Former Black Panther and left-wing activist Brandon Darby told a packed East Orlando Tea Party this week that he left the Black Panthers because basically he loves America. He said he just couldn’t take it anymore when he happened upon a video training session by anarchist leaders showing gullible young men how to make Molotov cocktails to shut down the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis in 2008.
”Anarchists were showing videos of throwing Molotov cocktails at corporate systems,” Darby said. The ingredients were bought at a local big box and built using tampons as wicks with oil laced into the gasoline “to better stick to the skin,” like homemade napalm. Darby said something snapped in his consciousness when these radicals began openly calling for shutting down the convention by any means possible, simply because they didn’t like what the Republicans and Sarah Palin were saying.
“That’s bullying,” he said. Giving a heads-up to organizers for the August 27, 2012, GOP convention at the Tampa Convention Center, the now conservative forum speaker is warning what could happen again. He said a definite structure of planners had set up a three part division of responsibilities in the leftist camp:
- The Reds, the hardcore anarchists dressed in black, whose sole aim was to fight the police;
- The Yellows, who were tasked with blocking roads to the Xcel site; and
- The Greens, a loosely knit collection of about 10,000 routine protestors.
“I want to get those who want to destroy our country,” he told thecConservatives in a big media event ignored by the local print outlet in a new expression of liberal bias by omission. The liberal media at the time, in typical progressive media-speak, said Darby exhibited a “hyper-masculinity” that led astray the gullible youths who had plans to lob gasoline bombs into a parking lot of cop cars. These two young men, however, received jail terms.
Darby is a great example of the virtues writers praised years ago. A runaway at an early age, he wandered through teen runaway life before getting sucked into the Black Panther Party. Darby turned FBI informant after meeting Police Major John Bryson, who was in charge of New Orleans’s famed Ninth Ward. After Bryson rescued a former Panther stranded by Katrina, he started to realize that police do care and that “not all cops are pigs.”
What really convinced him to follow the right path was the fact that more than 20,000 brilliant leftists could not establish order out of the Katrina chaos. When he looked out over his audience, he said, “I knew I did the right thing.”
He made a right turn to save his beloved country from the same kind of chaos he sees coming to overtake all of America.

I'm sure there are a number of felony charges that can be brought against him. If treason is one of them, and it could be, it may be appropriate to execute him. However, we are still in a time when civil discourse has been removed from politics. We need to get back to it. This started with the Nixon era, was continued in Gerald Ford's administration by the press presenting him as a clumsy oaf, their attacks on Ronald Regan, and then Clinton's impeachment. Many felt that George Bush stole the 2000 and 2004 elections. So today we're at the point where Bush administration officials have been on the edge of war crime prosecution, while many of us want to push for prosecution of Obama acolytes. I include myself there, but I also see that continuing this sort of attack can very well further splinter this country. At some point we need to stop it. It will never fix itself. I'm not sure when that time is, though.

BTW, there were people found who said they did not go in to vote, but since they did not go in there was no way to prove they had actually gone to the polling place and left…so the media and the courts refused to take their statements at face value. Lack of proof of intimidation, does not mean lack of intimidation. How far do you think we should allow people to go in their attempts to intimidate voters? Should they be able to just carry their clubs or should they be able to swing them as long as they do not actually make contact. Oh, It's YOU again…..There was a CONVICTION that was thrown out. Julie Fernandez of the voter rights division told the lawyers in that division that no cases would be pursued where victims were white and defendants were minorities…how racist is that? Lady Justice has a blindfold for a reason…she is supposed to be blind to things like race and only evaluate the facts and circumstance. I watched streaming live testimony of J. Christian Adams and Christopher Coates before the Voting Rights Commission. Bartle Bulls (I believe that is the correct spelling) who was a Democrat and premier civil rights advocate gave a statement and multiple interviews as to the intimidation he saw in that day in 2008 at that particular polling facility.

Here is Holder, when facing Republican complaints about him dropping charges, using the straw man argument that the Black Panther polling incident did not rise to the level of voter intimidation during the civil rights movement and was therefor irrelevant.
Neither are right wing sites. Anyone who believes that ANY kind of voter intimidation, or even attempts at such intimidation, is acceptable is simply a fool. Keep in mind that what you find acceptable behavior for your own party will immediately have legal precedence as acceptable when the opposing party takes up the same type of actions. And there are enough hate filled people in BOTH parties to cause quite a bit of trouble if we allow the behavior of the Black Panthers to become mainstream.

Not all planned protests take place. There were definately protests planned to cause problems at the 2008 convention. Having survived the protests of the 1960's and 1970's, I know that they do not always happen as planned. The fact that there was training is disturbing. We have also seen how anarchists have made violent efforts to disrupt many meetings around the world within the last decade. We saw Black Panthers intimidate voters in Philadelphia in 2008. We also know we have an AGotUS who looks the other way and has no problem with turning someone else's cheek. These are things that really happened. The Battle of Chicago in 1968 was real. We all need to be wary of events of the past repeating themselves.

Indeed–and thanks to poor candidates and goofy distractions, one event we'll likely see repeated is the election of Barack Obama as president.
He had better work hard on bringing in new voters then as the majority of the people I know who voted for him are definitely not planning on doing so a second time. From my in-laws, all of my youngest sons college friends who have all graduated and now find themselves working in fast food joints, to all of the families in my neighborhood where the Obama bumper stickers have disappeared…including the black familes! Of course I live in the swing state of VA, where Obama won in 2008, but where the House, Senate and Governors office all just went Republican for the first time in decades.
I've never suggested that he deserves to win–just that he likely will, for the reasons mentioned. After all, the GOP has to come up with someone who can beat him.
Many of those people who say they won't vote for Obama a second time likly will change grit their teeth and change their minds (or simply stay home) when faced with whichever Republican candidate emerges from the current clown troop.

I'm not nearly so concerned about the voting booths, though, and I am about having constant monitoring of voting and transporting votes from the polling places to where they are counted nobody can slip some extras in. I also dislike the electioneering that goes on outside of polling places. There is a distance limit from where they can stand to the polling place, but I've felt badgered by them in the past, and I don't like the prospects of it happening again.
I heard Brandon speak at an event here in the Houston area. He is a fine young man. He started out with a radical element and soon realized that was really not who he was. He also managed to thwart another major and devastating attack that anarchists had planned. The results would have been devastating. He did all this at great personal peril. He knows their tactics. Much like David Horowitz began his life as a Communist and with Communist parents then evolved…this young man evolved.

Most of the Panthers have spent too much time watching reruns of the film, Planet of The Apes. Only a few blacks would be dumb enough to begin attacking white people, and they would live very short lives. Could they cause problems? Sure, but it won't last long. This is kind of hard to really comprehend. Anarchists organized to interrupt the Republican Convention in 2008. What is perhaps more difficult to understand is that Black Panther could leave the group over being trained in violent tactics. This was commonplace in the 60's and 70's. I guess he must be too young to remember it?
It should not be a surprise if there is violence next year. We should all expect it. We should also expect that Eric Holder will do nothing to prevent it. Conservatives across the country should be poll watchers. We need to follow votes all the way from the ballot box to where they are counted. We should even see that ballot boxes are empty before the vote takes place. Nobody should have the opportunity to slip any extra votes into the boxes. Electronic voting also needs to be "untweakable". A conservative should be able to accompany any official votes from the polling place to the count, and be able to watch to ensure no extras are slipped in.
We also need a nation wide voter ID system so every legitimate vote can carry its full weight.

I may be out of line here, but it seems to me that we are arguing over Democrat, and Republicans. Now, I know most of you vote one way or the other, but I`m for smaller, conservative government. I'm curious about one thing. Holder dropped all federal charges against Black Panthers in Pennsylvania who blocked voters during the 2008 election. Why has there been no mention of arrests on state charges? The state has the right to charge them at the state level.

Yes, I thought of Barack Obama as a Marxist after just a short bit of research on him before the 2008 election, and I know that at least one other family member of mine thought that as well.
I suspect that if his writings from university days were revealed that we would see very clearly that he is a Marxist, and I suspect that is the seminal reason that those records are sealed.
He could enrich himself behind the scenes (and I sure that he is doing that as well) to a great degree without the imposition of things like ObamaCare, which are ideological in nature, and go beyond socialism, IMHO.
There will NEVER be a riotous scenario in the near future as there was in the 60s and 70s. We will NOT allow some fringe "pity party group" to tear up and loot our town. I know plenty of people who think like I do and they are all armed and ready to stand by the local pollice or any other law enforcement agency. They are a bunch of losers who will not plan for a future as did many black leaders today. They want to steal, loot, and get something for nothing. First, they should finish school. Then they should go to college and major in something that will lead to a productive career. Millions of black people have done it. They can do it. I saw Brandon Darby speak in DC. He was presented as a formwer liberal who converted to conservatism.
My opinion is that Darby was never a liberal. He was a conservative all along who, for a while, bought the false arguments of the left. How do I know this? In his speech, Darby spoke of a time during his Katrina relief efforts where he fought the entrenched government about their disrespect of the people's private property rights. The concept of private property rights is something only a conservative can understand.
Regardless, Darby is a good man and we are glad that he finally woke up.
Where is DOJ? Where is Eric Holder and the Dept. of Justice question are they ignoring this as they did in the 2008 election, with voter intimidation.

One correction–one of the two had a billy club (though both obviously were idiots). And I though I've seen no evidence that anyone was intimidated, it is possible.
