‘Gay’ Clergy Issue Splitting Churches

Cross SC Gay Clergy Issue Splitting Churches

The Church of Scotland is experiencing a rift for the same reason churches in the U.S. are breaking away from their denominations.

Members of an old Church of Scotland in Glasgow celebrated Christmas in new facilities this year after closing St. George’s Tron over the issue of the ordination of homosexuals. Before closing its doors, the church’s last service was held December 9. More than 500 worshippers came to hear Rev. Dr. Willie Philip deliver the final sermon.

That is a reflection of what is happening in reform churches worldwide, particularly in the Presbyterian Church USA, says Carmen Fowler LaBerge of the Presbyterian Lay Committee. LaBerge says it is not the church that is leaving the denomination; the denomination is leaving its members behind over theological disputes.

“We have Presbyterians who have been raised believing that the Bible is the Word of God, Jesus is the only way to salvation, that we are called to, by the power of the Holy Spirit, conform to the revealed will of God in the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments,” LaBerge accounts.

But, she continues, there is also the emerging liberal group “believing that the Bible is a reference point to the Word of God, believing that Jesus is one way to salvation, believing that we are supposed to be adapting what our view of God is to the world in which we live,” the Committee president notes.

  1. “. . . adapting what our view of God is to the world we live.” This liberal way of thinking is Satan’s way not God’s way. What’s happening in the Chirstian Churches, including the Catholic Church, is the Clergy and lay people are putting man at the center of their worship and putting God to the side. When you remove God from the center of your life you open the door to Satan — anti-Christ. And that is what is happening. There is an apostasy, especially in the Catholic Church and, of course, other Christian Churches — like the acceptance of homosexuality which is clearly condemned as an abomination to God in the Bible and the acceptance of abortion (child-killing) as some sort of good for the majority of mankind which is clearly condemned as murder in the Bible — “Thou Shalt Not Kill.” This is making the way for the coming of the anti-Christ as predicted in the Revelations of the Bible. We are to conform ourselves to the Will of God not conform God to our way of thinking. We are living in the end times and the Christian Churches, especailly the Catholic Church, is in a state of apostasy. Soon, with the coming of the anti-Christ the faithful remnant of the Church will break off from the apostates and will have to go underground to worship God because of persecution. But, the anti-Christ’s reign will not be as long as he thinks. (Satan thinks he’ll reign forever). But, Jesus Christ will come “like a theif in the night” and put all His enemies under His feet and bring His Kingdom down on earth. And He will always, forever, be at the center of man’s, angel’s and all His creation’s worship. “And His Kingdom will never end.” But, Satan will be defeated and Satan’s reign will be destroyed.
