Travels With Barry Obama In 1981

The current rage about Barack Obama’s hidden past is over his college transcripts: specifically, how a mediocre student, self-professed to be a pot-smoking, cocaine snorting, jobless free spirit during his Occidental days transferred to and paid for an Ivy League college—Columbia University.

But I think an equally salient question is how Obama paid for his round-the-world trip to Indonesia and Pakistan in the summer of 1981, before he made his way to New York to begin his term at Columbia. Did his wealthy Pakistani friends Wahid Hamid and Mohammed Hasan Chandoo foot the bill? Was Obama dealing drugs to finance the trip? We don’t know because Obama has never addressed the question. It is a question that should be answered by Obama now. Today.

Florida Court Sets Hearing Date For Obama’s Eligibility!

This is breaking news. Mark your calendars for June 18!

Does This Make Cents, Mr. Obama?

Obamas Trillion Dollar Toybox Debt Increase SC Does this Make Cents, Mr. Obama?

Democrats have been echoing over and over again that the Republicans refuse to compromise, bringing the government to a standstill. The dire warnings are going out about a catastrophic tax hike if the Republicans refuse to compromise….yada, yada, yada! The debt ceiling drama of last year was supposed to carry the government through the election…so what happened? Republicans are supposed to compromise, but on what? The Senate Democrats have not presented a budget for over three years, and the two budgets that Obama submitted were both rejected in the Democrat-controlled Senate UNANIMOUSLY! So what is there in writing to debate and compromise over?

The need for a new debt ceiling approval means that SOMEBODY overspent a lot quicker than was anticipated; imagine that! Both parties agree, or at least the sane ones do, that we are broke! We have to borrow 40 cents of every dollar that we now spend from China? Are those people in Washington D.C. NUTS? Why would you borrow money from someone who is your enemy? If you want to drink their kool-aid and believe that China is not our enemy, then why is China pouring billions of dollars modernizing their military and building a blue water navy? They manipulate their currency to gain an advantage in trade with us and send us TOXIC products. I think there may still be a dozen or so stories still in some news archives somewhere that will back that statement up.

Obama and his followers think it’s alright to waste BILIIONS of taxpayer money on loser “green energy” companies and subsidizing industries that don’t need subsidies. The politicos in Washington keep making promises with their mouths that their butts and our treasury can’t cash. Government agencies like GSA and TSA are blatantly wasting our money…..Vegas, anyone? Warehouses full of brand new UNUSED equipment (TSA)? How many federal employees owe back taxes? Why don’t we collect those before going after the “rich”? After all, we must all pay our fair share!

Why do the members of Congress keep getting raises when they are already making about $175,000 a year plus benefits? Why don’t they take a cut in pay before we go after the rich? Why doesn’t the federal government stop using the Social Security Trust Fund as their piggy bank and learn how to spend ONLY what they take in? Gosh, what a novel idea! Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid thinks it okay for illegal aliens to rip off the American taxpayer ( to the tune of $4.2 BILLION) rather than simply hold a vote, which I’m sure would pass, especially in an election year, to close that tax loophole. Let’s make earmarks REALLY go away instead of this political double speak that Washington gives us.

My point is this. I am not rich, not even upper middle class, but I am so tired of hearing the Democrats keep repeating their stupid mantra, “tax the rich’! Most of the people in Congress seem to be a lot better off than the average American, and if you would look closely at any tax increases they do pass, I’m willing to bet that they exempt themselves from those same taxes. Obama keeps saying he wants a “balanced ” approach to fixing the deficit; in Washington doublespeak, it means that whatever you cut in spending, I want it replaced with new taxes. How do you reduce anything if you keep the level of spending the same or gradually keep raising it? Obama’s deficit for last year was $1.5 TRILLION! Money we do not have!

The Republicans keep offering very viable spending plans and budgets; yet Harry Reid won’t even allow them out on the Senate floor for discussion. Maybe it’s because if you were allowed to see and hear what the Democrats (PROGRESSIVES) are actually doing, you might change your mind about who to vote for. Let me put it to you this way: if you went to your bank and found out that the officers of that bank had gotten together to use your money to enrich the lives of their buddies and family, would you be upset? What if they told you that because they had shorted the bank that they were going to have to lower the interest on all your investments….would you be even more upset?

We don’t have a do-nothing Congress; we merely have an uncompromising President and a do-nothing, protect-his-party’s-agenda-at-all-costs Senate Leader. Taxing the rich isn’t going to solve anything. Obama wants everyone to pay their fair share? Then let’s get the 47% of the American taxpayers who pay NOTHING to pay at least a token amount of taxes for the services that they too use. Isn’t THAT fair, Mr. Obama?

Lastly, lets take a real good look at federal agencies and departments, programs, and services that have outlived their usefulness. Let’s really get a handle on government wasting taxpayer dollars. Obviously, if Congress allows illegals aliens to steal $4.2 BILLION a year from the American taxpayer, then obviously there are major problems to be solved BEFORE we demand that the rich pony up more money for Washington to throw away. The rich are giving their fair share, Mr. Obama, but you and your cohorts are SPENDING way more than your fair share. It needs to stop.

The OWS Perspective On Economics

Obamanomics SC The OWS Perspective on Economics

To observe May Day (May 1st), Sean Hannity of the Fox News Channel invited as a guest on his show Harrison Schultz of the Occupy Wall Street (OWS) movement to explain his organization’s objectives and motives. According to his LinkedIn profile, the 29 year old Schultz is a General Co-Organizer of the OWS and self-described “Anarchist.” Needless to say, the interview with Hannity, the polar opposite of Shultz politically, was rugged. Shultz argued, “The problem here is capitalism. That’s what needs to change. That’s what is failing all of these people.”

During the interview (video here), he went on to say that he believes the government and big companies should provide the citizens free education, free health care, free dental care, free day care, free housing, and free transportation. “The government and corporations should get off our backs, stop enslaving us through debt, …”

Schultz’ comments on capitalism provide some rare insight into how the OWS movement perceives business and economics in general. Let’s consider the impact of each of Shultz’ proposed freebies:

In terms of EDUCATION, the average salary for a public school teacher is approximately $50.4K, High School teachers are $54.3K, and college professors average $80K to $120K depending on their specialty. This of course does not include school administrators, bus drivers, and maintenance personnel, nor construction costs for facilities, all of which has to be paid by someone (either the taxpayer, the consumer, or private benefactors.)

For HEALTH CARE, the average salary for a nurse is $71.7K, and a doctor is $174.9K. This too does not include office staff, medical technicians, or the cost of facilities, equipment, and research. Likewise, this has to be paid by someone, either the taxpayer, the consumer, private benefactors, or insurance companies.  On average, the annual health insurance premium for a single person is $2.9K and $6.3K for a family.

For DENTAL CARE, the average salary for a dentist is $141.7K and $61.7K for a dental hygenist. This too does not include the costs for facilities, equipment, and support staff.

DAY CARE teachers average a salary of $27.8K and, of course, need facilities and equipment. Furthermore, the national average cost for full-time day care is $611 a month.

As to HOUSING, single apartments range from $127-$360/month on the average; it costs $616-$823/month for family apartments. This does not include utilities ranging from $60-$190/month. Then there is the matter of the salaries of the construction workers, architects, planners, engineers, managers, and inspectors required to build the facilities, not to mention the materials needed for construction.

CNN recently reported that spending on public TRANSPORTATION totals roughly $50 billion a year and noted that 75% of those dollars find their way to private companies in the form of construction contracts, fuel purchases, and other expenditures.

As an aside, the average cost for a bus is $424.8K, a railroad car averages $1.9M/car, and locomotives average $2.4M each. Finally, the average cost for compact automobile ranges from $10K-$17K.

This is how business works. If you perform a service, you expect to be compensated accordingly. If you build a product, you have to market it. All work involves competition and risk. The person who markets and delivers a better product or service at a more cost-effective price will succeed while others fail. It also means nobody is irreplaceable; if you stumble and fall, someone will surely take your place. This is capitalism, and if it sounds remarkably like Darwin’s theory of evolution whereby the strong survive and the species evolves, it is.

If we did everything Shultz suggests, the country would go broke at warp speed. There is a big difference between lending a hand or providing a safety net and giving everything away. People expect to be paid for services they render. Perhaps the OWS movement would want all of the people in the professions listed herein to waive their salaries and perform their services on a gratis basis. Unfortunately, this will not support their living requirements. The OWS crowds have many complaints but no solutions other than Socialism, which would do nothing but increase our debt. I do not believe they grasp the significance of debt as a concept. You do not spend what you cannot afford, for at some point your creditors will come knocking at your door demanding payment. You tighten your belt when times are lean, and you loosen it when you can afford to do so.

We have somehow developed a generation of people who sincerely believe that they are entitled to everything as opposed to earning it, which is why they do not comprehend the concept of austerity. They want it all, they want it now, and they sincerely believe they deserve it. After all, if others can have nice possessions, why shouldn’t they? Envy has turned to rage. This is why the thought of earning and paying your own way is a foreign concept, not just to OWS, but to the Socialist Europeans as well.

To illustrate the point, following the Fox interview, it was reported Hannity offered Shultz a job which he refused as he wouldn’t settle for anything less than a starting salary of $80K. I wish I could have started at $80K. Don’t we all? You have to walk before you can run. It’s called “paying your dues.” Unfortunately, we are saddled with a country of Whizz Kids who believe they should start at the top. I don’t know where they were imbued with such genius, or perhaps it is nothing more than naive stupidity.

The one harsh reality the people do not want to recognize is that you are entitled to nothing. If you want something, you are going to have to go out and earn it. An education is not a right; it is a privilege. So is health care, dental care, housing, and transportation. Nothing is free. Forget what the promotion says; people do not offer something without wanting something in return. In the United States, the only thing you are entitled to is the freedom to try and hopefully succeed, but there is also the distinct possibility you might fail, a concept that frightens the laziest of people.

There is one last thing you are not entitled to, a helping hand. But if one is extended, you should definitely thank God and the person or institution offering it, but do not be so naive as to believe it is a right or free.

Keep the Faith!

Report: GOP Will End Fast And Furious Investigation

John Boehner 3 SC Report: GOP will end Fast and Furious investigation

“We want to let them know that there is a theological responsibility (emphasis added) to participate in the political process…” said House Congressional Black Caucus chair, Emanuel Cleaver of a meeting with hundreds of black Pastors representing various denominations in the U.S. Speaking to MSNBC, the congressman added “…we’re going to have the IRS administrator there, we’re going to have the Attorney General Eric Holder there, we’re going to have the lawyers’ organization from around the country, the ACLU — all giving Ministers guidance about what they can and cannot do.”

Of course, Cleaver was referring to “guidance” in the ways churches can participate in the 2012 election without violating IRS rules concerning their tax exempt status.  Naturally, this has always been of GREAT concern to black pastors, especially nowadays given the sterling record of unbiased enforcement built by the scrupulously law-abiding Attorney General.

Yet even while absorbed with their tax code responsibilities, the attending Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights found time to address a letter to House Speaker John Boehner concerning the harsh treatment of Attorney General Holder by some of the Speaker’s fellow Republicans.  Consisting of labor unions, homosexual groups, black ministers, the NAACP, and even an Arab anti-discrimination organization, the Conference believes citing Holder with contempt for his disregard of House subpoenas in the Fast and Furious affair is “unwarranted.” In fact, it’s a downright “partisan attempt to discredit the Attorney General,” a heinous example of “accusatory vitriol and malignant suspicion” and a “rush to judgment intended to create a stain on the office of the Attorney General.”

But according to the man who broke the “Gunwalker” story a year and a half ago, threatening letters to Speaker Boehner might no longer be necessary. Sources in Washington, DC have told blogger and citizen reporter Mike Vanderboegh that Republican leaders have already decided to close down the Fast and Furious investigation and halt contempt proceedings against Eric Holder, because “they (the GOP leadership) don’t think that they will suffer for [that] failure to follow through. They’re scared of Holder’s race card. . . they’re scared of Trayvon. They think if they let Issa fail, that it will only be a story in the blogosphere for a day . . . that they can weather it. . . .” Unfortunately, Vanderboegh makes it clear that he trusts the word of these sources “implicitly.”

In short, John Boehner and other Republican big wigs are more afraid of the race card and its steady play by the Obama-owned national media than of the bitter –yet presumably brief—disappointment of conservatives, disgusted because the GOP has once again opted for the cowardly betrayal of justice and of the Party base.

If Vanderboegh’s sources are correct, hundreds of innocent people will have died, Brian Terry and Jaime Zapata will have been shot to death, the Obama Regime will have launched a brutal and deadly assault on the 2nd Amendment, and yet all will be forgiven and forgotten in the name of political expedience.

Vanderboegh was certainly right about Boehner’s work to delay Representative Darrell Issa’s contempt proceedings against Holder. We should all hope his sources have gotten this one wrong.

Obama Defies NDAA Ruling

Barack Obama speech hand 2 SC Obama Defies NDAA Ruling

When 4th District Court Judge Katherine Forrest ruled the NDAA unconstitutional, there was wide rejoicing across the internet. Posts from prominent civil liberties activists like journalist David Seaman rang out with “VIICCTOOORRYY!” A Russia Today newscast, titled the ruling “NDAA Shot Down, But Threats Remain”, seemed to imply that the fight was over, or “on hold.” But it was only just beginning.

Do you remember, from your high school or college government courses, when they talked about the court having “neither the power of the sword nor the purse?” That means the High Courts of the United States cannot force the government to accept their ruling. They can heavily imply it, but they have no power to force government compliance. When the Supreme Court ruled against the government in Worcester v. Georgia, President Andrew Jackson is famous for having responded: “[Justice] John Marshall has made his decision, now let him enforce it.”

The tyrannical U.S. Government has taken the exact same tack with the ruling against them on the NDAA. But first, let’s quickly recap exactly how weak the government case in favor of the NDAA actually was. In Hedges v. Obama, the government routinely avoided the judge’s questions and demands:

The Court: “When we are talking about cases which have used the phrase ‘substantially supported’ and said that that is a valid criterion under the AUMF or of the legislation, that’s not the same thing as saying that . . . any court has found, one way or the other, that ‘substantially supported’ has an understandable meaning to an ordinary citizen?”

The Government: “It’s true that the courts have not expressly ruled that, that’s right.”

The Court: Give me an example. Tell me what it means to substantially support associated forces.

Government: I’m not in a position to give specific examples.

The Court: Give me one.

Government: I’m not in a position to give one specific example.

Later…

The Court: “Assume you were just an American citizen and you’re reading the statute and you wanted to make sure you do not run afoul of it because you are a diligent U.S. citizen wanting to stay on the right side of §1021, and you read the phrase ‘directly supported’. What does that mean to you?”

Government: Again, it has to be taken in the context of armed conflict informed by the laws of war.

Court: That’s fine. Tell me what that means?

The Government: “I cannot offer a specific example. I don’t have a specific example.”

After seeing the ridiculous responses the government had given her, and finding that even the government could not define those terms, Judge Katherine Forrest issued her ruling against the NDAA, stating:

“This measure has a chilling impact on first amendment rights.”

She then granted her temporary injunction:

“As set forth above, this Court has found that plaintiffs have shown a likelihood of success on the merits regarding their constitutional claim and it therefore has a responsibility to insure that the public’s constitutional rights are protected.

Accordingly, this Court finds that the public interest is best served by the issuance of the preliminary relief recited herein.”

This should be the end of it. This landmark case should be a victory for Americans, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. The judge clearly states “the public’s constitutional rights” and “the public interest.” Hey, I’m a part of the public, so I’m protected now!

Not so fast. Our tyrannical government, in one sentence, has chosen to defy a ruling by a federal judge.

“The government construes this Court’s Order as applying only as to the named plaintiffs in this suit.”

Just when you want to believe that there are good people in the highest levels of our federal government, statements like this bring you back to reality. The government continued:

“Although the Order fails to comply with Fed. R. Civ. P. 58, and the concluding paragraph of the Order is not, on its face, clear as to whom the injunction benefits, the government reads it in light of the well-established principle that courts “neither want nor need to provide relief to nonparties when a narrower remedy will fully protect the litigants”

Excuse me? Let’s very quickly compare Federal District Court Judge Katherine Forrest’s Order…:

“Accordingly, this Court finds that the public interest is best served by the issuance of the preliminary relief recited herein”

…with the government’s response:

“The government construes this Court’s Order as applying only as to the named plaintiffs in this suit.”

The Judge said her order was to protect the public interest. No informed human being could read it otherwise. Yet, according to the government, they can still detain you because you are not a named plaintiff. Our government is so entwined in a power grab that they will stop at nothing, even twisting court orders, to strip us of our Constitutional rights.

The government defied the court, the Constitution, and our Founding Fathers. It stops here.

There is no more time for procrastination, for hoping the government will fix itself. There is no more time to rely on the courts. There is no time to rely on Congress. The time to act is now.

It is now up to “We the People” to take down this tyranny.
