Forget “RINO”; Rove And Their Ilk Are Just Republicans

Republican Elephant 2 SC Forget RINO; Rove And Their Ilk Are Just Republicans

Overuse of a word sometimes causes it to lose its meaning. As ugly an insult as being called a “Nazi” once was, in the mind of some Americans who think World War II was fought one hundred years ago, its overuse has caused the word to now connote a “busybody” or a “stickler for rules.”  “Soup Nazi” makes this point.  As an insult, there is no longer any sting in the word “Nazi.”

RINO “Republican In Name Only” is an insult whose time has come and gone as well.  “RINO” as an insult to Republicans who were not conservatives, or failed to stand up to liberals in the public area, had a rather short life. A search of the word reveals that although it may have been around since the 1920s, it didn’t find its way into print until December 1992.

As an insult, “RINO” labels someone as an outcast and not in the mainstream of Republicanism. Nevertheless, the word RINO has traveled a straight line from indicating someone who is outside the norm to firmly being in the new normal for the GOP. The question now is: how can someone be insulted by a word that is merely descriptive, truth being a defense to slander?

Saying Bill Clinton was an “Impeached President” is descriptive, not pejorative. It’s what he is.

The feckless conduct of elected and celebrated Republicans has reached a tipping point. Saying someone is a RINO is now meaningless because when many if not a majority of Republicans act as this current crop acts, NO ONE is a RINO.

The greatest danger we face, as we try to save ourselves and our country from the Marxist regime in the White House, is the Republican Party. It masquerades as our friends, but it is worse than the Democrat Party. Democrats make no pretense of their positions and intentions. They want to destroy us. Both follow their own agenda. The Democrats take and hold power by appealing to the basic greed of their voters. The Republicans hold some power by making believe they are fighting for those of us who are being victimized by the Democrats.

So who is a RINO? Let’s just call people like Karl Rove and George Will what they are (Republicans) and be done with it.

  1. How about we call the statist republicans traitors instead?

  2. Another thought in line with the author’s article … remember the old saying “New boss, same as the old boss.”?

How about “Republicrats and Demicans … same snake, different head.?

  3. Time to end the 158 year long 2 party political reign of terror that has been forced on this Republic:

  4. I think you could not be more wrong. The Republican party simply has to get rid of the RINO’s and wait. Sooner or later this country’s economy will be destroyed. Either a destruction from which something might be salvaged or complete destruction from which who knows what might happen. But either way nothing good can come from appeasing the Dems. What the RINO’s are doing is just hastening the end. Somebody has got to stand up for conservatism. It is the only hope (and I agree it is a slim hope) we have. The Boehners, the Roves, the Grahams, and the rest must go! Excuse the language but them and me cannot be members of the same party. Either I and millions like me can leave and go somewhere else or they can leave and let us have back the smoking ruins they have left of The “Grand Ole Party”

  5. Show me your friends and deeds and you show what you are. Liberals who are pro choice, welfare. dependent and government ruled are in contrast to the Conservaive, prolife, independent and self governing. . Currently an over reaching president using illegally “priveleges”and far reaching rules is quickly restricting us. They are using documentation for “health reasons or wealth reasons”which scares me as it sounds like a dictatorship. In contrast, even though it may require people to self support, work for one’s self or private industry and the ability to keep one’s earnings and a have a freedom of American citizenship.it twill be the last chance to be a free conservative. Our country, the land of our fathers needs to be preserved as a free nation the world’s last bastion of hope. Government stifles ingenuity. This more than likely will be the last chance to rid the cancer that is gnawing at our freedom commanded by the constitution.

  6. Jeff Flake is a perfect example of a RINO, as is John McCain. If you go to Wikipedia you can view the voting records of politician’s, and you will notice that both of the above, tend not to vote party line. When you stop and think about how they got to where they are in Congress, they did so by lying to their constitutes. Those two are not alone, many other Republican’s do not support their party as do Democrats.

When they ran for their position in the Senate, they ran as Republican’s and told us that they support Republican values, yet once secure in office they vote not with the Republican Party, but with the Democrats on many key and important issues.

The Republican’s that sent them to Congress and gave them an elitist lifestyle did not get what they thought that they would receive which was loyalty to them and to the Republican Party. I don’t know if anyone has noticed but all Democrats stick together and all Democrats support each other and all Democrats vote the party-line, no matter what.

Without a doubt, Republican’s can learn from the Democrats the importance of loyalty to both their constitutes, and to their party.
