. I’m not saying that we should give in, in fact the opposite, fight for what you believe in. Just be sure you are fighting for your beliefs and that you don’t let greed, jealously, and fear drive you.
If we admit that some blacks are running wild in Chicago and other major cities, the issue can be faced and corrected. If we admit that Islamic Jihad Extremists are out to kill America and Americans, the issue can be faced. It is fact. It was not the French flying planes into the WTC. The British are not setting off bombs in Spain. The Italians are not rioting and killing in America.
Forget about being politically correct; it is an impossible task. Instead, be morally correct, legally correct, and honestly correct. We cannot have a conversation or understanding if we are afraid to talk.
There are many countries where the citizens are not allowed to speak. Saddam Hussein was hanged for killing anyone with the audacity to speak against him. In the United States, we are supposed to be free. Many good men and women died for those rights. And many died to keep us from having them. If you say something I don’t agree with, it doesn’t mean you are wrong; but if we talk, we will see that we don’t have to agree on everything to accomplish something.
The Founding Fathers didn’t agree on everything, but they realized that there was a greater good.

Ernest, you are right. Any time a specific group is awarded special benefits, special privileges, or special protections, others suffer a loss of freedom. It is impossible to grant privileges to one group without taking them away from other groups or the majority.
In respect to all races and religions having a right to peacefully co-exist and the duty to ensure that peace, they all demand the right, but many ignore or fail in the duty.
In particular, if members of a religion demand the freedom to practice, they must afford that freedom to other religions. Islam doesn’t afford that freedom to any religion other than their own. For those who insist it is a religion of peace (history says otherwise) and only a small fraction of its members are radical jihadists, that small percentage still consists of millions of radicals. If Islam can’t or won’t police its own members, then why should the rest of us grant them the freedom they won’t give us and others?
What you will find out PDQ is that statements about blacks that are 100% true are the most ‘racist’. American blacks have an average IQ of 85. That’s a fact, but try bringing it up in a discussion of ‘disparate impact’ civil-rights suits. Blacks are imprisoned for serious crimes at 9-10 times the rate whites are. To say that’s racist, even if factual. The truth doesn’t matter at all. Any fact that makes look bad is racist to state. This is the way whites are made de facto and de jure second-class citizens. Think back and you’ll see that the only difference between the Scottsboro Boys and the Duke la crosse team is the race of the accuser and the accused. And the blogosphere, of course, which short-circuited the MSM railroading of the white kids.
Those who dictate victimhood make victims of those who are not legitimately so; those who adopt victimhood for themselves become victimized by their own choice. For us who choose freedom, no dictate counter to liberty can enslave us.

Whoever wrote this must be just about my age. This is a great article and every word is true. Eric Holder said we are cowards when it comes to the discussion of race. I believe Eric Holder is the coward. He will not acknowledge Islamic terrorism or the rampant crime within the black race. It is always the “white guy” who drove them to crime. What a bunch of bunk!

Well said! My son was talking to a couple who were obviously liberal. He made a comment about Muslims and was told that was racist. He asked how he could be racist about a religion particularly when his comment was based on fact. Because it just is. A few minutes later he said something about Mexicans (individuals that are citizens of the country). He was told he couldn’t say “Mexicans” because it was racist. He inquired if he would be racist if he referred to a German, Brit, Frenchman or Spaniard. He was told no. Then how could it be racist in referring to a citizen of Mexico. Because it just is.
It’s racist to refer to Obama’s policies but it’s not racist for a liberal to refer to Bush’s policies. It’s racist if a white person were to harm a black man but a mob of blacks can kill whites and that’s not racist. In fact, we won’t even make a police report about it.

I guess what they tried to do to Sheriff Joe was racist then. They had to drop the investigation because they could not find any of the things they were saying about him to be true. How about that one. Now who is the racist?
There is a well-developed latino activist community in Arizona. Every since SP-1070 AZ Immigration laws, play the race card; if you criticise illegal aliens (mostly Latinos in ARizona), you are racist! Lest you believe that is a true composite of Arizona residents, I can assure you Sheriff Arpaio still has strong support. How the latino activists, with the help of the mainstream media and most newspapers in ARizona, have been determined to make sure Sheriff Arpaio is removed from office. They succeeded with the author of SB-1070, AZ Sen. Russell Pearce. Every AZ television news program shows 3 – 5 scenes of and interviews with Latino activists vs. a picture of or interview with AZ residents who support Sheriff Joe. And they always long will that last with illegals voting against the Constitution?
In Arizona, as in many other States and in the Federal Government, corruption runs rampant. This is always true when voters continue electing the same individuals to multiple terms of office. The longer individuals are in office, the more power they attain, and the more corrupt they become. Even if it can’t be proven, it is there. Sheriff Arpaio’s job entails investigating corruption in office. If the DOJ had proof, the trial and conviction would have continued. In a second prosecution, DOJ is investigating Arpaio for profiling and abusing Latinos. Arpaio has continually asked for proof and, of course, DOJ won’t provide any. It IS ANOTHER witchhunt. Imagine the US-DOJ, of all current Government Departments, charging other elected officials with corruption, when their own corruption involves treason and the murder of US citizens!
