Henson Ong’s Passonate Gun Control Testmony

Henson Ong testifies before the Connecticut Gun Violence Prevention Hearing in Hartford CT on Jan 28, 2013. It appears that this “American by Choice” knows more about this country’s gun history and second amendment rights than a majority of our political leaders and citizens do.

In closing, Ong quoted a famous statement by Judge Alex Kozinski in his dissent on the case of Silveira v. Lockye in 2002:

“My excellent colleagues have forgotten these bitter lessons of history. The prospect of tyranny may not grab the headlines the way vivid stories of gun crime usually do. But few saw the Third Reich coming until it was too late. The Second Amendment is a doomsday provision, one designed only for those exceptionally rare circumstances when all other rights have failed. A free people can only afford to make this mistake once.”

As this debate moves forward, understand that the government should not determine for you, what weapons you should own. A free person should determine that on his or her own.

  1. It takes someone who knows what “Freedom” is all about….to tell us what we are giving up for something “free” ! If some thing sounds too good to be true…..it is, .walk away !

  2. Good points he made. I love the fact he stated about DHS and how they deem the AR 15 a “GOOD PERSONAL DEFENSE WEAPON”, of course only when in the hands of the Government. When in the hands of American citizens, that same weapon becomes known as a “ASSAULT WEAPON”. Those clowns couldn’t get this guy to shut up and leave the mic fast enough. Bravo Ong! good strong validate points made and judging by the response of the crowd, it was well received.
