MSNBC is “marked for death” and will be figuratively thrown under the bus and shot in the head by those on the political left. That’s the prediction of media giant Glenn Beck.
Beck was analyzing comments from former President Jimmy Carter, who told CNN yesterday that there have been distortions in news coverage on both sides of the political aisle.
“The talk shows with Glenn Beck and others on Fox News, I think, have deliberately distorted the news. And it’s become highly competitive,” Carter said. “And my Republican friends say that MSNBC might be just as biased on the other side in supporting the Democratic Party, the liberal element.”
On his radio show today, Beck predicted Carter’s sentiment will become echoed in the coming days:
They are going to make this into a regular talking point. You’re going to hear the liberals come out and start to throw MSNBC under the bus and throw them under the bus hard. And here’s why. MSNBC is marked for death. If it is sold to Comcast, Comcast will run it like a business. If it remains liberal, it will just be a good liberal station. It will just run things that will actually get ratings. If it’s not, it will most just likely be a news channel. I mean, I don’t know what they’re gonna do with it. but it won’t feature Keith Olbermann, and they know that.
Just like everyone, as soon as they start to outlive their usefulness for radicals and revolutionaries, they shoot them in the head, and that’s exactly what’s gonna happen to MSNBC. And they’ll offer up a false choice. They’ll say, “Look we’re willing to give up MSNBC. You just give up Fox, and then we can have real news.” Mark my words, that’s what they will say, “We’ll get rid of MSNBC and you get rid of Fox.” Yeah, really, you’ll do that? You’ll shoot the shows that nobody watches on one that’s marked for death anyway? Oh, well how big of you. I don’t think so.

Beck's got a point, and all know that libs announce their path of attack long before they make the moves to secure the objective. To stop them we will need fact, numbers and a lot of commonsense, just like the TSA move to experiment with cattle control of masses, these loonies will agi press to control the opposition by cuting off the information means and make all kinds of claims.
THe left is losing the information war but they will try and mandate, use exec order and generally make end runs to out flank the opposition as they have been doing but Americans are seeing thru their antics and putting obstactles in their way and the frustration for losing time and effort is growing on their side….look for more desperate moves.

The ONLY time I watch ABC, CBS, NBC, or MSNBC is for local news or sports. All their national news
has the liberal spin on it. When I want the unspun news I watch Fox News—-the channel that Obama
hates. The others mentioned are ao in bed with Obama it is PATHETIC.

This is exactly what I predicted the Left would do. They (GE is the liberal proxy for the moment) will offer up a ratings-dead network as a "compromise" proposal in order to have conservatives bring pressure to bear on FOX to either report the news in the manner of the networks or pull the plug entirely. The liberal argument is that "we'll lose our progressive bully if the Right will do the same with their broadcast champion." Since liberals run the nets, and since MSNBC is doomed regardless (seen their ratings lately?), they actually lose nothing in the deal, whereas conservatives will lose the only cable news outlet that actually reports ALL of the news. And yes, they report it with a decidedly non-progressive slant. That dog just won't hunt.

"They" are the members of the Progressive political machine, who would gladly sacrifice a ratings-challenged cable news network if it means the end of Obama's most consistently painful burr in his saddle, FOX News. Don't worry, though; even though liberals would be willing to eat their young to make this happen it won't come to that. GE, or Comcast, stand to be reimbursed handsomely by the machine, either of which would be all too happy to jettison MSNBC if it were to result in the simultaneous end of FOX News.
It's all pointless speculation anyway because, regardless of what happens to MSNBC, FOX isn't going anywhere. I just thought Id clarify who "they" are.

It's worth the old college try. You're right, though…most successful businesses have a tendency to remain in business.
Which makes me wonder: when people say the major energy companies aren't interested in finding alternate forms of fuel, aren't they missing the obvious? These companies are as aware as you and I that fossil fuel won't last forever; wouldn't it be to these companies' advantage to be working slavishly to develop new energy sources? It wouldn't make good business sense to shutter the company because fossil fuel is no longer available.
