After well-deserved public condemnation for Michelle Obama’s lavish Spanish vacation, the First Family is trying to change its image with a “vacation” to Florida’s Gulf Coast. And what an affair it is.
Mike Memoli of The Washington Post‘s blog, “The Swamp” reports: “From scheduled arrival of Air Force One Saturday to the time it departs on Sunday, the Obamas will have spent 26 hours and 50 minutes on the ground in the Panama City area.”
That does not quite compare to Michelle and the girls’ four-night sojourn in Marabella, Spain. The First Lady whisked along a small army of 40 friends, costing U.S. taxpayers $75,000 a day.
After the one-day “vacation” in the Gulf, the Obamas will leave for their real vacation: 10 days in Martha’s Vineyard.
It rather reminds me of John Kerry and John Edwards’ campaign stunt in 2004, pretending to have dinner at Wendy’s. While standing in line, Teresa Heinz did not recognize chili. And as soon as the cameras had recorded their face time with the little people, the Kerrys and Edwardses ditched the burgers and feasted on gourmet food.
Obama is trying to pull off another “common man” moment, showing he loves spending weekends with the NASCAR enthusiasts of the panhandle.
After the brief trip, he’ll return to raising money from fat cats and special interests for the Democratic Party. He has a five-state swing through Wisconsin, California, Washington, Ohio, and Florida starting Monday. He recently gushed, “I’m pretty good at politicking.”
You couldn’t tell that by his recent poll numbers.
Maybe Michelle realizes her husband is more popular in Spain than in Panama City? Or maybe the Obamas prefer to vacation in places heavily populated by socialists (like Spain and Martha’s Vineyard) because they are more comfortable around people who think like they do.

There's enough trash on the ground right now on the gulf coast, the people don't really don't care that they come and add to it anyway. It's more of a thumb their nose at them than anything else. Oh, and I guess the girls can enjoy the sights in Panama City..it is a very cool place for kids.
I don’t blame anyone for not being crazy about him and his family coming to their state and no way is this vaation any where near the cost of what the tax payers spent for her to go to Africa, Vale or any other place she decided she was entitled to go on the dime of the tax payer. Nobama bought her diamond studs for her BD for $5,000.00 and they were not big enough or good enough so she took them back and got some for $10,000.00. read the book the Amateur and learn all about this freak that is trying to destroy our country and the citizens at the same time. I said we need to take back our country and that there were not enough jails and prisons to lock everyone up and like one person who got back to me reminded me of the FEMA camps that are set up and being set up complements of our government.I remember seeing them when Jessy Ventura had his show on Conspiracy and we see how quick they took it off.

they spend our (tax payers) hard earned money like there is no end and I have been getting emails about impeaching Nobama for 3 years and for some reason the mad mad is still in the W H. Anyone who votes for him will be the cause of the destruction of this great country and they will only have their big bucks to blame but what are they going to do if he does by chance (slim) and he spreads their money around? Will he still be the great one? What will he do when he has us all locked up for speaking our mind.
Those worthless pieces of human crap have done nothing but vacation since that trashy outfit has been in the peoples house other than when he gets a photo- op to sign one of his destruction of America Bills. Like my father used to say they are not worth the power and lead it would take to blow their brains out.
Can anybody tell me just how many days, so far this year, have they been on these various vacations? I have read where both the Obama's have large entourages and persolal staffs that travel with them EVERYWHERE.
This is, at most, a very feeble attempt at a "token" thrown out to appease the "little people". It''s not working! And I wonder why they have completely forsaken the Louisiana coast, which, because of Obummer's edict, is causing further damage to their economy because he won't follow 2 judges orders to lift the oil drilling ban. Oh, and never mind the fact that they spend more time vacationing than they do at the WH. November cannot come soon enough!
Like you say this is an attempt to please the little people which I am one of and for sure he is not pleasing me. I have said all along he is a mad man, he is out to destroy this country, him and his ape wife feel whatever they do is ok because he is Commander in Chief. Just like his over 2 billion dollars to the black farmers for past treatment as was his Nobama care along with other things was done behing closed doors and without the final decision by Congress.
I have been getting emails for 3 years on impeaching Nobama and is this whole government afraid of the race card? Look at Clinton and how quick they jumped to get rid of him because he got his cigar smoked by an intern. Why did our taxes go to the black farmers for past treatment? I didn’t treat them bad and none of my family did so why are our taxes going to them? When this country has such a high debt why is he allowed to give billions away?
I pray he is out in November and if his rich friends vote him back in after all they have been able to read and all they have seen of what he is doing then they can take the blame of this country being destroyed all the way and we the people being in concentration camps because under the mad man something is going to happen. IMO it is not going to be goodl Just hope he is out come Nov
The Obama’s are ‘Uptown’ now.. didncha know? They’re like the Jefferson’s… “Movin’ on Up”….. Michelle has a new dress, shoes, jewelry, everything for each day of the week…. costing taxpayers millions and millions….. why??? Cause she thinks she’s worth it. No one tells this lady what to do OR her husband. They are high class now….. and dontcha forget it either. They dont have to pay for gas in that Plane, dont have to pay for hotels… takes along zillions of guests with them and live like the King and Queen they’ve become accustomed to. They’re UpTown now.. They laugh to themselves every time they hop on that plane sticking it to ‘whitie’….. laughing all the way to the bank with their millions they have acquired since being in the White House. Yup… they’re somebody now….!!
