With Hamas’ rockets falling on Israel, massive layoffs decimating American families’ finances, and Barack Obama demanding massive tax increases (otherwise threatening to drive us over the fiscal cliff), we cannot help but daydream about four years from now. We dream of days when Barack Obama will finally be retired and when his ignorance of economics will no longer plague our homeland.
We don’t want to think about the pain of the present. Let’s focus on a better, brighter future that is possible once the blight of Obama is gone. Who will step forward in 2016 and ask to lead America?
For the Democratic Party, the answer is clear. Joe Biden has all but declared he will run again. Maybe this time, he will have a leg up as the presumptive heir of the Obama legacy. But if our hunches are correct, it will be even harder to blame George W. Bush for the stagnant economy that is likely to persist.
Next on the Democratic team will be Hillary Clinton. She will still be in her 60’s and can still muster the energy for a run. She and Bill haven’t stopped dreaming about reclaiming their old house since the day they stepped out of it in January 2001.
On the Republican side, it is harder to read the tea leaves. The best place to start is with those who lost to Mitt Romney in 2012.
We believe Senator Rick Santorum will return from the 2012 line-up. Santorum was a surprisingly strong finisher in Iowa, and he took an underfunded campaign and challenged Mitt Romney deep into the primary season. He rallied conservatives of all stripes. He is strong with social conservatives, economic conservatives, and foreign policy conservatives. Plus, he has the benefit of an ongoing organization. Santorum is now traveling the country keeping his supporters engaged and involved.
After Santorum, the most popular of the challengers was Ron Paul. Paul is likely too old, but he has a son in the United States Senate who could pick up his father’s mantel and libertarian-leaning supporters. Senator Rand Paul went out of his way in 2012 to endorse Mitt Romney and travel coast to coast helping Republican candidates lower down the ticket. He has a savvy political team in place; and if he should run, we believe he will do even better in the primaries than his father.
Another contender who merits close watching ran in 2008, but he skipped 2012. We are speaking of Governor Mike Huckabee. Still in the public eye because of his highly-rated FOX NEWS TV show, Huckabee has stayed engaged in politics by helping dozens of candidates through HUCK Pac, his political action committee. Huckabee is tireless and travels making speeches relentlessly.
Huckabee also may have an advantage based on the issues. Mike Huckabee is an expert on Israel and Mideast politics. If Israel survives four more years of neglect by Barack Obama, it will likely be fighting for its life against the forces of radical Islam. If Iran gets nuclear weapons, they would be tempted to use them against Israel. Huckabee can speak with clarity and vision on the problems of this region, and he likely could help foster peace in the region.
Lastly, we don’t know if Senator Marco Rubio of Florida will run, but he would make a great candidate. Rubio is the Republican Party’s best-known Hispanic leader. He is loved by the Tea Party, and he has a voting record that any conservative could love. Marco would have to give up seeking re-election to the US Senate, but it is a possibility.
Dreaming of 2016 sure beats thinking about the ongoing slow motion wreck happening in Washington DC under the stewardship of Barack Obama. We hope the time passes quickly.

I agree with you and I read this already in an article a day aftet the election, he will try to run for a 3rd term and if it does not work he will have Muchelle run for Prez. He is the typical Dictator, once in power it will take a war against him to take him out, like Mubarrak and the others in the middle east.
Every morning the first thing I do is check the head lines hoping to see that some patriot dropped a .50 cal on the boon from a mile away.

If that happens then it is time to leave the United States because there have only been 2 terms to be President and if that gay illegal American hateing Muslim turns things around the way he wants them then why live in the US? Our country has never been in the mess it is now with the government we have now. They are weak and Congress and the House don’t have the balls to stand up to that gay illegal Muslim. I don’t believe Obama has – as you say, an “ignorance” of economics. It only appears that way if you begin with the assumption the President WANTS a vibrant, productive and capitalistic society. He does not. He’s TOLD us he likes Mao TseDung. He wants this disaster to get worse. When Charles Krautheimer says Barak is naive to go to Vegas the day after the Benghazi murders, it is Krautheimer who’s naive. Barak went to Vegas to celebrate! He;s delighted to hear a white gay man was dragged out into the African dirt, raped and murdered along with 3 other Americans. He giggled over the notion of a white marine and an unloaded gun staring at Barak’s pals, Muslim Brotherhood and their cousins. I wish people would stop mentioning Rubio as a Pres candidate. He IS NOT eligible. Neither of his parents were US citizens when he was born. Yes, he makes a great Senator, and we NEED all the conservative senators we can get. I have serious doubts about his immigration reform ideas. Personally, any candidate who wants to give amnesty to illegals is NOT the person I will vote for. Whomever gets the nod needs to be highly trained how do deal with “GOTCHA” questions by the Lib media. Newt would be a great trainer for that.

It is wishful thinking that he will be gone after his second term. Really I think it is time to remove him by impeachment but the senate will keep him in power, we have may no choice but open rebellion to remove the usurper that is with real guns and real bullets and the spilling of blood of the patriots. It is glaringly obvious that the real agenda, skillfully executed, is the total destruction of this countries economy, morals and culture to facilitate the installation of a socialist communist dictatorship. Witness the difference between his words and his actions. He says he is going to create jobs, yet his every action destroys jobs. He admits his plan will cause energy prices to “skyrocket”, a rare truthfull utterence! – Keystone pipeline, oil drilling in gulf, thousands of new regulations, the list goes on. The only jobs he created are in the Federal government. More people have been added to the Social Security disability rolls than new jobs created in the private sector. Soaring national debt. Election fraud, Appointment of known radicals, socialists and communists to high Federal positions.

Yes Obama may well get a third or even fourth term. All that really stands in his way is the House of Reps. The Senate would go for it especially under Harry Reid. The American public lost control of the vote years ago to voter fraud. The states mainly committing the crimes are not going to change their methods that have worked so well since 1980. Our government has become our worst enemy, not the Russians or Al Qaeda. Even now, our richest are getting all their assets out of the USA. Everyone who has the ability to flee might well want to get on with it as quickly as possible before they close the borders, not from illegals coming in but from Americans wanting to flee the country with their hard earned assets. I am very concerned that we will never get Obama out of his present dictatorship unless we remove him physically using the armed forces. He knows that…why do you think he is taking away the power of the military and trying to remove guns from the hands of the citizens? Assuming this country is still in existence after four more years of Obama in charge, why is no one suggesting Paul Ryan as a possible candidate for President in 2016? douglasdauntless, you’re probably exactly correct. This last election of 06Nov2012 basically said it all. First, Romney, that was all the Republicans could muster? Secondly, Congress, they’re all in on this along with the Federal Courts. The courts approved Obama for president in 2008 knowing he was Kenyan. Now after the elections the movie “Lincoln” comes out, no accident, but Obama is no Lincoln but I guess his Messiah complex probably makes him see himself in a stovepipe hat or maybe his hand in his coat like Napoleon or something just as lame. “We the People”, haven’t really had any influence for many elections and now Obama will make sure just having a bowl of “Mealy Meal” to eat will be our only desire just like Somalia with the dollar so worthless we can burn them to keep warm like Germany in 1923 did the Marks. When Somalia fell into anarchy, they hacked all the police to death with machetes, or so we were told when we were there in 1993 and the USA still was something.
