The General Misfortune Of Mankind: The Electorate Vote
Once again, why will people diminish the value and dignity of their vote within the confines of the laboratory of democracy, the voting booth, acquiescing to emotional pettiness wounding their own country?
The 2012 caldron of boiling innuendo heats up as the public becomes invested in political maladies of spewed cloak-and-dagger panic designed to sway voter principles. Too many are duped by the appearance of upright intentions, influenced by emotional rhetoric and swayed by the liberalism of media coverage.
Whatever one votes, their voice is entitled to be heard. The wrong vote deserves to be considered a “general misfortune of mankind,” when it should be the “utmost moment of influence to a person’s welfare,” according to our founding father Alexander Hamilton.
It is by choice we have become emotional deluded voters, self-manipulated by our own fears and prejudice, unwilling at any cost to face the truth-shaking foundation of indoctrinated political beliefs, sadly in weakness pulling levers and throwing away the only Constitutional gift of real power. . .accumulated votes.
It’s not drama when our founding fathers warn against electing certain types of men. They got it right then, and they still have it right. Hamilton in the Federalist Paper #1 states: “I have had an eye, my Fellow-Citizens, to putting you upon your guard . . .”:
Resist, men with a despotic personality who may degrade an office; those hostile to the principles of liberty; those displaying a perverted ambition to aggrandize themselves by the confusion of their country, flattering themselves with fairer prospects of elevation; and demagogues who seeks to gain personal or partisan advantage through extravagant claims, promises, or charges.
America’s best hope lies with voters of brains and balance and the wisdom rising from the ashes of history. How is political rhetoric paying your bills? Has a sluggish economy stolen away your lifestyle? Will your child live a better American dream? How is business? Are seniors really a shovel-ready medical project? Are you desperate enough to take back your American dream on Tuesday November 6, 2012?
Government sells whatever the people will swallow. We sheepishly make enemies of ourselves in relinquishing principles to unaccountable men with the taxpayer’s blank checks, ruling rather than serving to preserve and protect. And, they love it!
Do you?
