A day of boisterous protests over cuts to higher education that included thousands of students swarming the state Capitol ended with dozens of arrests after demonstrators refused to leave the building.
Authorities on Monday evening arrested 68 people, most of whom will be charged with trespassing, the California Highway Patrol said. Four people were arrested earlier in the day.
Police started pulling out protesters who remained in the Capitol rotunda around 7:30 p.m., more than an hour after they began warning them with a bullhorn to leave.
Protesters chanted “We’re doing this for your kids,” as one by one they were lifted by the arms, handcuffed with plastic ties, and led away.

On TV one protestor told how he wanted a “free education”. Well, too bad. Learn to WORK. You already got 13 years of “free education”, grades k-12
Not surprising that this comes from “Granolafornia”. The land of fruits, nuts and flakes . . . Get a job you idiots! Earn your way! Is that too much to ask?
Two universal rules applies to these ingrates.

before it’s all over I’m guessing 50% of the college students in this country will be sitting around in the streets chanting for freebes…it contagious and they have nothing better to do and think they’re doing something important….cut’s in edu. now isn’t that funny higher edu. has risen so fast, all the left does is talk about big oil rising and health care cost rising, but, nothing, not a peep about their liberal institutions of higher edu. and the fact that those cost rose faster than oil/energy by a long shot…now how is that? and now that it simply can’t continue and must be curtailed the kids are like wacho…in PA a state school is appx. $6500.00 a yr without board so add what another $2,000.00. or go to a freaken school close to home like my kids did! Drive an hour each way like my husband did 35 yr ago, stop your whinning and if you can’t go whin to your parents and tell them they owe you not me!
