Last week, a young man entered a southern New Mexico chiropractic clinic in the morning and filled out the forms given to him by the doctor. When the doctor returned to pick up the forms, he hardly expected to have a small caliber pistol thrust in his face and told to hand over his cash. The middle-aged doctor had no plan of giving up to a young scamp, who in this author’s opinion likely wanted the money only for drugs. The chiropractor lunged at the would-be thief. The small gun wasn’t easy to get control of. The doctor did make a punch that collided with the attacker’s nose. After the duo hit the ground, the gun still remained in the young man’s possession. And in the scuffle that followed, the middle-aged man was shot in the lower abdomen. Amazingly, the would-be robber continued to be pummeled by the now-seriously wounded doctor before he managed to flee the scene. The young man was later apprehended by law enforcement.
On the other side of town, an assistant who would have normally been working but had felt a strange God-given urge to stay home that day received a call that her employer had been shot after an attempted robbery. Amazingly, she had avoided that harmful situation, although she found it traumatic enough to receive such a call.
Friends of the doctor stated they were not surprised that he put up such a fierce stand. In their opinion, he was one of the last people to be messed with. An outdoors-man and hunter who once continued a camp-out even after breaking his leg, the 51-year-old chiropractor is a strong believer in the right of self defense and had no intention of letting a crime be committed if he could stop it. He was not only willing to defend himself but also others who were present.
To me, this illustrated the importance of our ability to maintain our Second Amendment rights. If we can’t defend ourselves, where will we be? I truly feel blessed to see that there are people who are willing to stand up to criminals and endeavor to whip them, even if there could be fatal consequences if one fails.
*Last I heard, the victim of the shooting was doing well considering the circumstances and was recovering from surgery.

Big deal, the punk got arrested. Now a long trial, the blame game that its our fault that this punk has gone bad. Then some liberal judge the slaps his wrist, gives a light sentence and in a couple of years this punk is on the streets again, to do what? The same damn thing. The liberals will want more gun control. I say no more gun contro, enforce the laws already on the booksl. Give this punk and quick and public death sentence. We the people are sick of spending our tax dollars on judges that give light sentences so they will always have a job. Its time for some tough law, the bad guys are running wild. It’s not societies fault for all the crime, its the liberals with thier reform ideas. Going to prison should be punishment, not special meals, college, cable tv,and free phone calls. Throw them in a deep dark hold to think on what they did and to think about not making the same mistake. You liberals calling for more gun laws, does the laws work for lawbreakers or for people that obey laws? The laws only work for people that obey laws, thats the answer in case you couldn’t figure it out, I know you liberals have a hard time figuring simple things out. Heres another fact for you gun grabbers, all gun laws and gun control is unconstitutional. Anyone voting for gun laws and controls are traitors to the Constitution.
Agreed but I would add that this perp should be publicly flogged followed by being throw into solitary confinement for a minimum of 5 years in a cell closely resembling those in which our VN Pows were confined in the infamous “Hanoi Hilton” with similar amenities. The alternative would be burning at the stake or public hanging. If they insist on behaving like barbarians then the punishment should fit the crime. These punks pull this crap only because they know that at most they’ll maybe do some time in the joint where they get free room and board and coddling at our expense, then they’re back on the street and it’s deja vu all over again. Liberals, leftists in general, are the bane of the existence of any free, God fearing, descent, peaceful and prosperous society. To hell with ‘em all. If only they would proceed with all due haste.
Given the circumstances the Doctor was at a distinct disadvantage since his new patient was armed while he was not. Even if the Doctor had a gun concealed in his pockets, he would not have been able to draw it. The question that I have is was the Doctor’s office in one of those Liberal Blue states like California that prevent honest American citizen’s from arming themselves? Those states empower the bad guys who carry weapons and know that in all probability their target (victim) is unarmed. The city with the highest crime rate and murder rate is Flint Michigan followed closely by Detroit Michigan and yes you got it, only the bad guys carry concealed weapons in that state. In Arizona for example, the bad guys never know if their intended target might have increased firepower verses their throw-away $10.00 midnight special handgun.

It’s any wonder that the highest crime rate is in the city of Flint, MI and Detroit. Carl Love-me-less Levin and Debbie Stab-us-all-in-the-back Now, the two U.S. Senators from MI, will not listen to we, the people in Michigan. They have destroyed Michigan with the help of Gov. John Englar and all the governors after that by selling out GM to obozo. This is the reason the crime rate is so high in Michigan. We have a God-given right to defend ourselves. The liberals and RINOs are trying to violate that right. But, we must defend that right or we will not survive as a free nation.

If the shooter/criminal was an illegal alien, he’ll probably be exonerated because to prosecute him would be profiling or some other such nonsense. The criminal should be on his way to prison.
If we outlaw guns, then the outlaws will be the only ones with guns.
Just ask the people in England and in Austrailia. Instead of standing up like and saying no to the gun grabbers. They have no way to defend themselves. But the bad guys said nope we`ll keep our guns. We like helpless victums. I guess the people in England and Australia enjoy being victums to the bad guy`s. If they didn`t they would stand up and throw the gun grabbers out of office. We sent thousands of private guns to England to defend themselves in case of invasion that didn`t come. Those guns were never fired but are all now destroyed and the english people are now slaves to the criminals.
It’s a shame the Doctor was not carrying a concealed gun and he may could have shot the criminal!
I’m glad I have a permit and am allowed to carry a gun on my job and know how and when to use it! If this kid had been in my office and pulled a gun on me he would either be dead or ate up since I’m also allowed to have my $ year old female Rottweiler with me at work and she really loves me and does not allow anyone to mess with me!
The only problem with a permit is that it identifies you to the people that believe they have the power to abrogate the Constitution and seize your weapons, because you might use them to defend yourself against criminals or a runaway government. New Orleans after Katrina is the most blatant example.
Nobody will know you’re armed unless you are called on to use your weapon. Tried by twelve or carried by six.

I wonder if – had the doctor resisted and someone else in his waiting room got shot in the melee – that wounded patient in the waiting room could have sued the doctor’s insurance carrier in the same way that customers in a bank can sue the bank if their lives are endangered by a bank employee resisting a bank robber. Funny thing, once such litigation became popular all the banks in California adopted a policy wherein their employees were instructed to give the money to the robbers and not resist,…bank robberies skyrocketed after said policy was universally adopted.
If lawyers were made responsible for the frivolous lawsuits they file, we would have a marked reduction in the number of lawyers.
