Ryan Roasts Big Mouth Biden At Debate

For those who keep track of such things, at the debate last night, Joe Biden interrupted Paul Ryan eighty-two times, angrily throwing up his arms, his face often contorted in rage. One commentator said Biden came across as a cranky old man. When he wasn’t angrily interrupting, he was smirking and laughing, often at the oddest times, as when Ryan was discussing a nuclear Iran.

Paul Ryan on the other hand came across as presidential, polite, reasoned, and most importantly, truthful.

Truth. That’s something we don’t get much of with the Obama administration. And Biden spent the first few minutes of the debate extending the Bengazi-Gate debacle even further than his boss. He had the audacity to state on national television that the Libyan consulate hadn’t asked for extra security prior to 9/11. This after extensive Congressional hearings where Congressman Issa showed the State Department the cables where the security detail repeatedly asked for additional security. After the debate, even MSNBC took Uncle Joe to task for this whopper. You know when a liberal loses MSNBC that they’re in trouble.

Despite Uncle Joe’s crazy antics, Paul Ryan cogently presented the Romney-Ryan plan of fiscal sanity, reform of our entitlement system, and a reversal of the Obama administration’s gutting of our military.

Instead of Obama’s “leading from behind” strategy, he echoed Ronald Reagan’s “peace through strength” that makes the world safer instead of (under Obama) a world that is burning before our very eyes.

Ryan Effectively Spars With Animated Biden At VP Debate

Paul Ruan SC Ryan effectively spars with animated Biden at VP debate

On the heels of a decisive GOP victory at the first presidential debate, VP candidate Paul Ryan generally met high expectations by going on the offensive early and often during Thursday night’s match-up against Joe Biden.

To be fair, Biden bested his boss’ dismal performance by staying true to his identity as a bombastic, old-school politician. Infinitely more animated than Obama, he frequently interrupted his Republican rival and grinned widely while Ryan spoke.

Though he steered clear of any glaringly obtuse gaffes, responses filled with long pauses and continual usage of “uh” and “um” stood in stark contrast to the obvious depth of knowledge Ryan brought to the event. While regularly referring to Ryan as “my friend,” Biden treated him dismissively while the challenger conducted himself with the character to effectively fill the nation’s second-highest executive position.

Given moderator Martha Raddatz’s history with Obama, she fostered a fairly balanced environment for the exchange of verbal jabs. Of course, I am comparing her to Jim Lehrer’s method — however ineffective — of holding Obama’s hand and prompting him to give a somewhat coherent response.

Raddatz began the debate, a more relaxed setup as both she and the candidates sat around a large desk, with the terrorist attacks in Libya exactly one month ago. An experienced foreign correspondent, Raddatz’s first asked Biden if the entire ordeal was a “massive intelligence failure.”

Ryan weighed in on the issue, mentioning the six references Obama made to the United Nations council concerning the YouTube video originally blamed for the violence. He immediately struck back with the absurdity of placing armed guards outside of the U.S. Embassy in Paris but not providing the same in Libya.

“What we are watching on our TV screens is the unraveling of the Obama foreign policy,” he said, saying the president’s position “promotes weakness abroad.”

Biden blamed Romney for prematurely blaming the current administration’s foreign policy failures for the atmosphere of violence, to which Ryan retorted, “It’s never too early to speak up for our values.”

Continuing in the foreign policy vein, Raddatz asked the candidates about Iran’s nuclear program.

Ryan expertly dissected the last four years of Obama failure, stating the Iranian program can feasibly produce five times more nuclear weapons than it could prior to his election.

“This administration has no credibility on this issue,” he said.

Biden tried to defend the Democrats’ opposition to imposing strong sanctions on Iran, saying they would not have been supported by the rest of the world. The eternal leftist, he wants to see America liked rather than respected. Ryan, on the other hand, seems to think we can have both.

When Biden suggested Iran is not a threat because they do not currently possess a weapon with which to use its nuclear material, Raddatz shot back with her own zinger, saying, “You’re acting a little bit like they don’t want one!”

Obama’s failed promise to return unemployment to below 6 percent was the topic Raddatz used to bring the debate back to U.S. soil, asking each candidate what they would do to reach that goal.

While Biden rested on his party’s supposed laurels, touting how Obama “saved” General Motors, he also found a way to make the first mention of Romney’s off-the-cuff “47 percent” comment.

“I think the vice president very well knows that sometimes the words don’t come out of your mouth the right way,” Ryan said without missing a beat.

In response to the question, Ryan touched on each of his ticket’s five-point plan to add 12 million jobs and achieve 4 percent economic growth. Biden scored some points in return when, after Ryan disparaged Obama’s stimulus plan, he brought up the fact that Ryan sought stimulus funds twice for his constituents.

The candidates explained differences of opinion concerning Medicare, which prompted Ryan to bring up the massive fund transfer from Medicare to ObamaCare the Democrats recently approved.

“They got caught with their hands in the cookie jar, turning Medicare into a piggybank for ObamaCare,” he said, attempting to speak over Biden’s attempts to interrupt him. “I know you’re under a lot of duress to make up for lost ground, but I think people would be better served if we stop interrupting each other.”

Ryan performed well throughout the debate; but when the subject of taxes was broached, he was really able to shine. Attacking the Democrat plan to raise top tax rates to nearly 45 percent, he explained, “There aren’t enough rich people and small businesses to tax to pay for all their spending.”

Spewing facts faster than Biden could process them, Ryan brought up the 8 out of 10 small business filing taxes as individuals, the two-thirds of all jobs that are created by those small businesses, and the fallacy of taxing them completely out of business.

Raddatz asked what role the two candidates’ religion — Catholicism — plays in their views on abortion. Ryan’s principled view, reinforced when he saw the heartbeat of his firstborn child during a sonogram, is that life begins at conception and should be protected at all costs. While Biden claims to share the same view, he apparently has no qualms about allowing Americans to readily destroy that life. In technical terms, I believe that is called homicide.

Both candidates reportedly took debate preparation seriously; but Ryan, less experienced in such high-profile debates, seemed much more in control of his responses. His exceptional discipline, both personally and politically, was on display as he made easy work of Biden’s bombastic attacks with his own barrage of facts.

Help These 5 Conservatives Win

Todd Akin SC Help these 5 conservatives win

Please send these five conservatives whatever you can to bring them over the line.

Josh Mandel, US Senate (Ohio)

Josh Mandel is the kind of courageous, principled leader we need to bring fiscal sanity to the Senate. In the Senate, he will vote to cut taxes, balance the budget, repeal Obamacare, and get rid of the Obama-era regulations that  hurt our economy.

Sherrod Brown, his opponent, has a ZERO lifetime American Conservative Union rating. Rasmussen calls this one a tie at 46/46. With Romney surging in Ohio and Brown another Democrat unable to get above 46%, Mandel can win with our help.

Todd Akin, US Senate (Missouri)

Todd Akin is thisclose to Democrat leftist Claire McCaskill. She is another incumbent who is below 46% and ahead just 45.8%/43.5%.  We know the whole story about Akin’s foolish statement, but keep in mind that Akin has an American Conservative Union rating of 97% (and she has an ACU rating of 15%, three points less than Harry Reid’s 18%.)

Scott Brown, US Senate, Massachusetts)

Scott Brown is our man in liberal-infested Massachusetts. He is as conservative (74% ACU) as he can be so far above the Mason/Dixon Line. His Democrat opponent is a fraudulent creep who lied about being an Indian to steal a college admission using a fake affirmative action claim.

Karren Harrington Congress vs. Debbie Wasserman Schultz

Harrington is down just 4.5 points to Schultz, who beat her 60/39 in 2010. The same poll shows Harrington actually winning by .3% among absolute voters. The 16 points of undecideds can spell defeat for this snarky liberal with a 0% ACU rating.

Connie Mack, candidate for US Senate (Florida)

During his four terms in the House, Mack has built a strong conservative record through his efforts to rein in spending, improve our economy, and keep Americans safe.  He voted against TARP and “ObamaCare.”  He is the original sponsor of the Mack-Penny plan (HR 1848), which cuts spending by one percent each year for six years, caps overall spending at 18% of GDP, and balances the budget without raising taxes.  In the Senate, he will be a conservative voice for reforms we urgently need.  Mack has a 96% lifetime ACU rating, and Democrat Bill Nelson has just an 8% lifetime ACU rating.

SolarCity — Another Obama Scandal

SolarCity SC SolarCity Another Obama Scandal

SolarCity (SCTY), another “green energy” company and recipient of millions of dollars of taxpayer funds, in under investigation by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), sources reveal.

The company, which recently filed for its initial IPO, has disclosed that it received subpoenas in July from the U.S. Treasury Department.  The Treasury Department is investigating whether companies overstated the market value of solar panel arrays they installed when claiming the 30% federal cash grant.  The IRS also notified SolarCity that it is auditing two of its investment funds and reviewing the claimed value of solar systems submitted to receive the federal cash grants.

The story of SolarCity is different from that of Solyndra, Evergreen Solar, Beacon Power, and the host of other companies that gave big political contributions to the Obama campaign and received taxpayer loans and grants in return because it’s worse.

Like the other scandals, SolarCity’s founder is Elon Musk; the high-profile billionaire has a history of giving lots of money to the Obama campaign.  Musk is a big donor to Obama, having given $35,800 to the Obama Victory Fund and another $30,400 to the Democratic National Committee.  The relationship has paid huge dividends for the billionaire.

But unlike the other scandals, he has been able to parlay his relationship with the president to creating not one but three Solyndra-type companies.

The National Legal and Policy Center discovered that SolarCity spent $535,000 in 2009 and 2010 to lobby Congress and the Department of Energy on climate legislation, the Recovery Act, “green workforce training and development,” and provisions in various legislation “relevant to solar development.” SolarCity has sought to extend a program, due to expire at the end of 2012, that delivers to manufacturers an upfront cash grant in lieu of a 30 percent Investment Tax Credit (called the Section 1603 grant program). So far, according to DOE reports, SolarCity has received more than $66 million from that program.

SolarCity also received a $344 million loan guarantee from the Department of Energy.  Most suspiciously, much of the company’s revenue is generated from a partnership with military housing developers with a goal of installing solar panels on 120,000 rooftops of military housing units across the country

This is not Musk’s first foray into the Washington, DC swamp.  His electronic car company Tesla received a loan guarantee for $465 million.  Thanks in part to Obama’s DOE, Tesla went public, enriching Musk by nearly $1 billion on his $35 million investment.  His other company SpaceX relies on over $1 billion in NASA funding.

Musk symbolizes the Obama entrepreneur — someone who relies on government to make their riches as opposed to the marketplace.

During his debate with President Obama, Mitt Romney quipped that the president was not picking “winners and losers”, but “losers and losers.”  This certainly appears to be the case with SolarCity.

SNOPES Try To Cover Up Obama’s Ring

People, don’t trust Snopes.com. They are liberal hacks and apologists for Barack Hussein Obama. Here, they are caught with their pants down.

Democrats Recruit In Schools; GOP Banned

Republican Democrat SC Democrats recruit in schools; GOP banned

Once again, a school district is apparently wearing its leftist affiliation with pride as Democrat operatives were allowed to influence students at several campuses that denied similar admittance to Republicans.

A spokesperson for the Florida district admitted that volunteers from the liberal organization Organizing for America “did register students to vote”, and reports indicate at least one recruiter, a former teacher, made pro-Obama speeches to six separate classrooms.

The county Republican Party’s lawyer stated that sources for the group falsely identified themselves as non-partisan local elections office workers. This claim was disputed by the school, but internal emails appear to support the allegation.

School administration must have known that something was fishy about the situation, though, because when Republicans requested the same courtesy, sources say the school declined “because that would indeed be an additional violation of board policy.”

Of course, that implicitly means that the school would rather violate its own policy by allowing one party undue influence than to make a serious attempt at allowing equal access by both sides.

To their credit, school staff actually invited a state GOP official to speak to many of the same students in an effort to provide balance. That invitation was rescinded – twice – based on the recommendation of the school board’s attorney.

“I was concerned that the remedy … is not to have another wrong to mitigate it,” he said.

The incident led the local Republican executive committee to file a complaint with the Florida Elections Commission, accusing that the group deceptively gained access to the school.

Desperate Democrats realize that they must deceive future generations — on the hook to pay for reckless spending by today’s politicians — or risk being forever relegated to the status of an inconsequential party.

The silver lining, though, is found in diligent patriots across this nation on the lookout for such dishonest methods.

Wallace: ‘Most Disrespectful Debate Performance In My Lifetime’

Chris Wallace Calls Biden Openly Contemptuous and Disrespectful in VP Debate.

The 47%

Mitt Romney 2 The 47%

Much has been made about a certain figure – 47% and the supposed gaffe made by presidential candidate Mitt Romney. That number, however, has come into play a lot this political season. There’s the 47% of Americans that are excused from paying income taxes, the 47 million citizens collecting food stamps, the 47% that will only vote for Barack Obama, the 47% that will only vote for Mitt Romney, the 47% of the total population that won’t vote for anybody, and finally a political race that is tied at 47%. And all of it is within the pollster’s margin of error (an alibi of mitigation masquerading as a performance bell curve). It’s no wonder confusion reigns.

Author Greg Easterbrook nailed it when he said “torture numbers enough and they’ll confess to anything”.  We are in the last 30 days of percentage, numbers, statistic,s and fact-checking hell!

The other night while waiting for a table at a local Outback Steakhouse, I surveyed the middle class crowd that strolled in after watching the 6:00 news on NBC or some other network channel. At least 60% of my fellow patrons were of Medicare age. No less than 50% of that 60% appeared to be 10-20% overweight as they enjoyed their deep fried Bloomin’ Onion. How many of them would vote for the guy who, according to his opponent, would decimate their Medicare safety net?

Having breakfast the next morning at a small local café, I was surrounded by Teamsters, AFL-CIO’ers, IBEW’ers, UAW’ers, SEIU’ers, USW’ers, etc. – you get the picture. Even sitting in a corner booth, I stood out in my Vans and powder blue Bermuda shorts among the Union Proud – logo emblazoned tee shirts and steel-toed boots. What percentage of them is likely to vote for the corporate executive suit who believes strongly in the free market and Open Shop labor?

Later that day, I received a sage tidbit of information from my 91-year old mother-in-law. It went something like this…”kids don’t like Governor Romney because he reminds them of their dad. President Obama is the cool guy”. If she is right (and she is never wrong because she claims a  +/- 99% margin of error), then what percentage of those young hipsters are likely to vote for ‘dad’?

That evening, I was channel-surfing and stopped on the Bravo network, which is wedged in between MTV, VH1, Food Network, and in close proximity to the Cartoon Channel. I stopped for a second simply to get a dose of dysfunctionality that remarkably has the  capacity to eclipse roughly 80% of their viewers. But then I had to think about 100% of those viewers and decide how many of them did their own due diligence of the presidential candidates instead of relying on Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart. I came up with 2% (with a +/-2% moe) that would opt for the button-down oxford cloth guy that can spit out facts and stats like an Uzi over the metro-sexual cool guy with a terrific smile who can sing like Al Green that makes middle-age ladies come emotionally unhinged.

Just before turning in, I wanted to catch the The David Letterman Show. I succumbed after only 47 seconds when David was between 4 and 5 of his nightly Top Ten List, realizing that Romney was probably right to assume he had no chance convincing 47% of the population to vote for him.

It appears the race is going to be a dead heat, of course with a margin of error of +/- 47%.
