Having a gun in the house is too dangerous. If you have one, it should be locked up. Honest folks don’t need one.
You might remember that the founding fathers of this country gave us the 2nd Amendment to protect ourselves not from each other, but from an egregious central government. When they take away your gun, they take away your freedom.
One of the first things Adolph Hitler did when he took charge was confiscate all firearms. History has shown that every dictator has first disarmed the people. Every leader that institutes gun control wants to be a dictator.
We have police to protect us. They carry a gun to protect themselves, not you. One guy said, “I carry a gun because a cop is too heavy.”
One of the safest, least violent countries in the world is Switzerland, where there is a gun in every household. When a young man is discharged from his compulsory military service, he takes his gun home and is required to keep it in shooting condition. Hitler did not invade them during the 1940’s. Also, in 1940, one of the Japanese Generals discouraged an invasion of California, saying there would be an American behind every blade of grass with a gun.
They do have strict gun regulations in Switzerland, but a citizen is allowed to buy a handgun or even a machine gun.
Every country today that has a dictator also does not allow the people to own guns.
Regulations are put in place to keep criminals from having guns. Yet the government takes guns from honest folks. The criminals won’t give up their guns.
When someone breaks into your house, steals your car, or threatens your loved ones, the average response time for a 911 call is 23 minutes. That gives you plenty of time to find your gun, unlock it, load it, and point it at the perpetrator. The response time of a .45 caliber hand gun is 1350 feet per second.
Any time any leader of a country says he wants gun control, what he really means is he wants control of the people. When they have no defense, there is no liberty. That is how countries are taken over from within.
99.9% of the U.S. population that own guns of any type are honest, law-abiding citizens. In many situations, a gun may be a life saver. Guns don’t kill people. People kill people with any weapon that may be available.

The 45 ACP generally shoots from a 5″ barrel factory ammunition in the range of around 850 fps to 930 fps. 1000 fps is getting into 45 Super territory. 1350 fps is off the charts for a 1911 45 or any pistol manufactured for 45 ACP. Pressures at that velocity will be way past safe limits for any off the shelf or even custom 45 ACP pistol making it extremely dangerous to the shooter and probably damaging to the gun.
That information relates to a standard 230 grain .45 caliber bullet. With lighter velocities you might get closer to the 1350 figure, but still 1100 fps is around the upper limit for Hodgdon loadings of 155 grain bullets.

Why can’t these liberals understand that gun laws don’t keep outlaws from using guns. Probation did not stop the making or the selling of liquor.
I saw that video and it was truly very scary. The Aussies should have contacted Holder and he could have shown them how to get all those guns into Mexico and make money doing it.
It was a real shame to see all those weapons getting cut up and melted down.

I own seven or eight guns. in my younger days, i hunted. so far never had to use one for protection. By the time you call 911 you could be dead. Haven’t shot any of my guns in about 10 years, but i intend to die with my guns in the closet. They are mine. i earned the money for most of them, inherited a couple from my father who was an avid hunter until his eyesight got bad..
But, i am getting a little nervous, this week, right next door at a washeteria, a black man, dressed in black, black band around face, black shoes walked up to a man sitting in a pickup, put a gund to his head, stole his pickup, when found most of the electronic equipment was stripped out. down the street about 6 blocks, the same description robbed a restruant. so I slipped the loaded clip in my M1 carbine, but left it in the closet. 911 , the police did not help till about three days later and found the mans pickup. so I am proud i have the guns and hope i never use them for protection, maybe after i get my heart problem fixed, if i ever do, i might want to shoot my guns again. My two boys have used them, but i haven’t. Now the difference betwween a telephone and a m1 carbine, just like the one issured to me in Air \Force, is quite a bit.
if an intruder is breaking into your house, call 911, by the time the police get there your whole family could be dead. I always live by the saying, an open chest wound is guaranteed to take the fight right out of the criminial who’s intent was to hurt or kill everyone in his way.
America was founded on having the right to keep and bear arms, why? Because our fore fathers knew the day would come that is upon us right now. It is true that a gun is for use against a tryanical government but it was and still is used for sport and also a form or supplying meat for food. But the 2 main reasons are for the protection of you wife and children and yourself against someone who would threaten yours or their lives and to stop a corrupt government with the ways of changing the way of the American life that we all hold dear because that means freedom from the criminal and the government that would try to take our guns away from the law abiding citizens of the USA. So I will not give up my guns and I will use them to defend my family from those criminals and that government that would try to hurt or harm my family or to change my way of life to their form of government..As Americans, we should always have the 2nd Amendment which is the right to keep and bear arms to protect ourselves from the criminals and the government that would intrude against us in any means. I will keep my guns and Mr. Obama, You can keep your CHANGE…..enough said…

There are alot of things I don’t need. I don’t need to be taxed to pay of some lowlife to lay around having babies, or taxes to pay judges that lets the same people out of prison time and time again. I don’t need the government telling me I have to accept queers and their lifestyle. I don’t need the government telling me what I can and can’t say, calling it hate speech. I DO need my GUNS to turn America back to the once great country it once was, before the commies got in. I will need my guns long after we kick the commies out, so that we are sure they will never be back to start over.

We all need to remember that our right to carry guns did NOT come from government. It is an unalienable right given to us by God and CANNOT be taken away by any government. Self-defense of self, family, and property was simply acknowledged in the Bill of Rights as being unalienable. Our Founders knew this right came from God and simply acknowledged it in writing to insure no government could ever make up an excuse to steal our rights or our guns.

I agree with stricter gun control! I believe that a law needs to be enacted! This law shall read as such!
“Every Native Born American citizen is obligated and has the right to purchase any weapon that is available on the public market! No individual citizen shall be forced to act upon these rights and can turn down these rights at any time! The quantity of weapons stock piling by any individual citizen shall not be inhibited unless it is determine that it is for purposes that are to be carried out against the public’s inhabitants! Every individual citizen is entitled and obligated to receive training that will be provided by the government. This training will be provided during the freshmen year of schooling! At the successful completion of this course, a single handgun with a single case of rounds will be issued and paid for by the government, to each citizen who is then liable for the care and possession of that weapon! Every citizen 18yrs or older are encouraged to apply for a concealed weapons permit and to maintain possession of a hand gun at all times! Training for the concealed weapon permit will be provided in the senior year of schooling as the permit can be attained on the day of their 18th birthday! All training shall cover safety, proper use and care for their weapon, legal condition and times when a weapon may and may not be used, and all legal consequences for the misuse of this right! Any citizen that is undergoing mental health treatment for illnesses associated with mental instability or is to receive medication that may cause mental instability will forfeit their weapons until such time that the patient is deemed as no threat and determined to be completely and fully mentally stable and safe to regain possession of their weapons! No charges shall incurred by these patients for the storage, care, security and handling of their weapons while receiving treatment! Any individual citizen who has been convicted of any violent crime, including but not limited to domestic violence, will forfeit their legal rights to bear arms! No Naturalized Citizen will be eligible for possession of any form of weaponry! No weapon shall be seized by any government representative unless misuse or abuse has been verified as set forth in the training stipulations! Any government representative, who fails to abide by this law, shall forfeit their right to bear arms and will forfeit their position as a government representative! This law shall be enacted and set in place to ensure every American their right as stated in the 2nd Amendment of the US Constitution! This law shall be enacted and set in place to ensure every citizen the right of self-defense! This law shall be enacted and set in place to defend and protect our fellow humans and property! This law shall be enacted and set in place to equalize the forces of the American citizenry and the public service group known as “The Government” forces in order to allow for the defense of the public in the case where the government turns against the public in part or in whole of this country! This law shall be enacted and set in place to provide for security in the home, businesses and public locations within the borders of the United States! No government representative, agency, group, board or body has the right to infringe upon this law in any way including executive order! This law shall be enacted and set in place to ensure all Americans the ability to defend this country from invasion or attack by internal or external enemy forces that would act against the sovereignty and freedoms of these United States of America!” Get a legislator to write this up in a bill and get it passed now! Give every citizen a gun and see how many arrogant, stupid, or wacked out individuals will have the gall to attack people anywhere for any reason! The only reason they will act against under these conditions is if they wish to die! In that case, American’s will be happy to oblige!
This is real gun control! Guns in the hands of every American with the ability to control their own action and provide discouragement of the lawless! Any other method allows the lawless to be the only holders of illegal weapons that they will use against the law abiding!
I recently had a heart attack. We don’t live in the city limits. It took the ambulance a little over 30 minutes to get here and another 20 minutes for the medivac. The Sheriff’s department arrived AFTER the ambulance. If it had been an intruder and I was unarmed, how much harm could have befallen myself and my family before the “law” arrived to “rescue” me. That, of course, ASSumes I was even able to call for help. Face it folks, the cops only show up AFTER the crime and only AFTER they get the call. You gonna trust your life to that? Seriously?
