Holder’s Lies Exposed By DOJ Document Leak

Eric Holder 10 SC Holder’s lies exposed by DOJ document leak

Wiretap applications obtained by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform prove Attorney General Eric Holder and Assistant AG Lanny Breuer lied to Committee members when they claimed DOJ personnel knew nothing of the tactics used by the ATF during Operation Fast And Furious.

Wiretap applications are forms that must be filled out and submitted to a judge, asking permission to perform a wiretap. As these requests may only be made if all other information-gathering techniques have been tried and found wanting, the applications are completed in extraordinary detail, listing all prior methods employed by law enforcement to gather existing evidence. In short, the entire history of the efforts put forth by law enforcement during a particular case or investigation are presented in writing to the court.

According to Committee chair Darrell Issa, six wiretap applications are now in Committee possession, all presented to the court between March and June of 2010 and all having been approved by Department of Justice officials. In fact, “each application included a memorandum from Assistant Attorney General Lanny A. Breuer to Paul M. O’Brien, Office of Enforcement Operations, authorizing the wiretap applications on behalf of the Attorney General.” “The memoranda from Breuer are marked specifically for the attention of Emory Hurley, the lead prosecutor for Operation Fast and Furious.”

Why is this so significant? As Congressman Issa wrote to Eric Holder on June 5th, “Throughout the course of the congressional investigation … the Department (DOJ) has consistently denied that any senior officials were provided information about the tactics used in Operation Fast and Furious. The wiretap applications obtained by the Committee show such statements made by senior Department officials regarding the wiretaps to be false and misleading.”

That is, DOJ higher-ups including Lanny Breuer obviously had to know of the tactics employed by the ATF during the Operation as they were clearly spelled out in the applications the DOJ-specifically Lanny Breuer-signed off on!

On September 7th, 2011, Holder stated before Issa’s Committee, “The notion that …this thing (Fast and Furious) reaches into the upper levels of the Justice Department is something that…I don’t think is supported by the facts.”  One month later, in a letter to the Committees investigating the Operation, Holder wrote, “I now understand some senior officials within the Department were aware at the time that there was an operation called Fast and Furious although they were not advised of the unacceptable operational tactics being used in it.”

Issa continues the assault on Holder with the Attorney General’s testimony of September 8th. Holder said:

I don’t think the wiretap applications—I’ve not seen—I’ve not seen them. But I don’t know—I don’t have any information that indicates that those wiretap applications had anything in them that talked about the tactics that have made this such a bone of contention…I’d be surprised if the tactics themselves about gun walking were actually contained in those—in those applications. I have not seen them, but I would be surprised [if] that were the case.

Then on February 2nd of this year, Holder claimed:

I think, first off, there is no indication that Mr. Breuer or my former deputy were aware of the tactics that were employed in this matter until everybody I think became aware of them, which is like January, February of last year. The information—I’m not at this point aware that any of those tactics were contained in any of the wiretap applications.

Obviously, the DOJ had no intention of providing Congress with any of these applications or the information they contained. In fact, the applications had been sealed by the Department for some time. It is likely the Committee was leaked the applications by the same source who has provided the House with other withheld, DOJ documents.

But, however he obtained them, Issa has devastating evidence proving outright perjury on the parts of Lanny Breuer and Eric Holder. The question is, as it has been for months, whether the Republican leadership has the courage to use it.

Where is the contempt citation Mr. Boehner?

Proof Obama Member Of Socialist New Party

In 2008, after the Democratic Party crowned Obama savior of the country and put Hillary Clinton on the back burner to simmer, a little-known columnist named Stanley Kurtz began making some startling claims about Obama’s past.

That he had extensive associations with ACORN. That he had been connected with ACORN’s front group, the Socialist New Party in 1996. That he served on Leftist foundations with a man who had bragged about being a domestic terrorist in the 1960s, one Bill Ayers.

Of course in 2008, most of us had never heard of ACORN. Most of us had never heard of Bill Ayers. Most of us knew that socialism had been tried and had failed many times and figured no one in their right mind would try to foist this discredited political system on America.

Or so we thought.

Obama, of course, as he does with all his enemies, began an ad hominem attack on Kurtz, using his “Fight the Smears” website to call Kurtz a “right wing hatchet man and conspiracy theorist,” and denied any connection to the New Party,  ACORN, or Ayers (we all remember the “just a guy in my neighborhood” comment).  Factcheck.org checked Obama’s facts, Media Matters said everything that matters, the mainstream media went on their merry way,  and Stanley Kurtz disappeared.

Or so Obama thought.

Kurtz went on to write Radical-in-Chief, detailing Obama’s extensive ties to the New Party,  ACORN,  Ayers,  and a host of other radicals and radical groups, but the mainstream media, again, wasn’t interested.

At least until now.

It has become increasingly clear to the public, the Republican Establishment, and more and more to the mainstream media, that Obama has been trying to move the country towards European democratic socialism—the same democratic socialism that the New Party was trying to push in 1996.

Not only was Obama associated with a group in 1996 that pushed democratic socialism, but Obama is trying to push this same failed ideology and policies on us today.

Of course, the only problem with democratic socialism is that it is the same system of government that the European countries whose economies are currently imploding operate on:  a huge welfare state; universal healthcare; huge expenditures on “infrastructure”  (Obama likes to call it “Stimulus”);  “Green” energy;  all-powerful unions, etc., etc.

These European democratic socialist governments also tend to make a lot of noise about what they’re going to do about their economies imploding, making demands for bailouts, refusal of “austerity,” etc., but are basically powerless to determine their own destiny in the face of edicts from the European Union—i.e., they have lost their sovereignty.

And America is saying, “Uh, we really don’t want our economy to collapse, Mr. Obama. Capitalism isn’t perfect, but it’s better than a system that is collapsing the economies of one country after another.  And we don’t particularly want to give up our sovereignty to the UN or some other world body.  We like our country just fine. You can keep your ‘fundamental transformation,’ thank you very much.”

And so America is waking up.

Conservatives are on fire.

The Tea Party that Democrats said was dead and Obama insulted as “Tea Baggers” had a huge impact on the Scott Walker win: we beat the union thugs at their own game, putting boots on the ground, manning phones, and stuffing money into Walker’s coffers.

And we had our secret weapon: the truth. The truth that unsustainable spending, unsustainable pensions, healthcare, and entitlements is, well, unsustainable.

Oh, and by the way, Kurtz has uncovered a document that proves Obama was not only a member of the New Party in 1996, but signed a “Candidate Contract” promising to publicly support and associate with the New Party while in office.

Who would have guessed?

The Nation’s Top “Progressives” … And Socialists And Communists

Flag of the Soviet Union5499 The Nation’s Top “Progressives” … and Socialists and Communists

Editor’s note: A longer version of this article first appeared at American Spectator.

The left-leaning magazine The Nation has published a list of what it deems America’s all-time, most influential progressives. The list, which you can review for yourself, is very revealing.

For starters, it’s fascinating that The Nation leads with Eugene Debs at number 1. Debs was a socialist. It was 100 years ago this year, in 1912, that Debs ran for president on the Socialist Party ticket.

Today’s progressives get annoyed if you call them socialists. Well, why is a pure socialist the no. 1 “progressive” on The Nation’s list?

Of course, progressives really get annoyed if you suggest they bear any sympathies to communism. That being the case, two other “progressives” on The Nation’s list are quite intriguing: Paul Robeson and I. F. Stone.

Paul Robeson was a proud recipient of the “Stalin Prize.” Even the New York Times concedes Robeson was “an outspoken admirer of the Soviet Union.” When Robeson in 1934 returned from his initial pilgrimage to the Motherland, the Daily Worker thrust a microphone in his face. The Daily Worker rushed its interview into print, running it in the January 15, 1935 issue under the headline, “‘I Am at Home,’ Says Robeson At Reception in Soviet Union.”

The Bolsheviks, explained Robeson, were new men. He was bowled over by the “feeling of safety and abundance and freedom” he found “wherever I turn.” He discovered sheer equality under Joseph Stalin.

When asked about Stalin’s purges, Robeson retorted: “From what I have already seen of the workings of the Soviet Government, I can only say that anybody who lifts his hand against it ought to be shot!”

Yes, Robeson was deadly serious.

Robeson told the Daily Worker that he felt a “kinship” with the USSR. So much so that he moved his family there.

He also joined Communist Party USA. In May 1998, the centennial of Robeson’s birth, longtime CPUSA head Gus Hall hailed Robeson as a man of communist “conviction,” who “never forgot he was a communist.”

None of this is mentioned in The Nation’s profile, which blasts anyone who dared consider Robeson a communist. Instead, The Nation insists that Comrade Paul was a “progressive.”

And that brings me to I. F. Stone.

Stone is listed at number 26 on The Nation’s list. Stone has been hailed by liberals for decades as the literal “conscience” of journalism—a hero of impeccable honesty. In fact, we now know that Stone, at one time, was a paid Soviet agent.

In their latest Yale University Press work, historians John Earl Haynes, Harvey Klehr, and Alexander Vassiliev conclude that Stone (from 1936-39) was a “Soviet spy.” Also closely studying Stone’s case is Herb Romerstein. In The Venona Secrets, Romerstein likewise concluded that “Stone was indeed a Soviet agent.” One of the stronger confirmations from the Soviet side is retired KGB general Oleg Kalugin, who reported: “He [Stone] was a KGB agent since 1938. His code name was ‘Blin.’ When I resumed relations with him in 1966, it was on Moscow’s instructions. Stone was a devoted communist.”

None of this appears at Stone’s “progressive” profile at The Nation.

And speaking of progressives with communist sympathies, also on The Nation’s list is Margaret Sanger. The Planned Parenthood matron sojourned to Stalin’s Potemkin villages in 1934. “[W]e could well take example from Russia,” Sanger advised Americans upon her return, “where birth control instruction is part of the regular welfare service of the government.”

The Planned Parenthood founder was stunned by the explosion in abortions once legalized by the Bolsheviks. No fear, though. Sanger offered this confident prediction: “All the [Bolshevik] officials with whom I discussed the matter stated that as soon as the economic and social plans of Soviet Russia are realized, neither abortions nor contraception will be necessary or desired. A functioning Communistic society will assure the happiness of every child, and will assume the full responsibility for its welfare and education.”

This was pure progressive utopianism, an absolute faith in central planners.

Overall, the socialists, communists, and Soviet sympathizers on The Nation’s list are dizzying: Upton Sinclair, Henry Wallace, W. E. B. DuBois, Norman Thomas, Lincoln Steffens, Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Tom Hayden, Barbara Ehrenreich, and John Dewey—founding father of American public education.

Thus, I’m compelled to ask: Is this “progressivism?” Is progressivism synonymous with liberalism, or is it much further to left, closer to communism?

I plead with progressives: This is your ideology … Could you better define it, if that’s possible? Or is the definition of progressivism always progressing? Actually, it is always progressing; that’s precisely the problem with this train-wreck of an ever-elusive ideology. The Nation’s list of leading American “progressives” is truly a teachable moment.

Proof Holder Lied Under Oath

Attorney General Eric Holder had the audacity to claim during congressional testimony on June 7, 2012 that internal Justice Department emails that contain the phrase “Fast and Furious” do not actually refer to the controversial gun-walking operation Fast and Furious. This guy needs to be impeached immediately.

Why Environmentalists Are Wrong About Nuclear Power

Nuclear Power SC2 Why Environmentalists Are Wrong About Nuclear Power

It’s an amazing irony that the only technology that could have any chance of cutting CO2 emissions from the generation of electricity 80% by 2050 is being ostracized by environmentalists.

One of their reasons for opposing nuclear power is fear of radiation, even tiny doses. Opponents of nuclear power chant remember “Chernobyl” and “Three Mile Island” whenever the subject comes up.

The Union of Concerned Scientists and National Resources Defense Council, among others, are ardently opposed to nuclear power, but simultaneously champion climate change and their belief that CO2 emissions must be cut in the United States 80% by 2050.

As shown in the series on CO2 Fool’s Errand these past few weeks, it’s virtually impossible to cut CO2 emissions 80% without nuclear power.

A rational understanding of radiation would help alleviate people’s fear of radiation that’s being exploited by the organizations opposed to nuclear power.

To this end, a new book Radiation and Reason, by Wade Allison, delves into why radiation should be respected, but not feared.

My article Radiation Fears addressed the issue, including the effects of Chernobyl.

The Linear No Threshold (LNT) hypothesis asserts that radiation is dangerous at any level, and this has been the guiding principle behind the public’s understanding of radiation for the past seventy years.

Professor Wade Allison is a Fellow of Keble College and Emeritus Professor of Physics at the University of Oxford and his new book examines why, based on today’s knowledge, LNT is wrong.

He asks, with birds nesting unaffected in the Chernobyl sarcophagus and animals running around unscathed in the area around Chernobyl, “is there something wrong with the accepted orthodox view of the dangers of radiation to life?”

He goes on to examine the LNT approach to radiation.

The book also describes in considerable clarity, some of the basic principles surrounding radiation, including an overview of the entire radiation spectrum from AM radio to gamma rays. He explains why nuclear power is inherently safe, and made even safer with the latest designs that can shut down without fear of overheating the core.

By providing this overview, Professor Wade establishes a scientific basis for his comments that the reader can follow.

A key message from this book, and from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), is that people need to be told the truth about radiation.

The IAEA said: “The Chernobyl accident resulted in many people being traumatized by the rapid relocation, the breakdown in social contacts, fear and anxiety [about the unknown].”

The lack of communications and the lack of knowledge among the people about radiation created fear – nameless and unreasonable fear.

The Fukushima accident has reignited fear among people about radiation. When a tuna fish off the coast of California was found to have low levels of radiation, it was headlined by the media. Those opposing nuclear power have used Fukushima to exploit people’s fear about radiation.

Nature recently reported on studies by the United Nations Scientific Committee on the Effects of Atomic Radiation (UNSCEAR) and by the World Health Organization (WHO) on the Fukushima accident. Both conclude that “few people will develop cancer as a consequence of being exposed [to the radiation at Fukushima].”

According to the Nature article, the psychological risk may be far greater than any radiation risk.

Eliminating the LNT view of radiation, and allowing people to realize that low doses are not harmful, could help restore people’s acceptance of nuclear power as being a safe, pollution free and economic method for generating electricity.

Obama: The Out-Of-Touch President

President Obama and Democrats claim that Republicans are out of touch with ordinary Americans. But it’s Obama who’s scandalously out of touch with most Americans. Here’s proof.

Can Mitt Romney Reach Christians?

romneyreagan 300x189 Can Mitt Romney Reach Christians?Framing the election to Christians around Mitt Romney For President is a mistake from my perspective. Steve Deace and Matt Barber both have it “Framed Wrong” in my judgment; barring a miracle, the Romney campaign political triangulation strategy gets him killed with Evangelicals and Pro-Life Catholics.

Voter guides and endorsements are tremendous, but do not drive-out Christian voters.

That said, the Evangelical/Pro-Life Catholic Christian constituency must be pushed-out into the political theatre this cycle, and Romney has ZERO capacity to do that.

If Christians engage (“if”, in 2008 Obama won by 10M votes and an estimated 30M Evangelicals stayed home) I believe, when the choice in the voting booth is Obama or Romney, 90% of  the constituency will pull the lever for Romney. President Obama has forfeited his right to lead a free people.

…but Romney has no ability to actuate Christians this Fall; actually he’s a detriment, Christians when listening to Romney speak will conclude, “…he has the voice of Jacob and the hands of Esau.”.

I’m working on a plan to move Christians this election and finesse Romney’s inability to help himself within the Christian constituency.

The reason that moving Evangelicals and Pro-Life Catholics this fall is critical is —besides your premonition, “Assures us of Obama……..and the end of America……..thus the end of Western Civilization”— the consequences of losing the conservative “Farm Team” of Mayors, City Councilmen, County Commissioners, etc…, nationwide, because Christians stay home on November 6th.

…which has after-effects for 20-30 years down the road and the continuation of our Judeo Christian heritage and Christian culture being demolished brick by brick.

Freedom and political combat are not for sissies, Winston Churchill said, “Statesmen are not called upon to settle easy questions. It is where the balance quivers, and the proportions are veiled in mist, that the opportunity for world-saving decisions presents itself.”

I mean, for crying out loud, Romney’s making it as difficult as possible for us; two months ago he is announced on Thursday as the Keynote of the Commencement Address at Liberty University, then on Friday he names radical, homosexual activist, and homosexual marriage proponent Richard Grenell as his Foreign Policy Spokesman…

Then last month following the Tuesday vote to ban same-sex marriage by North Carolina voters, Obama endorses homosexual marriage on Wednesday, on Thursday Mitt Romney juxtaposes his position to President Obama’s by endorsing traditional marriage (that’s good), but on Friday, to exacerbate his problem with Evangelicals and Pro-Life Catholics, Governor Romney reaffirms, with neon lights flashing, his support for homosexual couples adopting children. I suppose the correct Christian response could be, “what the hell is he smoking”.

…the differentiation is then not between a Christian and a Mormon, but the moral and immoral.

The strategy of political triangulation, exhibited from 2000-2008 in the Republican quest for political domination (instead of principled beliefs based upon conviction and moral absolutes) destroyed Ronald Reagan’s legacy, and the Republican brand of:

  • limited government
  • lower taxes
  • deregulation of business
  • the-one-thing-government-can-do-for-me-is-leave-me-alone

It’s instructive to note that President Reagan won 49 States in his 1984 re-election campaign and then left the Presidency in 1988 to George H.W. Bush. It’s my view that the political triangulation strategy cost Republicans control of the U.S. House, U.S. Senate and in the end lost the Presidency.

Einstein’s definition of insanity belongs here, “Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

…from my distance, an ad hoc effort to push the Evangelical/Pro-Life Catholic constituencies into the marketplace is foremost, of highest priority, in the battle for the Soul of America.

Issa Grills Holder On “Fast & Furious”

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA), Chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, questions U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder on Operation Fast and Furious during the June 7, 2012 House Judiciary hearing. Specifically, he asks Holder who is responsible for Fast and Furious.

Exposed: Illegal Sex-Selective Abortion

Live Action released undercover footage today showing two National Abortion Federation (NAF) clinics in Arizona agreeing to break state law and perform an illegal sex-selective abortion. Today’s video is the third release in Live Action’s “Gendercide” project, documenting Planned Parenthood and NAF’s support for sex-selective abortion in America.
