Soros ‘Buying Reporters’ for NPR

The left loves to go wild claiming that Rupert Murdoch, a famous conservative, owns a few news outlets. The left is also aghast that well known righty Roger Ailes guides Fox News. Ailes’s ideology makes of his network a compromised product, they claim. It’s all a travesty of “news,” and “proof” that those agencies are contaminated by right-wing ideology say lefty detractors. So, with the news that George Soros is buying one hundred political “reporters” for National Public Radio (NPR), one waits with bated breath for the left to decry the fact that a famous anti-American leftist is buying and influencing the “news.” One will likely wait in vain, too.

In fact, The New York Times doesn’t even mention the left-wing ideology of the foundation that is supplying $1.8 million to NPR so it can hire political reporters across the country.

The left-wing Open Society Foundations is donating the large sum to NPR for a project being called “Impact of Government.” The project is planning to add at least 100 reporters across the country to cover local state house politics to fill the holes left by the firing of so many local reporters due to the contraction in the field of journalism over the last decade.

Soros Donating $1M to Media Matters

Media Matters, the liberal activist group that wages a rhetorical war against Fox News Channel and others in the conservative press, will announce on Wednesday the receipt of a $1 million donation from the philanthropist George Soros.

In a statement obtained by The Caucus, the organization says it plans to use the money to intensify its efforts to hold the Fox host Glenn Beck and others on the cable news channel accountable for their reporting.

“Fox has transformed itself into a 24-7 G.O.P. attack machine, dividing Americans through fear-mongering and falsehoods and undermining the legitimacy of our government for partisan political ends,” the group will say in the statement, to be released Wednesday afternoon.

Sic 'im Glenn! He's a greedy traitor and ought to be exposed for what he really is!

  2. Go after him Glenn!
This immoral communist must be cornered. i dream of the day he will be prohibited into coming to USA! Persona non grata, as he is in England.

  3. Thank God for Glenn and his courage. He is amazing. Exposing the criminals among us that want to control and dictate our every move, is very appreciated.

  4. I did enjoy Glenn's show last night. He is one of a kind and so of course the left can not stand him. They are out calling him names (Their usual response when they don't have facts). I watch when I can and I have never heard one person he has talked about respond to his "Questions". They have no answers and can not debunk what he says, so they call him names. Just answer the questions! George Soros is not American so the only way he can have power is to support the democrats and mislead people with origination's like move on dot org, media matters and of course the Tide Foundation. JUST COME ON THE SHOW GEORGE, Glenn offered you one whole hour last night . He will not because Glenn might ask some tough and true questions that George can't answer. Excuse me for a minute while I turn into a hypocrite and call him a name. "Chicken". Considering the things posted on any of the above web sites about Glenn, that was mild. George "Chicken" Soros.

Mr. Soros' money will be appreciated I'm sure by the lapdog journalists who will write to meet marxist goal oriented specifications. It will stimulate the economy a bit I am sure, much like the Fed's printing of fiat money to artifically boost the economy, like a free fix for a junkie that the rest of the country of working americans are subsudising….Since its net effect will be like polishing brass on a sinking ship, it will make some feel better, however do nothing to keep the ship afloat longer than physics will allow. People are waking up and we are tired of this BS me thinks….

NPR / National Public Radio & George Soros are a match made in HELL!

Just what we need! Another 100 Far Left Liberal Progressive News Reporters giving us their version of the news & how the world should revolve!

Soros the most corrupt human being on earth & NPR / National Public Radio a far left Liberal dominated radio station have much in common when it comes to promoting Liberal Progressive Communist idealism!.

  7. Hot Cougar says:

    Victor!

George Soros is funding the additional 100 news reporters for NPR / National Public Radio. Juan Williams was fired by NPR due to his comment on The O'Reilly Factor pertaining to muslims. The Fox News Network in my opinion would be making a mistake to hire Juan Williams on a full time basis. During & since the 2008 elections Juan Williams comments have become in my opinion more racial & further to the far left. Reference: Fox News Network October 20th, 2010 The O'Reilly Factor Juan Williams attacked unfairly & with bias The Tea Party as having racist within it's organization & some of it's members not only making racist remarks but as well for displaying racist oriented posters. Additionally it would not bother me at all if The Fox News Network terminated Juan Williams contract.

  8. As one would expect from Beck, there's a bit of difference being glossed over here. While the grant from Soros' foundation may be used to hire reporters, presumably NPR will still decide who to hire and how to use them.

In the meantime, Murdoch/News Corp has given $1.25 million to the Republican Governors Association and $1 million to the conservative Chamber of Commerce: http://www.forbes.com/2010/10/21/billionaire-poli

Oh, and those "few news outlets" Murdoch owns? News Corp is the world's third-largest media conglomerate. Besides Fox News and other Fox holdings, Murdoch controls the Wall Street Journal, the New York Post, more than 50 other newspapers and dozens of broadcast stations.

    • Hot Cougar says:

      James?

Lol! Presumably? I can presume alot of things as well!

Lol! Murdoch/News Corp.? I assume that you presume again that this is some way relevant?

      • Read the first sentence of the post–or have someone read it to you, perhaps slowly–and the relevance should be clear, even to you. Well, maybe not. But I wasn't writing my comment for you, anyway.

        • Edwardkoziol says:

Your a rotten bastard you seems to think your the only educated one on everything. How much did Murdoch give to slimy democrats and besides your uncle Soros gives enough to take down America. If anybody should die of aids it should be George Soros and his people.what really surprizes me that you would want a one world government.

          • No, I think there are a lot of educated people (most of whom know the correct spelling of "you're" and would put a period or semicolon after "bastard"). That's why I suggested that your cybersweetie find one of those folks to explain my first comment to him/her.

          • Hot Cougar says:

            James Ok!

Since you want to be such a jerk!
I will not be nice to you any more!

You'r statement still had little relevance if any at all! You are just being the typical liberal, progressive & communist jerk that you are!

          • "I will not be nice to you any more!"

Ah, and I'd been feeling such love from you up until now. ;-) By the way, is there an insult in your limited repertoire that you haven't used in referring to me previously?

As for the relevance of the comment, feel free to have someone else explain it to you. I have neither the time nor the interest to do so.

          • Hot Cougar says:

James i am always nice to you!

Lol! Just ask anyone on this site.
What insults are you relating to?

I have no interest in what you may say pertaining to the relevance of your comment for you would simply spin or lie anyway!

          • Always nice? That's funny. You're either delusional or intentionally lying, as anyone who has read even the commnets on this post can clearly see. Not that I mind the insults, of course, especially from you.

          • Hot Cougar says:

            James you are welcome!

No i am not delusional or lying though i am sure that you would wish so.
What insults exeactly are you referring to? I have never insulted you! I have only stated facts! You appear to be more delusional than any one i know on this site. As for lying you most certainly are the winner in that category.

            Have a nice weekend!

          • You're obviously lying again, as anyone who has read half a dozen or so of your comments can tell. But do keep it up–it does wonders for your credibility.

          • Hot Cougar says:

            Edawrd,
            My sentiments exactly!

        • Hot Cougar says:

          James Ok!

It is still not very relevevant!

          Have a nice weekend! Jerk!

  9. The problem with supporting NPR is that it is partially funded by the people's tax dollars. It is time for Congress to disband tax support for NPR and let the market provide the news.

    • Perhaps, though public funding provides well under 20 percent of the average station's budget. And NPR stations in in big cities (typically more liberal) get less than that, while stations in rural (typically more conservative) areas get far more (up to 70 percent) of their operating budgets from public funding.

In short, cutting off government funding won't kill NPR in liberal areas, but it might in conservative ones. Maybe that's OK with you–but those rural areas also have fewer other options for the classical music, jazz and opera that the market is less likely to support. And I happen to know it's not just liberals who appreciate those forms of the arts.

      • Hot Cougar says:

With our terrible economy & nation in debt this is definitely one area we can cut!

The Arts will survive just as they did prior to the invention of radio.

  12. Michael Kauppi says:

And I wonder what Soros, Obama, and the rest of the Democrats think CBS, NBC, MSNBC, ABC, CNN, NPR, PBS, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Atlanta Constitution Journal, etc., etc., etc, are? All of these are nothing but shills for the Democrat Party. If it weren't for Fox News, Conservative Talk Radio, and the Internet, America would be totally void of a balanced presentation of political news and commentary.

  13. Gary in Colo says:

Juan Williams as a real liberal, probably as liberal as Jason Levin and James McPherson,
just demonstrated what a liberal really is. Just because it was on O'Reilly's program
and of all places -Fox News- you know it will be the tea party's fault!
I just wonder how long it will be till Juan's comments will be portrayed as that racist O'Reilly's
    comments?

  14. True Murdoch is an American citizen–but mostly because he had to become one (and to sell off newspapers he then owned in Chicago and New York) to get FCC approval to own Fox in addition to his other holdings. He did own many American media properties before becoming a citizen, however.

Like the fact that he simultaneously offers both Fox News and the trashy Fox entertainment network, Murdoch became a citizen for the money. And generally speaking, I share your concern for the amount of money used to try to sway campaigns.

    • Hot Cougar says:

      James,

Murdoch, Fox News & Entertainment really gets under your skin!
      GOOD!

Have a nice weekend sissy boy!

      • I take it from your pseudonym that you're probably a fan of Fox, the network probably most often criticized for crudeness and obscenity by Brent Bozell's Parents Television Council? I'd be willing to bet that some other folks here are less enthused by the Fox entertainment television offerings.

        • Hot Cougar says:

James any one on this site who knows me from my previous comments will verify that i am not a Fox fan.

As usual you are spining the facts about Fox with you'r opinions!
          'the network probably most criticized'
          "I'd be willing to bet"
          Have you no shame James!

The money is the biggest thing wrong with our system today. Why should anybody except a registered voter within the district be allowed to fund any politician? Politicians are supposed to REPRESENT THE VOTERS IN THEIR DISTRICT. These are the folks who should be paying for the campaigns and ONLY these folks. Corporations cannot vote; PACs cannot vote; etc. They should not be contributing. Congresscritters would be funded by voters in their district; Senators statewide; Presidents nation wide.
