When Democrats said President Obama was “pro-business,” we didn’t know they meant one business in particular.
There are a few companies on the Obama corporate A List – Democratic patrons Google and Goldman Sachs both turn up again and again at White House functions and for special recognition – but no company seems to get the VIP treatment that General Electric receives.
Obama will announce today on a visit to a G.E. plant in Schenectady, N.Y. that G.E. CEO Jeffrey Immelt will lead his new Council on Jobs and Competitiveness. The panel replaces the President’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board led by former Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volker.
Volker, who helped President Ronald Reagan whip inflation and launch two decades of growth, will be replaced by Immelt, who has often spoken of his desire to put G.E. on the inside track for government subsidies and incentives in the Obama era.
Whether it is pushing the president’s plan for global warming fees in order to create demand for his “Ecomagination” line of windmills, solar panels, etc., boosting the president’s national health-care law as part of an effort to sell more medical equipment, or enthusing over the Obama strategy of making loans available for industrial exporters, Immelt has been an Obama stalwart all along. Immelt has also consistently argued to shareholders that there is big money to be made in advancing the Democratic agenda.

This appointment is a conflict of interests for Inmelt.
I boycott GE and have for a a couple of years. Under Imelt GE is a scumbag company. They sell to Iran, they had their business classified a bank so they could get stimulas money. All the new crap light bulbs are forced on Americans because GE is in bed with B Hussein about psuedo global warming!

I can remember when my brother worked at the GE transformer plant in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. He told me one day that there was a letter on the bulletin board from upper management that extolled their support for the American workers. It also suggested that American workers should buy American products…it's their patriotic duty. On the board next to that letter was a press release about GE's purchase of parts from Japan for 3 million dollars…parts that GE used to make in the US. GE has always been two-faced. This was in 1975. Most of the GE plant in Pittsfield was plowed under within the last 7 years, they went from the biggest employer to practically nothing.

James they were the only ones in the area that already had the Equipment, so I suppose it would of been alright with you if we bought all the expensive equipment and trained a bunch of people to run the new equipment and then put all the oil fires out the nut case Iraqi leader started. Now that would of been a real cost savings. They also got some no bid contracts from President Clinton and the Barry the chosen one to. This is no surprise. Immelt and Obama have been buds for awhile. GE used to run commercials on equipment they were manufacturing for entering medical data on patients. Their spill was how efficient and readily accessible medical info would be to all medical entities. No more having to call and wait for info from a doctor's office. Info was just a key stroke away. They were running these ads when the big push was going on for Obamacare. After people started finding out what was in Obamacare and everything hit the fan, the commercials miraculously faded away. Now, the question is, "was there a contract with GE to produce the systems to input and store data on patients?" I think so. It's just too much of a coincidence that they started manufacturing these systems when Obamacare was in the works and their function mirrored Obama's claims. Did they get paid for equipment that may never be used if Obamacare is repealed? It's just my opinion but I believe that's a good possibility. GE in Louisville got $600M of TARP money. GE and affiliates are far left leaning so I think it's a matter of, "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours."
I have to add to my post. From what I understand, the TARP funds are going for the manufacture of a new type of water heater.
Immelt is such a wonderful CEO that he ran GE, and its stock into the ground, and now he's going to help the Obama Administration do the same to our country. He has the entire framework in place for all those "green jobs" selling Global warming and Cap & Trade. You know as Obama said himself-"Under his plan, the cost of energy would skyrocket" (and so will GE's profits) Has anyone in this regime ever heard of "conflict of interest?"GE and Immelt, and all those other Czars of the Socialist agenda are now PART of the government.
