Yeah, but what happens when you’re accosted by a criminal who’s a product of the government’s public schools, and he can’t read the sign?
Good one! LOL! The government wants gun free zones for us, but Obama’s children go to a private school in DC that has eleven full time armed guards. The government wants to disarm us so they can enslave us more than they are already doing.
Great fairy tale! Stupid people don’t want guns? Fine, we do and we know who will be safer, don’t we? DC, NY, Connecticutt, Chicago, etc. are gun controlled zones. Guess what? They have more gun crimes than other cities/states. Gun control is just that CONTROL not safety. If you don’t want a gun, you have the right not to buy or own a gun, but don’t take my right(s) away because you are an idiot looking for a utopia that has never and never will happen as long as human beings exist. Now, that is simple logic but brain deaders just won’t understand it, will they? So, they can place gun free zone signs in their homes, schools, etc. and suffer the consequences of being stupid. The rest of us are not stupid and in today’s world, guns are a necessity!
I was in Prescott AZ about 1-1/2 years ago and my girlfriend and I wanted to grab a bite to eat. The first place in the downtown area had a sign, “No Guns Allowed” . I went in to talk to the owner and asked if he had a gun under the counter, has said no, I said well that means everyone in here is defenseless against a nut job that decided to come in here a blow people away. He asked what my point was, I simply said I didn’t feel safe in his establishment and if I could not come in with my side arm concealed he was going to lose my business. He did lose our business and from what I was observing, most people who saw the sign walked away. That is my policy for any business that post these types of sign. In this economy these types of no gun policies are the real losers.

“Gun Free Zone” to a criminal on the street means a green light to kill at schools, courts, homes, etc. Unarmed citizens to a tyrannical, criminal government means a greens light to kill millins upon millions of those same citizens.
Line the schools with fences, wire on top, gates-just like prisons-keeps people from grabbing your children-slows drug traffic and creates jobs for those putting up the fences.
The Senate Public Health Committee passed both HB0815 (Large Capacity Magazine & Shooting Range Licensing Bill) and HB1263 (Semi-Automatic Weapons Ban) tonight. There will be a vote on the bills TOMORROW.
There is no doubt this is being done in Illinois simultaneously with Senator Diane Feinstein’s bill.

Assault weapons ban passes Illinois Senate committee
SPRINGFIELD – This evening, a Senate committee passed an assault weapons ban along party lines. State Senator Bill Brady (R-Bloomington) comments:

Senate committee tonight approved bans on assault weapons and high capacity magazines on partisan rollcalls. Current owners would have to register weapons with state police. I think law abiding Illinoisans should have freedom to have weapons of their choice in their residence to defend their homes and families and will vote against the bill on final vote.
Illinois Moves to Outlaw Modern Firearms and Criminalize Owners
Illinois Senate President John Cullerton introduced a draconian bill today in the Illinois legislature that will effectively ban all modern firearms, criminalize their owners, and subject their guns to confiscation by the Illinois State Police.
The proposed outlawing of firearms was confirmed by the NRA’s Illinois rep, according to Robert Farago, writing for The Truth About Guns website.
The move coincides with a federal effort by Senator Dianne Feinstein to introduce legislation outlawing semiautomatic firearms and imposing de facto confiscation.
From the Illinois State Rifle Association:
Based on what we know about Cullerton’s bill, firearms that would be banned include all semiautomatic rifles, pistols, and shotguns. Pump action shotguns would be banned as well.
This would be a very comprehensive ban that would include not only so-called ‘assault weapons’ but also such classics as M1 Garands and 1911-based pistols. There would be no exemptions and no grandfathering. You would have a very short window to turn in your guns to the State Police to avoid prosecution.
Folks monitoring the effort to disembowel the Second Amendment in the Land of Lincoln say the bill has a 50-50 chance of passage. They advise gun owners both in and out-of-state to call Senate President Cullerton at 217-782-2000 and contact state representatives at ilga.gov.
In addition to outlawing a large number of firearms, the legislation will target shooting ranges in the state. “Not only are they going after semi-autos and magazines, but they are going after ranges,” the Illinois Carry website reports.
In November, we reported on Illinois governor Pat Quinn’s attempt to circumvent the legislature and impose an assault weapons ban. State Sen. Dave Luechtefeld, a Republican from Okawville, led an override that defeated the governor.
In early December, gun grabbers in the state were dealt a setback when the U.S. Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals ruled the state’s ban on carrying a weapon in public is unconstitutional.
“We are disinclined to engage in another round of historical analysis to determine whether eighteenth-century America understood the Second Amendment to include a right to bear guns outside the home. The Supreme Court has decided that the amendment confers a right to bear arms for self-defense, which is as important outside the home as inside,” the court ruled.

I understand that the Illinois Senate is in the process of preparing a gun-control bill to be passed very rapidly during the lame duck session.
As a supporter of Second Amendment rights, I would likely object to the merits of the bill, if I knew what was in it.
But, even more than that, a rushed bill on a subject of such intense public interest is a very bad idea.
The recent Seventh Circuit ruling instructed the State of Illinois to craft a bill with reasonable restrictions on guns.
The way to prepare any such new law is in public, in daylight, with time to debate, not in a rush which is not based on any real need.
Any such new law will be tainted as purely based on political game-playing.
I ask you to avoid that, and to work with your colleagues on a law that can withstand the ordinary process of public vetting.

I get that Gun Free Zones are not feeling safe these days. However, would you really like patients or former patients at a Mental Hospital or Clinic bringing a gun into the building? How about at hospitals and doctors offices? Tensions and emotions run high at these places, would you like visitors to bring in their guns? What about the patient who tried to commit suicide only to be saved by the doctor or hospital? Would you like that person to bring a concealed gun in and then finish the job or better yet shoot the doctor or nurse because they did their job? How about a guns in church? Are you safer knowing that the Priest carries one? Think of how many sick Priests or Ministers there are, you know the ones they are called “Pediphiles”, think how they could use a gun to force their will on someone weaker or even children. How about a parishoner carrying one into the confessional? You don’t like what the Priest has to say about your penance, shoot him? Vigilante justice is not getting us anywhere.
“Gun Free Zones are not feeling safe”??? Zones have no feeling. However, both misinformed and informed human beings concerned with the safety of others are yet free to maintain their personal gun free existence. Their difference of opinion related to their constitutional rights can only be presented for observation without fear of retribution when the first amendment is guaranteed by the second.
All the tensions and emotions you have mentioned contributory to fear within such institutions have no constitutional cure. and usually are ignored except when financially or politically acceptable for gain using the cooked books of government filtered statistics presented by their proven corrupt agencies designed to misinform tax payers. A rising interest in the psychology and delayed violent reaction to psychotropic prescriptions may reveal hope for your concern but only if your first amendment right remains guaranteed and exercised.
Truthful statistics have always debunked the fallacy of safety within any gun free zone. To the contrary, perpetrators of violence find them highly desirable while harboring the same deserved fear within the corrupt elect unable to uphold their sworn oaths of office whether for political or financial purpose.
Paranoid psychotics matured from the robust field of neurotic personalities within and without of government learn fast to be shrewd enough to ace any psychological exam by shrinks on the second try. Hence their long running success taking the lives of unsuspecting victims. The market for drugs indicated for treatment for stress and PTSD
alone surpasses that of illegal drugs exclusive of the cost of attempted control of one and not the other. The single goal of one is profit with power added for the other.
While it may be difficult admit the audacity of your contentions one would assume that you’ve never been at the wrong end of a barrel to justify your concern. But by the presence of your protected conservation herein it’s trust responsibility is easily reinforced with search for statistics from sources other than those of government approved TV media agenda.
