Hispanic amnesty activists are expanding their goals beyond the so-called “DREAM Act” youth amnesty, towards a national amnesty for roughly 11 million Hispanic illegals.
President Barack Obama and Congress “need to come together to deliver change on immigration policy, and by that we mean … a roadmap to citizenship for our parents and communities,” said Cristina Jimenez, director of an advocacy group, United We Dream.
Jimenez was born in Ecuador and arrived in this country as an illegal immigrant.
“Deporting members of our community is irresponsible and unacceptable,” added Lorella Praeli, the group’s policy director.
Their demand is an opening salvo in a post-election campaign to persuade the House GOP to provide “a path to citizenship” for roughly 11 million illegal immigrants, most of whom are low-skill laborers who compete for jobs against low-skill Americans.

The Dream Act will not happen for the hispanics. Obama wasn’t deporting any of them. Janet Napolitano was having her people pad their records. Obama has their vote and it will now be business as usual.
It’s NEVER been about immigration. It’s ALWAYS been about enforcing immigration law. People who want to enter this country need to follow the legal procedures. Some do, but many (too many!) don’t. The Socialist-Democrats like open borders and pander to hispanics in exchange for votes. The Republicans don’t call them on that because the Soc-Dems will call them “racist”. It’s really that simple.
You would think that if they truley wanted to become a citizen that they would be willing to follow the law here. It isn’t like they are being persecuted in their own country and had to flee! They are only coming here in hope of receiving “free stuff”!

My stand is to avoid giving the fine folks south of the border the illusion that all you need to do is just sneak over the border and all will be forgiven eventually. I endeavor to encourage the peoples of Latin America to some day take the great risk and gain control of their respective nation’s governments so as to cure the ills that make immigrants want to break U.S. law and come here illegally. When you abandon your homeland because of political corruption and mass violence, I understand that action to be cowardly, and those people are subject to do the very same thing in their next country of choice. If you want to convolute this opinion, that’s your option. As for this U.S. citizen, I have respect for the laws of this land and if the first thing that an illegal immigrant does when they set foot into my country is break federal laws, those are the people that would most likely rationalize breaking other laws meant to protect the citizenry, and I would rather not have them as neighbors, legal or illegal.
