The EPA has doled out $6.3 million in grants to various environmental activists groups and to an Indian tribe in Washington state.
The Nisqually Indian Tribe is getting $170,000 to work on a “market-based approach that encourages landowners to protect the restore their forested properties and be compensated for their efforts. (Read: Pay off to vote Democrat in the next election cycle.)
The Thurston Conservation District will receive $187,450 to help preserve farmland by “linking farmers looking for land with landowners who don’t want to convert their agricultural lands to other uses such as housing developments.” (Haven’t these people heard of newspaper ads or craigslist to advertise for such things? And, God forbid, that someone might buy land to build houses for humans to live in.)
The Nature Conservancy gets $500,000 in taxpayer dollars to “study” what flood plain areas in Puget Sound have the “best potential for storing floodwaters and providing fish and wildlife habitat. It would encourage a new way of looking at flood-risk reduction that goes beyond building river levees and dikes.” (What in the world does this mean? Doesn’t the state wildlife agency deal with such things or the Army Corps of Engineers?)
It is clear why The Nature Conservancy would get half a million bucks from Lisa Jackson. It’s a radical green group that buys up lands for “protection” and then sells them at inflated prices to governments. It is also deeply involved in anti-capitalist activities on behalf of the global warming movement. Read more about extremist activities of The Nature Conservancy at DiscoverTheNetworks.
These are your tax dollars hard at work to buy Democrat votes, fund radical green groups, and undermine capitalism.
