Environmental Defense Fund, Greenpeace Conspire With ‘Climate Scientists’

A Greenpeace UK activist flies a climate change flag near Big Ben in London.

As Steve Milloy and other climate realists dig into the latest Climategate 2 emails, we’re learning more and more about the cozy relationship the climate alarmists have with anti-energy groups.

The latest emails show that climate alarmists Michael Mann at Penn State, Phil Jones at the Climate Research Unit at the University of East Anglia, and others routinely use the services and power of such groups as the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) and Greenpeace to push their alarmist climate change political agenda.

In one series of Climategate 2 emails, Michael Mann is working closely with EDF to place an editorial in  USA Today to respond to an editorial published earlier by Nick Schulz of TechCentralStation.com in the paper. Mann has drafted the editorial, but it will be published under the byline of the EDF in the newspaper.

In another set of Climategate 2 emails, climate alarmist Sebastian Catovsky at Imperial College is working on getting funding from Greenpeace UK to promote his climate change agenda. He is urging the University of East Anglia to also get Greenpeace funding. Catovsky will be doing “research” to promote a Greenpeace political agenda – not to conduct objective scientific research. His main project will be to do research that convinces British citizens to reduce fossil fuel use in order to avoid climate change or rising sea levels.

Why Should We Care?
All of these Climategate 2 emails are relevant to Americans because these politically-driven “scientists” funnel their data into the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel On Climate Change (IPCC), which then publishes a “climate bible” for the governments of the world. These governments based their environmental policies on the information funneled through the IPCC from these biased “climate scientists.” The EPA uses IPCC materials to impose its green agenda on all Americans.

The data from these “climate scientists” is flawed and IPCC bureaucrats massage the data to make it more alarmist. This data is then used by bureaucrats like Lisa Jackson to justify her job-killing campaign against fossil fuels in America.

  1. As most of us have already determined, it is impossible to arrive at a valid conclusion when you do not have, or even worse, refuse to consider all of the factors. Since this ridiculous argument started we have seen various ? scientific ? reports that clearly omit important information and some even make this a point, supposedly in their favor.

This is similar to adding the numbers 1,2,3,and 4 to arrive at the total of 6 because you intentionally did not include 4 in the summation. It is appalling that those claiming to be scientists would do such a thing, but perhaps we should expect it from politicians.

  2. I wish Greenpeace would take a nice long boat ride with Obamination, Cowshell and all the thugs……
and someone should sink their boat. Maybe they should sail by Somalia?
I love animals very much……….but Greenpeace, EPA and the Peta people and some others go way overboard.
    Pardon the pun. :)
