November 6, 2012: An Election Or A Last Chance?

flag day November 6, 2012: An Election or a Last Chance?

Calling indecision cowardice may seem a bit harsh, but in honestly assessing the state of the nation today, anyone worth his salt would have to concur that indecision in today’s social climate is an act of pure foolishness.

The price for such foolishness will not just be that the wrong candidate got into the White House; but this time, in 2012, the price will be the very future of this nation.

We have a president who has announced that same sex marriage seems perfectly normal to him. Here is a case of one man leading the most morally upright nation in world history, who tells the people of this nation that what God calls an abomination (Lev 18: 22) is perfectly normal and acceptable.

Indecision and silence about statements like this is, without doubt, both cowardice and sin. To allow such conclusions without serious resistance means we have become mere respecters of persons. (Acts 10: 34) To accept the moral perversion of same sex marriage is the single strongest sign that we have become reprobate and are rapidly declining.

Visions of a nation busily sweeping out the Bible and all her constitutional and founding principles along with every tradition that was ever respected is more like a nightmare, where just outside this house once revered by the world, we see a heaping mass of everything we once held dear, with a rainbow flag mounted on the top and fluttering in the breeze.

Shortly after Obama’s ridiculous announcement that his view of marriage had changed, we were offered NBC’s lineup of fall TV shows with their all new show “The New Normal.” It is a series about a gay married couple. This may be the “New Normal” for secular liberal minions of moral decline, but it is not America. It is a force of LGBT, of decline, of satanic intrusion itself. It is a marker and a warning that after this, there is only judgment.

Mr. Obama has the right to pronounce anything he likes regarding his own sense of morality, but the proclamation should never be adopted as the model for the entire country. There is another proclamation made by the prophet Isaiah that makes this abundantly clear:

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! (Is 5: 20)

My advice is also clear; if given a choice between a biblical prophet and a president on matters of God and morality – always choose the prophet. Look around and listen carefully to those who are supporting Barack Obama’s “re-election at any cost” campaign. All the energy, the rhetoric, and the effort is based on one thing and one person: Barack Obama.

Conversely, listen to the Romney-Ryan supporters and the conservative principles that are being voiced around them. You will hear a call to save America and restore her to excellence and exceptionalism along with a much needed economic recovery. The attention is focused on America, not simply the candidates.

Take a hint from America’s only Prophet President, Abraham Lincoln, who declared that our government was to be “Of the people, by the people, for the people.” This is not cotton candy nostalgia, but rather it is a rare bird (perhaps like our symbolic eagle that needs to be protected as an endangered species.)

Mr. Obama has never listened closely to what America is saying, from the blocked pipeline to the unwanted healthcare bill. He has ignored our right to have secure borders and scoffed at the idea of defending the Defense of Marriage Act.

We have had great presidents who have earned the title of ‘Father of the Country’; who could have foreseen that one president would qualify as a mean-spirited, aloof, un-supportive, and very first ‘stepfather’ of the nation?

This preacher of the gospel must muster every bit of understanding of the scriptures and all the grace God is willing to afford to me by his Holy Spirit to make these most serious admonishments.

If we choose to allow Mr. Obama any more time at the helm of this nation, it will cease to resemble anything it ever was, and may cease to exist altogether. It will probably be absorbed into worldwide governance, and every bit of our sovereignty will be dissolved. The only freedoms left will be the freedom to sin, but privacy, open discourse, freedom of speech, and the very freedoms our sons and daughters died to procure will be a thing of the past.

What makes a spokesperson, preacher, or prophet of the Lord special has nothing to do with any personal charisma or knowledge they possess. What makes the difference between them and all other voices, whether they are connected to religion, politics, or any known discipline, is the single element known as obedience. They will not say anything that was not directly received or that in any way conflicts with the revealed word of God. Rather than being stodgy, implacable, or bull- headed, they are sign posts, standard bearers, and appointed trumpets for the good of the people. I adjure anyone of the several thousands of people who read my materials across this nation to take heed. This is not an ordinary election period, but it is the most serious crossroads we will ever come to in modern times.

What is my message? Change course now, or the road will shortly dead-end in confusion and shame.

Jehoshaphat, one of Israel’s greatest leaders, said it this way, “Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.” (2 Chronicles 20: 20)

Don’t worry; I am not exclusive, but many far more familiar voices are now sounding the warnings. Those with whom I share this calling are becoming more unified and vociferous than ever before. Could it be that this is the time to listen carefully – while there is still time?

Check your clock, America!

Obama’s Assault On The Middle Class

Barack Obama 5 SC Obamas Assault on the Middle Class

At nearly every campaign stop these days, the President convincingly declares that “the middle class is under assault.” Looking at the economic data produced by our own government, there can be no mistake that he’s right. But what he obviously doesn’t realize is that it’s his own policies that are besieging the working, producing, and taxpaying middle class of America.

We all like to think we’re part of that middle class economic stratum, and for the most part, we are. Those who are fortunate enough to have jobs, run businesses, hire people, pay taxes, are not on government assistance, and not rolling in dough are part of our middle class.

So it’s not surprising that he’d be targeting his reelection message to us. But we mustn’t get caught up in the grandiloquence of his oratory or his populist rhetorical appeals. We must instead look at the fruits of his first three years of labor, which are decimating to the middle class.

The average 16% real rate of unemployment and underemployment, based on the Department of Labor’s U-6 report, during Obama’s first three years in office has been devastating to the middle class. With over 15 million people not working (28 million according to the Wall Street Journal based on the U-6 data), there are that many fewer middle class taxpayers and consumers (and that many more on government assistance at the poverty level relying on income redistribution from producers.)

The job situation will not improve appreciably until the cost of doing business starts dropping. Last year, the Small Business Administration reported that regulation costs American business $1.75 trillion per year and costs small businesses as much as $10,585 per employee. Just the costs of Obamacare, Financial Regulatory Reform, and new EPA regulations are projected to increase that cost per employee by more than 30%, according to Investor’s Business Daily.

The federal budget has grown from $2.5 trillion to $3.8 trillion, a 40% increase, and our yearly deficit has quintupled from $240 billion per year to $1.3 trillion per year. Our debt-to-GDP ratio, a significant barometer of the fiscal health of a nation, has spiked to over 100%, a nearly 30% increase in just three years. The middle class will pay the costs of this government expansion. Even if Obama increases the taxes on “the rich” as he desires, the most it will raise is $65 billion, hardly scratching the surface of the deficit.

High energy prices hit the middle class harder than anyone, and the Recent Bureau of Labor Statistics report on consumer prices shows that gasoline costs are up 130% since Obama’s election. While not completely controllable domestically, Obama’s assault on domestic oil production and his weak dollar policy have contributed to an equivalent 130% tax increase on transportation costs.

And that’s not the only energy cost that’s increased. As a result of the administration’s assault on the coal industry, coal-fired power production has dropped from 44.6 to 36% in just one year. Coal is a cheap source of energy, and moving away from it will dramatically increase the cost of electricity. PJM Interconnection, the company that operates the electric grid for 13 Eastern and Midwestern states, indicates the new market-clearing price for projected 2015 capacity just cleared $136 per megawatt. That’s over eight times higher than the price for 2012, which was just $16. When these skyrocketing energy costs hit the middle class, it will be devastating.

ObamaCare was promised to lower the cost of health care for nearly everyone. Instead, private medical insurance costs have soared by as much as 59%, and hospital costs are up nearly three times the rate of core inflation. These costs adversely affect the middle class disproportionately, as the rich have no problem paying and the middle class is paying the cost of the lower income levels.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported just last month that the U.S. average weekly wage declined nearly 2% percent between the fourth quarter of 2010 and the fourth quarter of 2011. This is only the fifth time wages have declined in the past 33 years.

Succinctly stated, we have shrinking income, inflation in energy and food “skyrocketing” (just like Obama predicted four years ago), a weaker dollar, a ballooning debt, and a national security-risking deficit. The costs of all this “hope and change” are landing squarely on the back of the middle class.

A strong middle class equals a strong America. We can’t have one without the other. And our current policies are killing both. So don’t listen to Obama’s rhetoric; for it rings hollow. Look at his actions and his policies (and what has been done to cripple the middle class.) It truly leaves one wondering how he can pander as he does to the middle class and keep a straight face while doing it.

Christians, Silence Is Not An Option

Christian cross SC Christians, silence is not an option

With the exception of one column previously penned, I pray this becomes my most widely read to date.

The secular left has mastered use of the Internet to further its extremist goals. In fact, President Obama’s web-based “Organizing for America” propaganda machine may have given him the 2008 election.

Let’s beat them at their own game.

To that end, I have a strange request. I’m asking each God-fearing, freedom-loving American who reads this column to forward it; post it; tweet it; print it out; and give it to every pastor, priest, or cleric you know. If you don’t know any, give it to someone who does.

Why? I agree with Barack Obama that November 2012 represents the most important election of our lifetimes – perhaps our history. Of course, that’s where my agreement with Mr. Obama both begins and abruptly ends.

Here’s the operable question: Do we want America “fundamentally transformed” to mirror the secular-socialist ideals of the radical leftist currently “occupying” the White House?

In Barack Obama’s America, individual freedom is trampled beneath jackboots as a matter of course. It’s already happening at an unprecedented rate.

One need only look to the HHS mandate forcing Christian groups – both Catholic and Protestant – to violate, under penalty of law, biblical prohibitions against abortion homicide.

Or consider recent attempts by multiple elected officials, all Democrats, to shutdown Chick-fil-A – a private, Christian-owned business – simply because its leadership holds the biblical view of marriage.

Is this George Washington’s America, or Joseph Stalin’s Russia?

It’s definitely not your father’s USA.

Instead, wouldn’t we prefer the America envisioned by our Founding Fathers? A constitutional republic wherein individual liberty – whether economic, First Amendment-related, or Second Amendment-related – is sacrosanct and off limits?

Pastors, you’re it. You’re our front line of defense. It’s up to you to rally the troops. Now begins the second American Revolution and, as with the first, it’s on you – men of the cloth – to take the lead.

That is, if you hope to remain free to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Speaking of chicken: in recent years, there’s been an epidemic of cultural inaction exhibited by far too many ministers of the gospel. It’s fear-based. “Oh, I don’t talk about political issues,” they say. “You know, ‘separation of Church and State’ and all that.”

Baloney.

If this is you – and only you and our Lord know for sure – you’ve been deceived by the enemies of God. You’ve chosen the easy way out – the path of least resistance. This is something Christ, whom all Christians are called to emulate, never did – not once.

So, respectfully, man-up, Padre! Be the “salt and light of the world,” as Christ so admonished.

But you don’t have to go it alone. There are detailed, easily digestible tools available. Civil-rights firm Liberty Counsel, for instance, is distributing more than 100,000 copies of “Silence is Not an Option,” a concise, though, and comprehensive DVD and printed material collection informing pastors and churches about what is permissible regarding political activity (Please, get it for your church at LC.org or by calling 1-800-671-1776).

“The church must be empowered to confront the assaults on our culture, our faith, and our freedom,” said Mat Staver, founder and chairman of Liberty Counsel. ”I don’t want any pastor, church leader or lay person to say, ‘What more could I have done to protect life and liberty?’”

“Silencing people of faith in the public square has always been the goal of those who realize the influence that pastors, churches and people of faith have on elections. I want pastors to remove the muzzle and replace it with a megaphone,” he said. “Pastors and churches have a lot of freedom to address biblical and moral issues, to educate people about the candidates, and to encourage people to vote. Not one church has ever lost its tax-exemption for endorsing or opposing candidates or for supporting or opposing local, state or federal laws.”

Did you get that? Despite hundreds of thousands of threatening letters sent by hard-left groups like the ACLU and Barry Lynn’s Americans United, not a single church has lost tax-exemption for socio-political activity – zip, zero, nada. Not even for endorsing candidates from the pulpit.

Indeed, if these anti-Christian bullies had been around two-and-a-half centuries ago, and our forefathers had paid them any mind, we may never have had the first American Revolution.

Don’t let them halt the second.

We’re on the precipice of the abyss, and, pastors, I think you know it. But know this too: There’s a whole lot relating to both culture and politics you can both say and do, and very little – if anything – you can’t.

Churches can educate about political, moral, and biblical issues. These kinds of issues – whether abortion, marriage, feeding the poor, or any community issue – are never off limits from the pastor’s pulpit, even if politicians are also talking about them. “Silence is Not an Option” systematically addresses the misrepresentations used to muzzle America’s pastors and Christian leaders.

Leading up to Ronald Reagan’s landslide presidential victory in 1980, Rev. Jerry Falwell captured the crux of the church’s apathy problem: “What is wrong in America today?” he asked. “We preachers – and there are 340,000 of us who pastor churches – we hold the nation in our hand. And I say this to every preacher: We are going to stand accountable before God if we do not stand up and be counted.”

Dr. Falwell’s words ring no less true today.

Imagine the benefit to our culture if thousands of churches across America registered millions of Christians to vote. How about pledge-drives wherein pastors ask tens-of-millions of Christians to simply commit to voting biblical values?

The possibilities are limitless.

Proverbs 4:18 reminds us: “The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.”

Shine bright, salt and light. Don’t be choked into dark silence.

Because silence is not an option.

It can’t be.

Youth Vote Shifts Toward Romney

Mitt Romney with supporters 2 SC Youth vote shifts toward Romney

According to a new USA Today/Suffolk University poll, the voter turnout next November will be around 1.6% less than it was in 2008. The survey found, “Most of the non-voters would choose Barack Obama over Mitt Romney…”

A noted political “expert” thinks Independents will be chased away from the polls by the extremely negative campaigning from Barack Obama and the Democrats, and that is their goal. He opines: “One of the reasons the Democrats have been so much more negative thus far this year is that they are just trying to keep the independents at home because the polls suggest there is still a larger Democratic base still than a Republican base.”

The truth is “the polls” don’t suggest there are more Democrats than Republicans. In fact, they tell us just the opposite, and they have indicated this for a long time. Moreover, the latest Rasmussen poll of generic preference for Congress shows that likely voters want a Republican Congress by a margin of 42/39.

Another Rasmussen survey of likely voters shows Romney leading 47/43, which reflects a continuation of the lead he took last week before he named Paul Ryan as his Vice-Presidential running mate.

The indications are that the people who are not showing up this time are for the most part probably coming from the pool of “new” voters, whether the young or others wanted to be “part of history” by voting for Obama. They were one-time voters the Democrats can’t and won’t get back.

While new voters are planning to stay home, a new Zogby poll is reporting 41% of “Young voters” aged 18 to 29 who will be voting plan to vote for Romney. If this holds in November, it will deliver 5% more of this group to the Romney/Ryan ticket than John McCain got in 2008. Still worse for Obama is the 10% of young voters who are “undecided,” as “undecideds” almost always go with the challenger or stay home.

One week after Obama’s vicious TV ads started, his approval rating fell 3 points from 46% to 43%. Those who think these negative spots are helping Obama are wrong. Independents Republicans and probably some Democrats don’t like them.

Summed up, A) fewer people intend to vote; B) of those who will vote, fewer intend to vote for Obama; and C) negative nasty TV ads are turning people away from Obama.

Pansexuality: The Ultimate PC Proclivity

gay pride flag 3 SC Pansexuality: The ultimate PC proclivity

There are fundamental differences between men and women.

One may feel that statement is self-evident and unnecessary, though liberals have spent decades attacking traditional gender roles in an attempt to attain their twisted view of equality. Sweden might be leading the charge, having added a gender-neutral pronoun to its language and classroom assignments mandating students play “house” with any conceivable combination of fathers and mothers in the imagined families.

Parents around the world have jumped on the bandwagon, raising their children without the “stereotype” of being identified as either a boy or a girl. Despite the fact that God created very different equipment for Adam than He did for Eve, these batty parents think they are somehow on the cutting edge of redefining the human experience.

One such boy (yes, I said it), raised for five years as ‘it’ rather than ‘him,’ was dubbed “lucky” by a British columnist who felt the child was “divorced from the crippling expectation of how boys and girls ought to behave.”

American lefties hate to be outdone when it comes to tearing down millennia-old values and traditions, so there are plenty of examples of U.S. idiocy in redefining gender. Schools host gender-neutral homecoming dances without a king or queen, U.S. passports for minors refer to “Parent One” and “Parent Two” instead of identifying a father and mother, colleges offer dorm rooms open to anybody regardless of their gender or sexual “identity,” and the list goes on.

If the left is successful in creating a generation of androgynous humans, who will be attracted to whom? One former Texas representative might have the answer.

Mary Gonzalez was the second openly gay member of the Texas legislature and, upon leaving the position, announced that the terms “lesbian” and even “bisexual” did not encompass her sexual appetite. She proudly came out as a “pansexual,” which I initially thought referred to someone really into cooking, but soon discovered its true meaning.

Basically, Gonzalez and those who share her deviancy can be attracted to anyone – male, female, both, or neither.

Social liberals endlessly engage in the nebulous pursuit of inclusion while touting the benefits of sexual freedom. The pansexual, it would seem, represents the ultimate liberal poster child (of indeterminate gender.)

Keep Running, Joe Biden: New Ad Hits It Out Of The Park
