In a considerable setback for a president eager to ravage the due process rights of the American people, Federal Judge Kathleen Forrest granted a preliminary injunction on Wednesday, striking down those sections of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) of 2012 which sought to provide Barack Obama the power to indefinitely detain citizens without benefit of their 5th Amendment rights.

Signed very quietly into law on New Year’s Eve, the controversial Act has been roundly criticized as unconstitutional by groups on both the political left and right. Of greatest concern was Section 1021, which grants the United States military authority to exercise police powers on American soil. Upon order of the president and at his sole discretion, agents of the military are empowered to detain “until the end of hostilities” anyone the president believes to have “substantially supported” al Qaeda, the Taliban, or “associated forces.”

Judge Forrest concluded that the Section “…failed to ‘pass Constitutional muster’ because its broad language could be used to quash political dissent.” In a statement clearly directed to lawmakers, she added,   ”Section 1021 tries to do too much with too little – it lacks the minimal requirements of definition and scienter that could easily have been added, or could be added, to allow it to pass constitutional muster.” That is, Congress failed—perhaps deliberately– to define “substantial support” of terrorist groups or describe those activities which might be construed as crossing the legal line. And no law may be enforced if those to whom it applies are unable to clearly understand what a violation of that law entails.

Nothing could more plainly reveal the rank corruption and lust for power of the Manchurian Candidate than his involvement in crafting and then misrepresenting the final text and authority of the NDAA. According to Democrat Senator Carl Levin, it was Obama himself who demanded American citizens be included under the detention law and that the President have exclusive authority to invoke the statute. “The language which precluded the application of Section [1021] to American citizens was in the bill that we originally approved…and the administration asked us to remove the language which says that U.S. citizens and lawful residents would not be subject to this section,” said Levin after the NDAA was signed into law.

Yet in his signing statement, Obama wrote that he had in fact forced Congress to “…[revise] provisions that otherwise would have jeopardized the safety, security and liberty of the American people.” So rather than the grand inquisitor, committing to prison any American citizens he chose to view as enemies, Obama claimed to be their champion and savior, protecting them from the excesses of an over-zealous Congress!

“I want to clarify that my Administration will not authorize the indefinite military detention without trial of American citizens,” wrote Obama. “My Administration will interpret section 1021 in a manner that ensures that any detention it authorizes complies with the Constitution, the laws of war, and all other applicable law.” This of course was an outright lie, given the expressed meaning of the statute as Obama himself had demanded it be written. Leave it to Barack Obama to demand he be given absolute authority over the American public, yet claim in the next moment that he will not take advantage of it!

The Department of Justice, which defended the NDAA before Judge Forrest, will undoubtedly appeal her ruling. It is a judicial process Americans must watch closely as the free exercise of our Constitutional rights depends upon the outcome.

In a war of words between the United States and Iran over the regime’s nuclear program, the US ambassador to Israel, Dan Shapiro, announced that the US had a plan ready for possible military strikes on Iran. This threat was made to make the Obama Administration look tough prior to the resumption of talks with the Iranians to try to get them to halt their nuclear weapons program. The United States considers military action as the last resort if diplomatic efforts should fail.

In what some consider an effort to appeal to American Jewish voters, this show of willingness to use force could be seen as pandering to Israel after years of mistreating and criticizing the Jewish State and its leaders. Having our Ambassador to Israel make a public pronouncement promising to bolster an Israeli missile defense system known as the ‘Iron Dome’ during an election year may be seen as a cynical effort to appeal for campaign cash from Jewish donors as well.

Sanctions

The United States, Britain, France, Russia, China, and Germany have been using sanctions and negotiations to stop the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program. To date, these attempts have had little impact. According to UN Inspectors, Syrian forces and the Taliban in Afghanistan are being supplied arms from Iran. These are the only known violations of UN sanctions. Because Iran has been proficient at circumventing sanctions, observers think that sanctions have impacted Iran’s nuclear program but had to admit that no one can confirm she is not still producing enriched weapons grade uranium.

What may really happen

Despite the saber rattling from the current administration, Ian Bremmer, the president of Eurasia Group says, “we’re not going to do anything” [outside of sanctions].  Unless the US and Europe get the Iranians to stop its nuclear weapons program, the West will have no other option but to take military actions. Since weak presidents and poorly imposed sanction have historically not discouraged North Korea from developing her nuclear and missile program, there is no reason to think sanctions will work on Iran either.

Because Barack Obama’s days in office are numbered, Iran’s nuclear threat will be another problem that gets kicked down the road for future generations to deal with.

I remember when I was a teenager and I was constantly borrowing money from my parents because it seemed that my lifestyle had become more than I could afford. I would beg, plead, tell tales of dire misery if I didn’t get the money, lie, say “oh I promise this will be the last time I ask”, and lastly, pout! Washington D.C. reminds me too much of myself as a teenager; only these people in Washington are supposed to be adults, aren’t they? Why is all of this important? My parents finally had to put a stop to the borrowing and teach me some hard lessons about money. The same thing is happening and needs to be done in our government.

We have a budget deficit in the federal government of approximately $ 1.7 TRILLION! Our national debt is somewhere around $16 TRILLION, give or take a few billion, In others words, this spending is UNSUSTAINABLE. The budget deficit is what we are spending OVER what the United States takes in from all sources. We have resorted to borrowing 40 cents of every dollar spent from one of our most dangerous enemies…China. Why do we engage in this adolescent behavior, you may ask? POWER! Our Congresspeople, both Representatives and Senators, are more interested in getting re-elected than in managing YOUR money in a responsible way. Your money? Yes, because the government is supposed to live only on what the people’s taxes will pay for.

By law, we have what is called a “debt ceiling,” which is the maximum amount of money the government can spend before it either has to cut spending to keep us with our revenue limits, or Congress must vote to raise that ceiling. Now here is where the fun begins. Democrats will be screaming, if the debt limit isn’t raised again, that senior citizens, the disabled, the poor, single moms, minorities, endangered species, and on and on, are all going to become victims without that extra money to throw at them. The Republicans are going to stand their ground (at least for an hour or two) and demand that the Democrats allow bloated government programs and agencies to be dismantled, discontinued, or reformed (God forbid). The threats, crying, pleading, horror stories, and lastly, the pouting will commence from both sides. Yes, there are BIG spenders in the Republican Party too!

You can bet that minority groups’ favorite giveaways will be the focus of the fiscally irresponsible demagogues wailing and doomsaying to all that will listen. The reason? Too much has been promised to too many people for too long. Those programs that have outrun their funding are in reality going to die sooner or later because their just isn’t enough money in this WORLD to pay for them, and Congress knows it! Some tough choices have to be made this time around by Congress because you don’t solve anything by throwing good money after bad, money this country no longer has. When do the adults take over and stop asking for money to throw away and start finding HARD solutions to a problem that could destroy our economy?

Rumor has it that when Dr. Ron Paul was first approached and was asked to run for President in the 2008 election cycle, he said he didn’t want to be President. He was told that he couldn’t win anyway, and with that, he decided to run. He could get his ideas out and educate the public on the evils of the Federal Reserve banking system and how to change it. The idea of Liberty and self responsibility could be spread once again across this great land. Did the rumor have any basis in fact? I do not know, but his incredible success in the 2008 election cycle helped to get the conversation about the Fed started, and it continues today. Now we know, and we can’t “unknow” it.

It has also been said that anyone who wants to be the President of the United States of America is automatically unqualified. I agree. Of the 300 million+ people in this land, there are less than 2 dozen who aspire to the the office of President of the United States of America. When a new casino opens in Las Vegas, Nevada, there are thousands of applicants for the few card dealing jobs available. The lines of applicants are long for the jobs of maids, groundskeepers, janitors, and secretaries, but the job of President of the United States of America has few applicants.

Anyone who will spend other people’s money to tell us how great he or she is should be put in a small room with padded walls and windows that can’t be reached. The one who shouts the loudest of how great he or she is should be put under guard and watched 24/7. The pandering fool currently being provided free room and board at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D. C. has been the loudest narcissist here of late. Megalomania is a serious psychological problem. Many with that disease are locked up and force-fed drugs. But more than 500 of them are living and working in that swamp – and breathing the swamp gases – of Washington, District of Criminals. Who in their right mind would want to be the leader of such a motley gathering of men and women? And who in their right mind would want to be part of that crew?

Aaron Russo’s movie America: Freedom to Fascism, informed us of the history of the evildoers of the last century and their plans of a One World Government. Edward Griffin’s book The Creature from Jekyl Island informed us of the people involved and how the Federal Reserve banking system came about. Now we know, and we can’t “unknow” it. For most of the American people, the Fed is now in their lexicon. It cost tens of millions of little green pieces of paper, and perhaps billions of words spewed from keyboards and mouths, but still only a small percentage of the dollars and words spent on hiding the destruction done to the greatest country in the known history of the human race. To take over and control the education system in order to instill in the millions of young minds that the government is all powerful, and God should not be allowed in our lives, was not cheap nor was it easy. That nefarious group of scoundrels that brought us the Federal Reserve also gave us the less-than-great education system with which we punish our children. That is not to take away from the millions of men and women who taught, because they too are a product of the same system.

When Congressman Ron Paul announced that he would not campaign during the remainder of the primary season but asked that his supporters continue getting delegates that would support him at the convention in Tampa, many of his supporters, myself among them, were angry and dismayed. Nasty things were said and written. After a day or so, though, the heat went down, and cooler thoughts were thought.

Dr. Paul actually promotes the idea of divesting the office of the President of much of the power amassed in that office. While all the rest of the field are braying about what they will be doing for us if we give them all of our money and our firstborn, if we are allowed to have a firstborn, Dr. Paul talks of self-responsibility and self-regulation. Freedom, what a novel idea! It has only been around since man.

Dr. Paul promotes peace, the dream of man since man could dream. Dr. Paul promotes the idea that we should own ourselves and our property. Marx, Hitler, Clinton, Bush, Romney, and the fool in the White House, along with Mao, Castro, and Chavez, think otherwise.

If the chief narcissist is re-elected, or if the hairdo from Massachusetts is elected, the dark ages loom before us as the tsunami loomed over Japan.

We must send as many delegates for Dr. Ron Paul as possible to Tampa, Florida. He can win the nomination, and even a desultory campaign can put him in the White House. I believe he would serve, though reluctantly, and do a much better job than any in the last 100 years.

George Washington refused to accept the title of King. He served well and was relieved to be out of the office. Thomas Jefferson barely campaigned for his second term as President. They were good men and true. The good doctor, Congressman Ron Paul, is of that caliber.

I got back home yesterday evening just after 6 pm after a busy day at work from the Western Center for Journalism. Usually, the first thing I do when I get home is to turn on my computer and check my personal e-mail (I subscribe to a lot of libertarian/conservative website newsletters/alerts.)

Yahoo is my home page. Sure enough, when the page comes up, the top story is titled: “Did 1991 Mistake Spark ‘Birther’ Issue?” I was somewhat surprised that the media even covered it today, yet at the same time I was not surprised as it shows how far the liberal media will go to protect their beloved Barack Hussein Obama.

I couldn’t help but crack up when I saw their latest excuse for Obama’s eligibility to be president: they said that Obama’s former literacy agency, Acton & Dystel, “misidentified” Kenya as his birthplace.

Miriam Goderich edited the text of the bio; she is now a partner at the Dystel & Goderich agency, which lists Obama as one of its current clients.

“This was nothing more than a fact checking error by me–an agency assistant at the time,” Goderich wrote in an emailed statement to Yahoo News. “There was never any information given to us by Obama in any of his correspondence or other communications suggesting in any way that he was born in Kenya and not Hawaii. I hope you can communicate to your readers that this was a simple mistake and nothing more.”

I have two questions:

1. The Yahoo article was written approximately four hours after the Breitbart.com article was published. How could Ms. Goderich have possibly prepared her statement, much less heard about Breitbart’s piece so quickly, unless someone (say from Obama’s regime, I mean administration) threatened her or her agency?

2. How could she possibly become president of a literary agency if she displayed such enormous incompetence early in her career? Come on!!! It just doesn’t add up.

While reading the entire blog post, one who has carefully followed ForgeryGate from the beginning will immediately see how the author (Dylan Stableford) and Ms. Goderich are full of it. I challenge you to check out the link to the Yahoo story earlier in this post and NOT feel this way.

As an investigative journalist in the making, I went to the “About Us” page on this literary agency’s website and sent a separate e-mail to each of the nine head staff members whose e-mail addresses were provided, asking for a comment on this groundbreaking story. I did not hear from a single one of them. Of course, Ms. Goderich goes and releases a “statement” to Yahoo News. What, were they all hiding underneath their desks, scared of what Obama would do to them should they open their mouth?

At the end of the day, the response by the mainstream media in this manner is a good thing, as I believe it shows that they are getting desperate to hide the gruesome truth that the current occupant of the White House is a complete fraud. They know that there is only so much time left until the whole world knows about the true Barack Hussein Obama.
