Google’s aggressive tactics have put it on top of the business world, and now the Internet giant is looking to leverage the high profile and sterling connections of its CEO to achieve similar power in the political sphere.
Google boss Eric Schmidt is one of the nation’s most politically active business leaders — a man who uses the cachet of the company he leads, as well as his own charisma, to build strategic alliances in the Obama administration and on Capitol Hill.
Schmidt, 55, grew up in Washington and returns frequently to visit his mother, who still lives in Northern Virginia. Those trips often double as chances to meet with President Barack Obama, chat with staffers at the Federal Communications Commission and meet with top lawmakers.
Schmidt’s newly formed friendships in town have helped transform Google from a D.C. outsider into an Obama administration darling with growing clout in policy circles.
But the company’s increasing influence is at risk of a Washington backlash from politicians and competitors, some of whom said Google’s vast reach is raising privacy, antitrust and other concerns.

It it a well-established fact that Google gives YOUR personal information, including all your searches [complete with your ISP, your name and other identifying information] to the NSA, the FBI, Homeland security ET AL. THAT is why I refuse to use any damned Google app and refuse to believe one damned word they have to say about how "your privacy" is important to them. Don't forget, they are making hundreds of millions, if not billions off the sale of YOUR information the the feds.
Why the hell do you think all these cell phone companies want to push Google apps on you to install on your cellphone? Google is a close to "big brother" as you can get and almost there. They KNOW more than you think.
I subscribe to tech newsletters and they all are pushing Google, Google, Google this and that. Well, screw them and Google.
As for me, when I need to search, I use proxies and anonymous search engines. They're out ther, you just have to look. F_YOU Google.

i did not know this but ive noticed that alot of my conservative e-mails were being sent to my spam even though i subscribed to them and marked them as not spam. i have been using google chrome as a browser. i can't believe i was that stupid .does anybody know what is a safe browser is that i can use? im a beginner internet user but lifelong patriot. man do i want payback to these scum.

All most of us women just want is a man that makes us feel safe. Some one we can trust in and feel unconditionally loved by them. Some one we can have not only a home with but raise a family with. A man who opens car doors for us & pulls out our chairs for us when at a nice restaurant & someone who holds our coats for us when we put them on before going out in the cold. I also thought that I had responded to this, but it does not look like it? Any how, I'm retired, I'm married and Dee(Dolores) has been very loyal to me and vice versa for over 30 years. I have 3 step-children through her and 8 grandchildren and 1 great girl-baby grand-child that is now about 6 months that lives with us with he mother and Dee's youngest son!
About loyalty, Dee and I had visited Israel once many years ago and they pulled her out of line to inspect her baggage and stuff and Dee was telling me that I should of spoke up for her. I told her that they had said if anyone got stopped and checked in our party just to let it go and do not make a scene. I believed them and didn't say a word when they took her away. All must have gone well because she came home with me. However, I don't think what I think that is happening in America today will be quite the same as the experience! This will be the stuff that the Jews overseas were trying to prevent and their much better at it than us! In fact, now it looks as though our country is becoming our own enemy!

Although all she does when I say such is talk about the time that we were at the airport in Israel(Judah in reality, calling itself Israel, but that's besides the point) three(3) women soldiers pulled her out of the line and took her away to some room to inspect her baggage! However, I told her that I trusted them to be fair, but I wouldn't have been so friendly if it were to have happened in another country. It must have ended well, because Dee came back to America with me!
