The Israeli military on Thursday said 13 Hamas terrorists, equipped with rocket-propelled grenades and other weapons, were stopped after getting into Israel through a smuggling tunnel. They were less than two miles from an Israeli community.
This video released from the Israel Defense Forces shows the militants emerging from a tunnel, then quickly trying to get back into the tunnel once they realized they had been discovered.
Just before they can clamor back into the tunnel, a bomb was dropped on them by a Israeli air force jet, the IDF said.
The IDF then released images of the weapons the terrorists had as they tried to escape into the tunnel.

“We could have woken up to a horrible morning with many dead and wounded. Thanks to the alertness and preparedness [it] ended this way,” said IDF spokesman Brig. Gen. Motti Almoz.
This video shows the tunnel and the weapons the militants had and were intending to use before they were eliminated.
The IDF managed to stop the infiltration attempt before it began due to “different sensors” and it was “obviously a huge success,” said Lt. Col. Peter Lerner.
Lerner said the spot the militants emerged from was close to a farming community called Kibbutz Sufa.
Residents were told to stay in their homes while a search was being conducted to see if any terrorists escaped the air strike.
According to Times Of Israel, the tunnel is part of a network of underground channels dug, as offensive lanes into Israel.
The IDF said that since it began their counteroffensive to thwart Hamas rocket attacks, Gaza-based terrorists have fired more than 1,381 rockets at Israel.
