(CNN) – Newt Gingrich went after candidates who “adopt radically different positions” Monday, positioning himself as a “conservative alternative” to fellow contender Mitt Romney in the race for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination.
Speaking to Charleston, South Carolina radio station WSC, Gingrich said his record was stronger, and more consistent, than the record of the former Massachusetts governor.
“There needs to be a solid conservative alternative to Mitt Romney, and I’m the one candidate that can bring together a national security conservative, and economic conservative, and social conservative, to make sure we have a conservative nominee,” said the former House Speaker.
He continued, “I wouldn’t lie to the American people, I wouldn’t switch my position for political reason. It’s perfectly reasonable to change positions if you see new things you didn’t see. Everybody does that, Ronald Reagan did that. If you go around and adopt radically different positions based on need for any one election, people will ask, ‘What will you tell me next time?’”
Speaking for the first time about Sunday’s high-profile endorsement from the New Hampshire Union Leader, Gingrich said it put his campaign in a new competitive mode in the Granite State.

Gingrich is also more "conservative" than Stalin and Hitler, so what does that prove to the real American voters? Newt is a fake Conservative, and my advice to voters: do some real research, for most of our Republican candidates are anything but Conservative. We have been manipulated by the worthless leaders of both parties, and either voters grow some working brain cells before this primary and general elections, or you can go home and prepare for life as a slave. Gingrich is a One World traitor, and little he says can be taken as truth. His record of failures speak for themselves, and is associations speak volumes of his evil heart. I trust only one candidate this year, and that is Ron Paul. This will probably be my last year as a Republican, for I am failing to see any real difference between the Democrats and Republicans. Both seek to destroy Freedom and Liberty, and this should be plain to anyone who has truly followed the news for a few decades. At least some of the young people are showing far more intelligence and discrimination than their older counterparts, and this gives me some hope.
Remember the new deal with america. were ole newt talked a good talk and Clinton and newt made out with the nafta free trade deal selling ameican jobs. Now the chickens have come home to roost and were are our jobs? Then the scab wants to be president to finish the agenda. Newt is a member of the new world order bunch. And if clinton speaks highly of him on illeagels, Well that's enough for me. Also newt got 1.4 million from Fannie mae for what keeping his mouth shut. I think since we tax payers have bailed out Fannie newt should return the loot.
Dear Geral Your advice is wise but I don't care whom it is that replaces Barry, anyone is more conservative than him. If you back a loser and then get upset and don't vote then we get four more years of Barry Unplugged and not caring one iota about what he does becuase he can't run again. Think the first four years were bad, just wait. Barry unplugged will finish the job he started, destruction of this wonderful country.

After the Iowa Caucus everybody will be talking about the resurgence of Michele Bachmann and Newt will be old news in spite of all the attempts to paint a foregone conclusion by the media. In the end it will come down to who you can trust.

Well the GOP has sure tried to promote their "good ole boy" network even more so this time than usual, but I think they have, once again, underestimated Michele. After having survived Nancy Pelosi and Bill Clinton tag-teaming to bring her down in 2010, she is not a novice in these things. The Alinsky disciples have practically dedicated their lives to end her chances this time..but that all changes when the voting begins.
Newt as a historian and political manipulator I have to hand it to you, as a conservative you are no better than John Boehner and he sounds good but I just don't trust him because what he says is not what he does…..but if your all I have and the RINO's stick me with you, well with some hard work we can keep you on the path.

Newt Gingrich turned his back on guns and voted for the anti-gun Brady Campaign’s Lautenberg Gun Ban. Newt Gingrich is no friend of gun owners. He refuses to return the National Association for Gun Rights Presidential Survey.
He simply can’t be trusted and he is NOT a Conservative.
