LOGANVILLE, Ga. — A woman hiding in her attic with children shot an intruder multiple times before fleeing to safety Friday.
The incident happened at a home on Henderson Ridge Lane in Loganville around 1 p.m. The woman was working in an upstairs office when she spotted a strange man outside a window, according to Walton County Sheriff Joe Chapman. He said she took her 9-year-old twins to a crawlspace before the man broke in using a crowbar.
But the man eventually found the family.
“The perpetrator opens that door. Of course, at that time he’s staring at her, her two children and a .38 revolver,” Chapman told Channel 2’s Kerry Kavanaugh.
The woman then shot him five times, but he survived, Chapman said. He said the woman ran out of bullets but threatened to shoot the intruder if he moved.

How come this is not all over Fox News and the other media channels. Might I suggest that the women purchase a 40 or 45 caliber handgun, that way her potential home invasion subject would not be charged with a crime and spend the next how many ever years in a prison at tax payers expense.
All that would be required, would be a burial, if she used a higher caliber weapon. Good job, and congratulations for a job almost well done. It did save her and her children’s lives, without a gun in her possession they might all three have been murdered, so you see, once again, guns do save lives.
The Libtards are probabaly sad that she was not arrested and charged with discharging a firearm within city limits and say the intruder was only looking at them blah, blah, blah.
Please post more articles like this on your site, I will share every one of them to Facebook to help counter the Liberal medias hype that guns serve no purpose other than death. We need to see more stories like this one in order to combat the assault on our second amendment rights and educate that self defense is a real need in our growing violent society.
The NRA has the Armed Citizen in its American Rifleman publication, but only NRA members are able to read these articles. We need something on the Web for all to easily access.
ARMED AND DANGEROUS THE CODE OF SILENCE
The police by LAW have no legal obligation, not liable to protect you (citation below). If the Second Amendment is invalidated this will leave everyone with only the police to protect them or will you just think they are?
The police have never been in the protection business. They are in the “responding to the scene of the crime” business.
Criminals will be embolden with a no citizen protection law and no guns.
The over worked under paid, already had enough of society police are NOT going to be of any help to you in a crime being perpetrated on you or when SHTF. The police are just people and can’t be everywhere all the time.
This is a video from the Sons of Liberty. It is a distributing video and shows how unrestrained the police are becoming.

H. R. 648 This Act may be cited as the `Citizens’ Self-Defense Act of 2003′.
SEC. 2. FINDINGS.
The Congress finds the following:
(1) Police cannot protect, and are not legally liable for failing to protect, individual citizens, as evidenced by the following:
(A) The courts have consistently ruled that the police do not have an obligation to protect individuals, only the public in general. For example, in Warren v. District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department, 444 A.2d 1 (D.C. App. 1981), the court stated: `[C]ourts have without exception concluded that when a municipality or other governmental entity undertakes to furnish police services, it assumes a duty only to the public at large and not to individual members of the community.’.
(B) Former Florida Attorney General Jim Smith told Florida legislators that police responded to only 200,000 of 700,000 calls for help to Dade County authorities.
(C) The United States Department of Justice found that, in 1989, there were 168,881 crimes of violence for which police had not responded within 1 hour.
(2) Citizens frequently must use firearms to defend themselves, as evidenced by the following:
(A) Every year, more than 2,400,000 people in the United States use a gun to defend themselves against criminals–or more than 6,500 people a day. This means that, each year, firearms are used 60 times more often to protect the lives of honest citizens than to take lives.
(B) Of the 2,400,000 self-defense cases, more than 192,000 are by women defending themselves against sexual abuse.
(C) Of the 2,400,000 times citizens use their guns to defend themselves every year, 92 percent merely brandish their gun or fire a warning shot to scare off their attackers. Less than 8 percent of the time, does a citizen kill or wound his or her attacker.

A .38 revolver is a fine home defense weapon for a woman who knows only the basics of self preservation with a firearm, no doubt the case here. Shot placement and bullet selection are of vital consideration as well. The fact the woman shot 5 times is evidence in itself that she was shook, (understandibly) and uncertain of her shot placement (practice), typical of most female home invasion shootings. I doubt all 5 shots connected with her intended target, which by a different standard once again makes the case for the .38 (special I presume), in a home defensive situation, it’s lack of over penitration. I prefer the larger calibers myself or at least a .357 mag for the very same reason pointed out here. I’d rather be tried by 12 than to be carried by 6.
I agree, but a 357 magnum is a bit much for most women. She should have had hollow points. Myself I perfer a my shotgun. Hearing a shotgun being pumped is a good deterrent. 99% of intruders will turn around and leave as quietly as possible..
Indeed guns do save lives. Unfortunately for those of us interested in personal liberty & freedom/responsibility, they also inhibit total governmental control. This is the reason self-defense is under attack from the commielib left. There is no logical defense of the absurd concept that “gun control” reduces crime, in fact the reverse is absolutely proven. There is only one reason government develops an interest in “gun control” or any other “control” and that is because government is an evolutionary organism. What it focuses on is itself, it’s own further development, growth and security. The founders, particularly the anti-federalist amongst them, recognized this and wrote a constitution designed to limit this evolution. Yes, the very Constitution being ignored by that self-serving organism (our government) today. I haven’t verified this yet, but I’m told our magnificent congress is voting on an amendment to remove term limits from the Presidency (surprise, surprise). At the very core of the evolution of an absolutely controlling “government” is professionalism. Term limits and lack of “benefits” would deter the motivation.
Good for her! But I read somewhere else that she shot him 5 times IN THE FACE AND NECK, and the bastard still survived?? The perp must have some hard face!
Being that she fired 5 time tells me she was shaken and might have closed here eyes. If here aim was on he would be dead. I bet the Liberals want her charged with discharging a weapon in side city limits.
